Marvel Cinematic Universe

For some reason Marvel does not see any value in making more obscure, lesser-known characters seem really interesting to the general public. Even though this literally happened with Rocket Raccoon and Groot.
Which is ironic, given most of the films. Who cared about Iron Man in 2007? Or Thor, or Captain America?
Most of what Marvel impressed people with ten years ago was that they took characters that WEREN'T the X-men or Spiderman, and made them interesting enough for people to at least check out their movies.

Made them interesting and nailed the casting of all 3, heck did a good job with most all of the casting in that first era.
It’s such an odd thing, how it just works or it doesn’t - the Falcon actor, just blah for example. It seems like there are only so many actors that have it

If The MCU staff were smart..they would have Cassie Lang ask doom "Can we have ice cream later" so Doom could say "Doom..will consider your request"
Cassie is like fucking twenty now or something.
They need bodies for doom to fucking savage.
I can think of plenty more deserving.

Even though this literally happened with Rocket Raccoon and Groot. Instead of Adam Warlock being a cool character with interesting abilities and biblical themes. We get a lame joke character for everyone to laugh at. This is because James Gunn has to constantly larp as a comic book fan and knows dick about anything.
Also because biblical themes more overt than T-posing are illegal.

I remember when they announced the Captain Marvel movie somebody on /co/ was expressing incredulity at the idea that Marvel could take a C-list superhero no normalfag has ever heard of whose only personality trait is being a sad washed up alcoholic and somehow turn it into a blockbuster and another anon said "They did it with Iron Man".

They were both right in the end.

Iron man atleast had the alcoholism and being part of the cringevengers/him fucking everything up for everyone.
The most famous captain marvel stories are the time the original mahvell fucking died, her incest rape son and the time she got power raped by rogue making rogue more interesting and leaving her as an even bigger literally who.

Channing Tatum as Gambit was fine in a joke movie like Deadpool and Wolverine.

Beyond that, it doesn't work. I even like Channing Tatum all right, but it's a total miscast if you want people to take the character remotely seriously.

Who do we think are the most likely casualties here or in Secret Wars? I could see characters who've basically finished their arcs being cut, like Rocket and maybe Ant-Man. Thor is likely too as one of the jobbers that makes DOOM seem legit.
I doubt they’re be any lasting casualties. At best it’ll be like Infinity War where a bunch of the heroes “died” only to come back right at the end of the next movie with the sole expectation of Black Widow.

Just had to laugh when they showed off Tatumbit vs Shang Chi as if it's a marquee matchup that people have been chomping at the bit for for years.
And neither of them are hot.

I'm so excited to see it, I will sooooo go see it in Dolby and take in multiple bottles of vodka and take a shot every time there's awful CGI.
RIP your liver. Call the ambulance on standby.
Oh yeah, all the X-Men are getting yeeted except for maybe Gambit. Can't have two sets of those going forward.
Didn't he already die in X3? I stopped watching after that but I know more were made.

The new X-men . . . led by 50-year-old Gambit!
Lol We need new, younger blood for these characters.
I'm a bit salty because I had a crush on Gambit and shipped him with Rogue. I'll never get a happy ending. Rogue in XMen97 is with Magento or something now.
