What makes me curious isn't the voice direction or the graphical changes. It's the weird little details.

The engine, for example. If I follow people correctly, it's what, Unreal trying to work with Blam! because Unreal can't essentially make a Halo shooter feel right. So it's a kludge of insanity already.

Animations. Apparently they're almost all recycled: Elites use Reach animations, Flood use Halo 3 animations, Brutes half-use old animations or flat-out do not have animations for some things (staggering, for example). Vehicles re-use logic from Reach. The animations for "new" weapons are re-used or simply flat-out unfinished. Cutscenes feel completely disconnected from gameplay and are pre-rendered (so probably the province of a different team altogether). Enemies sometimes get stuck in level geometry or the animations bug out.

Some levels show some changes (Library is kinda sorta completely new) and others show some attempts at rebalancing, others are unchanged. Incoherent at best. The new levels feel like someone tried randomly to do a level pack with a half-justified excuse.

It all feels off and unfinished, like it's some kind of fan-made mod. But this isn't a fan-made mod, this is presumably a flagship product: so why does it feel like it was built with minimal budget, minimal resources and weirdo prioritization? Halo Infinite was 2021, five years are a lot of time. What are those niggas, jeets and Viets doing?

Hold on, did they add brutes to CE campaign or just new maps only?

I watched some videos and reviews to see what's what, and while there are plenty of things that look terrible, pure jeetslop that does not understand the source material on any level, one thing stood out to me. Why are the marines such dickheads?
In the original games, the marines were stoked to see you. The three wounded marines at the beginning of Crow's Nest come to mind. Chief seeming like the second coming of Christ to the surrounding characters really made you feel the stakes. That if you don't succeed, there truly is no hope. But with this, it seems like every other marine is just a similar or even better fighter, and they are sure to let you know it.
Hang modern writers by their thumbs, holy shit.

That's because this is a reboot, it's not supposed to be faithful, this is just rewriting history so that 343 can "fix" the original trilogy to their liking. Gaylo 2 demaster will be even worse and by the time the third one comes out, we will barely even be able to tell it was Halo 3 at one point.
That does bring up a good point, why is John there if he is not the sole savior of humanity? That's his job, he is a one man army that does the impossible when all else is lost, if the marines aren't showing him respect and they have an army of girlbosses that can do his job even without power armor, why even bring him along? This is like some late 2000s parody except rather than there being a punchline, this is just how 343 thinks.

Money laundering most likely. Beyond the incompetence it's the only explanation that makes sense. They are so half assed that the pelican interior is copy pasted from a cut infinite cutscene. The Bonus Missions are also allegedly repurposed from infinite DLC.

There's a video he reposted of a dude punching that Bitch ODST in the face (at least you can still do that) and the one thing that really stuck out to me was the lack of blood. That's not to say nothing comes out, oh no there's this orange puss like shit that shows instead. :stress:

Ive also seen a video of the game crashing out when someone tried to kill the Pillar bridge crew. Ive seen enemy weapons fail to load from a distance. The flood cant fucking jump over things in their way. This game is a disaster.

At least they actually took the time to create other versions of Johnson's speech.

God it's so marvel shit tier.

LMFAO
Yeah, that sounds about right. This whole thing feels like a cheap, last minute reskin of something else they worked on, but they figured they could get more money if they wrapped it in a memberberries package to get a few nostalgia shekels from desperate fans.

Sprint isn't a huge problem in campaign unless they bloat up the maps along with it (which cemake doesn't really do, thank god). But it ruins the flow of multiplayer and turns it into CoDslop.

I'd say the one and only time sprint has even come close to working in Halo multiplayer is the CE throwback playlist in The 5, mostly because the pistol killed too quickly for sprintfagging out of fights to be an option.
the issue with sprint is that master chief should be fast enough to not need to sprint, i mean even crowbcat has shown in one of his videos where they made spartans speed slower to justify the sprint mechanic.

Sprinting messes up the formula that Halo had up until the point of its introduction. One of Halo's multiplayer strengths is that everything is by-the-numbers and predictable; weapons always break shields and kill with X amount of shots and people move at a set speed. The time to kill in Halo makes firefights more about spacing, trading shots and finding windows, and sprinting shook up that play style in a way a lot of Halo fans didn't enjoy.

Is "Muh Lore" a Zoomer/Alpha thing or what? I'm starting to realize that every time there's some stupid as fuck, annoying or downright bad addition to a game/comic/movie there will always be some young faggot crying about how it's okay because of "lore"

The better question is did this bitch or these missions add *anything* to the game? Which it sounds like no.

kind of, it's more of a gay-autism shit since they are called lorefags for a reason, however the whole ODST's hate spartans shit is horribly played and you need to read comics/books shite in order to get why and it's like only in the beginning of the war? ODST's alongside with the gen 1-3 spartans all die because the covenant is superior to humans, until you, the master chief, shows up and make them your bitch until the cinematics say otherwise. because that's fun.

The better question is did this bitch or these missions add *anything* to the game? Which it sounds like no.
akshually they do, they add more tedium and unlikeable characters which is something only a few retards asked for, diehard halo fans will still buy it even if they don't like it to which i say SUFFAH.

The amount of sauce lost between the original and this demake is just sad.

Also they made Cortana such a bitch, in the original she sounds concerned. Meanwhile, in the demake, she just sounds like she's rolling her eyes.

How could they even possibly manage to make this atrocity even worse than ""halo"" 4, this is just incredibly bad.
Halo 5 not having split-screen killed it for me. When Infinite promised to have split-screen, I thought we might be back, but when the campaign was delayed, then co-op was delayed, and then split-screen wasn't added I knew this shit was dead.

I don't care what zoomers say, split-screen is based as hell.
They just want you to buy another shitbox or else you must pay twice to play their awful games.
Frankly it's problematic that after all these years we are still playing as a fucking white male. It's time for the Chief to move aside and for a new black, female protagonist to take over.
They did try tho, gaylo 5 forces you to play as a nigger nearly the whole "campaign" while on his team there's a mixed race niggerdyke that spews marvel shit lines, you are also forced to play as her if you ever intend to play this shit coop (online)

Bro the way they posed them. The way they put her on the Hunter shield to make it look like she is sitting on a throne. OMG it's too much. They are even kneeling, like they are protecting their queen.

"Look at them. Didn't expect that, huh Chud?"

This is so cringe man. This together with the Prophet's diversity speech makes this the peak of 343 writing. It is the perfect amount of ass. You instantly know the writers had zero idea what they are doing, and that their only story experience is watching Disney World theme rides.

You know, it’s been nearly 14 years since 343 started forcing sprint into Halo (Reach had it but only as a power up) and it has been divisive in every game since. I still can’t understand what the motive is for 343 to stubbornly force sprint into Halo the way they do. Bungie Halo played well without it and made multiplayer fights more fun because you had to either make sure you positioned yourself well for an encounter or make sure you’re working with your team to survive. In 343 Halo, half of all fights are decided by sprint into terms of whether the guy you’re shooting at can run away before the shields drop or if a guy ran up on you CoD style to melee you. It also bloats the level design to make it work rather than keeping the levels tight like they used to be (there is a reason why small levels like Lockout are iconic).

And now we arrive at their “ground-up” remake of Halo and they continue to try forcing sprint. It must be some policy-level thing at Microsoft forcing this because I don’t understand why this continues to happen.

Edit:
This together with the Prophet's diversity speech makes
This speech also highlights another long-running issue I have with 343: their insistence with using those goofy, nerdy names for the Covenant species. They are Elites, Brutes, Grunts, and Jackals, not Ungoobooboos and Sarangullees and shit. Bungie knew better than that shit but 343 continues to muh loooore it up in every game unnecessarily.

Hell, it was divisive in Reach too. The campaign wasn't really affected by it, but the maps had to be designed with Sprint and the Jetpack in mind, especially since the game had a loadout system that gave you Sprint on most of them. But Bungie at least somewhat understood how to design their maps around the player being faster and more mobile. 343 really doesn't.

Also have a video of an Elite freaking the fuck out cus it's trying to dodge a needler.
