That's because the twisted sword is going to be exclusive to the aborted weird route save file. Some people theorize it's going to lead to a 'third' route, between the two extremes. I may have believed that before Toby's trannies took over the writing and we now spend 90% of a chapter's runtime watching Ralsei decide he wants to be a woman because he saw some pink and blue juice, but the signs are there that something will happen with that.
I had a sinking feeling about this the second Toby said he was opening up his team. Of course he was going to pick the gayest and most retarded niggers possible, and of course they were not going to simply let the script be his sole creation. I would actually argue things start to feel a little "off" almost immediately in Chapter 2, when the Susie and Noelle shipping starts. Chapter 5 was a misfire in general, it has some intriguing ideas I think, it feels like it is trying to hammer in that the fun adventures are done and that there won't be any easy way out, no power of friendships will save the day, no anime flashy moves will stop the roaring, Kris has dug himself so deep into playing both sides that he's effectively driven himself into a turbo isolation where he isn't allowed to enjoy anything with his new best friend any longer.
But it just wasn't the time to have that beaten into us again. I mean, I like the gameplay, overall I liked the chapter, but it feels very out of place. The end of Chapter 3 was already a dark wake up call, and Chapter 4 hammered that same idea in extra hard (also we totally DO beat the being of eternal darkness with the power of friendship so???) which leaves Chapter 5 in this awkward middle ground of the game treading water so that we can be forcefed the SLOPPIEST and LEAST INTERESTING lesbian yuri bait shipfest that is so forced and unappealing that people literally think Susie is being fucking brainwashed by the prophecy to make it happen.
If weird route wasn't in this there'd be pretty much zero reason to talk about this. The fact Toby had to bandaid in a deep lore implication to get the fanbase talking about something other than Pirate Gaster and tranny Ralsei is telling that he's at least aware of the issue, but it's kind of disheartening to know we're in the tail-end of the game and Toby has had a massive stumble on behalf of social pandering.
A massive consequence of the game taking so long to come out is that the socially progressive rot is going to set in thicker and thicker as time goes on and people become more radicalized. I fully expect Ralsei to troon out in Chapter 6 and for Kris to stab someone to death for forgetting to use they/them in dialogue.

So I'm in the middle of watching the original critique of Chapter 5, and it smells to me like this older writer guy is simply giving the team too much and at the same time too little credit.
For example, he brings up nostalgia, and how that theme ends up getting lost. But it actually isn't lost, it's simply a form of nostalgia he's not aware of: memberberries from obscure and semi-obscure SNES shit.
In other words, this poor(?) guy seems to lack what I'd frame as Tumblr fandom literacy, for a lack of a better term. Without that esoteric knowledge, it becomes near-impossible to understand what you are actually looking at with some of these works.
On the other hand, if anything this kind of ignorance is bliss. It is my experience that the less you know about modern or even semi-modern creators' inspirations, the more you enjoy the work, because oftentimes that inspiration ends up just resulting in a shallow copy or mishmash of copies with no innovative twist.
Another example of this kind of ignorance coming up is him saying "it feels like nothing mattered." This is another tell of some generational or cultural disconnect, because oftentimes... yeah, that kind of quasi-nihilism except for the specific writer's sacred cows is actually the point.
I dunno. He's right, but I think he's not truly grasping the full existential horror that This Is How Tumblrites Are, they think this is the good shit.

In his new video where he defends him calling Kris a "he" i thought his defense was a little bit lacking. He should have just said "it's not confirmed to be non-binary, it could be up to interpretation so I'm saying he" or even better, "he's not non-binary thats retarded." Instead he said something along the lines of "I just want to call him he", which is fair enough but also I don't see why you wouldn't just make one of the former arguments.
Thats just a nitpick on my end though.

It feels more like he's trying to keep the feedback pretty professional-level. As in, he seems to be assuming the other writers working for Deltarune are taking themselves and the task seriously. In that sense, yeah sure looks like the issue is Toby can't micromanage all these dorks and maybe he should try to keep a tighter leash because that's his baby we're talking about.
However, I could see an autist like Toby just surrounding himself with what he thinks are his friends and thus being unable to tell them off.
So it would go: "o-oh I see you put your fetish in my game....that's funny hahah..."
Hard to stay professional once you acknowledge the fact you are working with perverts who are literally perverting your work for the Message(tm) instead of just mediocre writers somewhat accidentally fumbling around.

Maybe. The problem is that true ignorance of what is going on in this sort of situation is kind of indistinguishable from simply being exceedingly polite/professional, as they often have the same result.
Like his criticisms of the Asgore writing. It's hard to tell if he doesn't realize that the writers likely don't respect Asgore as a character because he's a straightforward seemingly-straight-and-relatively-normal dad figure, thus it's natural that they wouldn't write him properly. Or, if he's pretending to not realize that.

There are people that simply are not hooked up to culture war faggotry.
He seems like the type that would support current thing through mass media exposure but at the same time he sees the pronoun debate be something irrelevant since it's fiction and doesn't see anything deeper in it outside of overzealous fans.
He probably is not even aware that lefty progressive types hate the nuclear family and there is a strong chance any ruining of a father figure is less ineptitude and more on purpose, he just sees it as poor writing.
We are terminally online or we wouldn't post here, most people are not nearly as hooked up and if anything this is the first time this dude is put in a situation where he has to notice things and get wheels turning.
Basically, I wouldn't immediately go into "this guy KNOWS but he can't address the REAL SHIT or will get hounded by his tribe!', the "he" is already the biggest transgressiom and he certainly didn't become a blubbering mess about it.

Fair, thing is the shill force is having a harder time defending chapter 5 and deltarune as a whole (the last fennekin video's comments are a lot less hostile and isn't even touching chapter 5 yet) so this guy might luck out and not have to deal with the abyss looking at him straight in the eye. It is refreshing since he will just walk into landmines without noticing/caring because he's just not aware it's supposed to be a "heckin bad thought".
As an example of a faggot I KNOW is avoiding the culture war talk is the Wha Happun series from Matt McMuscles. When he talks about something like suicide squad, there was not a single pip about shit designs or antagonising the fanbase for woke points and this fucker knows about it for sure.

Toby himself has said that if Mother 3 was translated people would instantly realize he is nowhere near as creative as people think he is.
I think immitation is largely fine and not something to get too bent out of shape over, but the further down the line of inspiration you get typically the worse the end product becomes.
