My favourite thing about the hearthstone drama is the card edits mocking Blizzard:

I think they're playing themselves into a Quake Champions hole, old players don't want to return because they feel they lack the skill which in this case is cards/investment, new players feel the same, they don't know the current tactics and so on. I played Hearthstone for a short while during the early days and destroyed everyone*, it was fun.
I will never return because I don't want to spend $100 to buy cards just to play the game for fun, just like I won't pay extra money to play solitaire with a complete deck.

*at a low level and I treated it as solitaire, a thing to solve in as few rounds as possible, something I was really good at.

This entire thing sounds hilariously fabricated.

Also, seems like planted bait. "Look how dumb those Nazis on 5choon are, they believe ANYTHING!"

Retconning diablo into being a goodguy all along completely fits with post activision merger blizzard. Having a diablo game where your part of the evil legion is interesting, but framing it like the angels are authoritarian dicks with angel-diablo at the top is about the stupidest way to go about it. And it completely makes sense.

Never really been a fan of Diablo or anything Blizzard really, but this sounds enough like the current fashion for SUbVErTiNG eXPeCTATiOnS so I can believe it.

If this leak is true, there's one thing that really struck me, and that is this - it's all sequels and remakes. There is no indication that they have anything new planned, just a retread of the same old ideas, over, and over, and over. It is astounding just how creatively bankrupt the "TRIPLE AYYYY" industry is.

The one thing that’s slowly putting me off Hearthstone as a player who buys a bundle each new set is how limited the meta is, especially compared to MTGA, after a week or under of each release there’s one or two decks that seem to dominate and then for the next few months it’s like a least a third of the decks you play are the same deck over and over again regardless of what level you’re playing at (The current being Lackey Rogue).

It’s not something you see in MTGA because you could just make a deck that has a hard counter and as well as that MTGA is a bit more generous, you can get a pack a day for winning one match and completing a daily (Each pack costs 1000 gold and you get 500 for your first win each day and another 500-750 for the daily which never includes winning a match, it’s play 20 lands/x colour cards kind of thing).

Another big improvement is instead of the dust crafting system there’s wild card drops which let you craft any card you want of the same rarity which you also get if you have duplicates and you also get one extra rare or mythic wildcard for each 6 packs you open (It goes rare, rare then mythic) and you used to get 3 extra packs a week for each 5 wins you got (5/10/15) which has been replaced recently by some weird monthly exp thing that gives similar or it might be worse since a lot of players are complaing about it.

Also if you want to pay money you can get theme decks really cheap because with certain physical theme decks you get a code for a virtual MTGA deck (One per account) which people sell on eBay.

I also recommend r/hearthstonecirclejerk if you want hearthstone-related shitposts. I haven't touched the game for years, but I still go there occasionally, because people in there post chuckle-worthy stuff that wouldn't be allowed on r/hearthstone. While the main subreddit is still buzzing about the card art, people on HSCJ decided to reverse the roles and have serious discussions of cards from the upcoming expansion, and talking about "Card Wars" from Adventure Time for some reason.

Do you think Blizzard is this dumb?

Yes, Blizzard is that dumb. None of the alleged leaks would surprise anyone who has followed Blizzards downward spiral.

They have already done things not unlike of what is described in the supposed leaks. It's not unrealistic, which is what makes it so entertaining.

I just wonder what happened to taking shit on the Internet with a grain of salt instead of taking shit blindly as fact because you don't like PC culture.

You can take things with a grain of salt and still choose to believe them, or simply enjoy them for the entertainment value.

If Diablo 4 is an Overwatch engine FPS, I will shatter all of my original Diablo and Diablo II CDs (if I can find them). I'll even upload the video to youtube.

Overwatch 2 will not have a single white male hero? I mean, I don't know what to tell you, that just sounds like a ton of bullshit.

I don't work at Blizzard, I just think this sounds retarded even for a retarded company like Blizzard. There's absolutely no way they're that retarded.

I mean I don't doubt for a second that there's people having meltdowns over crunch and being forced to miss big events, but that's pretty standard for pretty much all AAA studios at this point. The OP probably got it right about the single most likely and obvious thing, guess that means he's a legit employee and is right about everything else too!

Hey guys, I'm a Square Enix employee, and oh man there were people having legit panic attacks and collapsing into sobbing heaps during the last couple months of development for the new expansion. Also Squeenix is going to buy all of Carbine Studios assets and the next FFXIV expansion will be Wildstar. You know I'm right because the first thing I said was almost a given, therefore everything else I said is right, too.

IF all that shit is actually true, though, then fuckin LMAO 2020 is going to be a hilarious year, I'll stock up on popcorn.

Última edición:
Well if your so sure, then I guess you must work at Blizzard, at least give us some sort of evidence or something. If Blizzard isn't going to officially deny it, at least one of you employees could give us the real story.
Give me evidence you're not a pedo. This is not how the burden of proof works.

Hey guys, new update from my job, in the next FFXIV expansion pack after Wildstar we're replacing all the NPCs with bi-racial non-binary folx and the final boss of the expansion will be drumpf

Trust me, I work for Square Enix

Overwatch 2 will not have a single white male hero? I mean, I don't know what to tell you, that just sounds like a ton of bullshit.

After Blizzard has already made two Overwatch heroes gay and all of the new heroes that came after the original release have either been female or minority (or both), an Overwatch 2 with no white characters would be a ton of bullshit? Really?

I miss enjoying games without thinking if some sweaty neckbeard is going to demonize me for enjoying a game with Jew developer

Who demonized you for enjoying Blizzard games?
Laughing about Blizzard doesn't mean that you should stop playing their games, as long as you get your moneys worth of enjoyment out of them.

Yes, because at the end of the day, Activision owns them and Activision wants to make money

I guarantee there will be at least one white male character in the game. I'd offer to smash my Overwatch install disc if I was wrong, but obviously that's not possible.

>The mood across the whole company is bad. Starcraft 2 is dead. Diablo 3 is dead. Overwatch -despite most of the fucking office saying sacrificing our casual audience to chase esports money was a BAD FUCKING IDEA- is shock of shocks dying. hearthstone is being described as 'in a death spiral' we've had 4 projects cancelled in 3 months and Ions team doesn't want to hear it but Battle for Azeroth is an unmitigated disaster.
>Anyone who hasn't worked there for at least 15 years got a none negotiable pay cut or the choice to walk. Josh Allen went fucking berserk. All because papa activision wants to save money
>People begged Morheim to stay. Now the sentiment is that he smelled which way the wind was blowing.
>So many people are positions they are unqualified for. This isn’t an insult it’s a fact. There are people 2 years into new positions asking their underlings what to do constantly. The brain drain has effective company structure severely.
>No matter how people tear their hair out and yell the higher ups still think trying to make an esport out of every game is going to strike it rich eventually. This foolsgold wishful thinking horseshit has cost them millions.
>Massive crunch on projects like Diablo 4. People sleeping under desks. Grown men and women weeping openly as births and a few deaths are missed. A graphics artist has been put on paid leave after being caught self harming on his break.
>2019 has really felt like things are stretched thin and reaching a breaking point.

>A plan to basically hire university students as scabs under a ‘get your foot in the door!’ scheme that may as well be called the ‘its free exposure!’ scheme.
>There was a punch up in the office after websites like massively reported on female employees having to log their ovulation cycles.
>Chris Metzen came in for the first time in a long time, he had major surgery on his back or something of the like and that’s why Thrall disappeared for Legion, and he left the office looking 5 years older and just depressed.
>Many artists let go and work outsourced to companies like Thai asset producer XPEC to lower production costs.

OVERWATCH 2
>Overwatch 2 is now in full production as a "it will fix it release". Its just left 4 dead with robots, played the flashback seasonal event? its that for 60 dollars and exclusive cosmetics
>In one of the strangest sights I’ve seen a person of colour I wont place the race of gender to for their employments sake walked off in disgust at 4 flabby white dudes getting real excited to “finally develop a game with no white men in it”. Obviously the media message right now is we bow to outrage culture lest it turn its eye of sauron in our direction but people don’t talk like that behind closed doors. They didn’t used to at least. It was about making the game the consumer would love and enjoy not chasing woke brownie points.
>The game is set before and after the “Winston Home Invasion”. The memes about Overwatch being entirely backstory was strongly taken to heart.
>Tracers girlfriend will die and over time she will learn to heal after developing a romance with Widowmaker who has her own journey as the Talon brainwashing wears off.

>The McRee age plot hole is being retconned into him being one of 3 clones of soldier 76 in a metal gear solid reference, one is found murdered as a ‘story seed’ for future content.
>Reaper is Gay
>A third faction is being added to balance out a lot of the “why would these characters work together just because they hate the other guys” stuff
>Leader is a “Techromancer” that brings the dead to life using nanites
>Her Ult brings back dead players as bots to attack their own team for the remainder of their respawn time
>Loot boxes replaced with direct time locked purchases in a weekly rotation selection and strict seasonal ‘buy it or its gone’ sales.
>Couch co-op is happening as this was extremely popular with Diablo 3.
>Don’t expect a massive engine upgrade as a version for the switch is in the works

DIABLO 4
>Diablo 4 went into sudden urgent production with the reaction to Diablo immortal, from shareholders you dumb fucks not consumers your opinions mean literally nothing to them and many higher ups only show a distaste for you as a necessary evil they have to deal with
>It’s a first person game made in the overwatch engine. Its an absolute mess they intend to “replace the vaccum in our ecosystem left by destiny” and they want to essentially be the first “fantasy schlooter”
>It is not going well. Gameplay wise they can’t get the loot to drop properly and Anthems public response has terrified them.
>3 classes at launch, 5 planned as part of paid seasonal paid content updates.

>Game involves siding with the demons as, after a millennia of peace, the angels are now an authoritarian, all controlling regime who once again want to purge sanctuary.
>They tagline being workshopped is “Let out your inner demons” as the ‘ult’ mechanic from overwatch is basically a demonic themed power up for each character
>The final boss is a holy/light infused angel Diablo called Diabael Primus. I hope to god the name changes
>Ending cutscene shows all 4 games have been a set up, Diablo was a good guy all along finding the strongest nephelim to prepare for an invasion from “The Void”.
>Expected to launch spring 2021 on Project Scarlett, PS5, battle.net and activisions in the works subscription based game streaming service running on microsofts infastructure.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT
>FFXIV is no longer allowed to be mentioned in the offices "we don't allow negativity in the dojo" is a fucking daily mantra now
>They keep saying "its natural ebb and flow, we can weather this storm" as WoW currently has dipped below 1 million subscribers when our biggest competition just announced they finally broke 1 million at E3, but not in the dojo shhh!
>Lootcrates were planned but after Belgium were hastily reworked into an ingame reward coming in 8.2 or later.
>Level Squish being tested for 9.0
>Response to Sylvanas is stronger than expect but general sentiment is that players will come around by the end of the expansion.
>However negative response to Christie Golden and the Void Lords story seeding has more people worried. BFA

is a turning point where we exhaust the rts lore and move onto new content and our reaction from our ‘core heavy users’ is not looking positive.
>Next Expansion lowers cap to 60 and level scales everything like the Elder Scrolls Online
>Vulpera and Mechagnome are the next Alliance races.
>Alliance race unlocks will now come to the cash shop as a paid unlock after its expansion ends, starting with the Legion allied races in 8.3 and the bfa races in 9.0 and so on
>There are two tabled competitors for 10.0 and reaction to the end of BfA is going to heavily impact the final decision on which makes the cut.
>The Classic team honestly look like the happiest employees at the company, but there is a growing one sided animosity between the two teams. A “they think they can just replace us?!” paranoia.
>Classic is going to dictate who is in charge of 10.0. If the money says one team is clearly the more profitable they get the reigns.
>BC and Wrath servers are in the works as part of the “classic trilogy”
STARCRAFT
>RTS as a genre is considered dead. They tried to make it an esport but its just not Brood War.
>Shooter was planned to be a story with a live service element
>Tycus Findlay survived the end of Wings of Liberty after Raynor shot him and left him in the Zerg Hive.
>Taken and partially rebuilt as a cyborg by “The Composer” a shadowy beneficiary Findlay led 4 man black ops missions during the events of Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void
>Planned ending of the retail campaign had Tycus in Raynors Bar years after the end with a new enemy from
outside the galaxy invading enmasse –something comparable to Halo 4’s prometheans but more geigeresque and codenamed “the boilersuit men” and findlays communicator would show the Composers sigil and end with a voice over of “hell, its about damn time” to lead into the first season of paid expansion dlc
>Was constructed as part of the “Every game is now a live service” company wide mission statement.
>Intended to “Out gears gears”
>Rpg elements such as upgrading more as a cyborg at the cost of humanity and losing dialogue options or intergrating zerg bioweapons into your suit which came with its own ‘micro adjutant ai’ companion
>Its dead after the last paid season pass box for starcraft 2 flopped and Diablo 4 got heavy pushing as a loot shooter instead.

HEARTHSTONE
>New project lead not popular with team, lots of butting heads at the roundtable meetings
>Userdrop off is staggering. No Blizzard game in history has fallen off this fast or this far
>Lots of worries about lootbox bills counting hearthstone packs as gambling. Rumblings in the halls that theres a experimental ‘buy dust, pay more to get more and save more’ system with legendaries now exclusive to paid adventures.
>Its not the esport they wanted it to be
>There was plans for a hearthstone VR but its been mothballed

I just copypasted the posts into one spoiler section

I read all the leaks and I honestly don't know what to say other than I think it's a weird mix of bullshit and actual facts but thanks to Poe's Law, it's hard to distinguish where any possible genuine leaks end and where the bullshit nonsense begins.

Overwatch has an infamously "woke" fanbase and IIRC, is surprisingly popular with the Tumblr crowd. So I could see Blizzard being dumb enough to purge all white male characters and make Tracer x Widowmaker canon. I can't really comment on anything else since I don't play Overwatch.

Diablo 4 being an FPS? Dunno. On the one hand, making the demons good guys and having the villains be angels does fit the standard SJW hate-boner for Christianity, but anything else seems suspect especially after Diablo Immortals.

The only reason why Bethesda making Fallout 3 as an FPS/RPG hybrid worked was partly due to the popularity of Oblivion at that time and partly because Fallout 1 and 2 were fairly obscure games that were cult classics at best and turn-based isometric RPG's were pretty much dead by then.

The leaks about WoW are the ones that I think are the most likely to be actually legit simply because that game is a decade and a half old and its heyday is long gone. It's gonna run out of steam very soon and I am honestly surprised it's lasted as long as it has.

MMO's went bust in the early 2010's until FF XIV: A Realm Reborn helped bring the format back, and WoW only made it through the MMO recession simply because it was so popular for so long prior to that.
