China's on it's way down thanks to globalization being under fire, population decline thanks to government policy, and an economy that is heavily reliant on foreign trade that is a double edged sword.
If I remember, China was taking a beating during Trump's trade war with them. It ain't a ferocious dragon like many say it is.

So turns out the speaker, Mike Johnson, had a podcast called Truth Be Told. He did a bunch of episodes of it.
Recently the website of it went offline, and a bunch of people started screaming that Mike is deleting it and trying to hide the record. Surely it is full of RACISM and CHRISTOFASCISM and he is trying to stop people from HOLDING HIM ACCOUNTABLE!!!!
Except it's bullshit. The site has gone offline, but the entire thing is still out there in every other platform where it was previously hosted as well like Apple podcasts. Pretty funny to see this drama collapse on itself before it even began.

I mean I live an hour and a half drive from the place and it was still a story here after national news moved on, but even here the stories on the evening news and in the papers ended a while ago. It turned out to be a nothingburger unless you lived like within a mile or so of the wreck, if even that

China is also the country that makes our Iphones and Teslas, which America doesn't want to do because it's environmentally hazardous. America is a country reliant on foreign trade, otherwise, we'd see a lot more Made in America stickers everywhere. It's not because American labor is expensive and has been since the 90s. Cheap food in America isn't made in America, it's made in Mexico. Why? Because Mexicans make produce for cheaper than America. Oil extraction under Biden--and really, any Leftist government--can't be done in America because of environmental laws preventing it. That's why gas is near $5 country-wide. We can't extract shale-oil gas deposits and have to beg OPEC to lower the price, only for Saudi Arabia to say, "lol, no." The trade war was an inconvenience that affected both sides negatively for no discernable gain. Evergrande isn't even in the news anymore, largely because they don't want to give themselves the same problem as the US's great recession and refused to bail out the company. China is a globohomo country with Chinese characteristics focused on economic development. No more and no less than that and that qualifies it as a great power. It is not, as China Uncensored keeps insisting, falling apart just because of economic downturns.
The US and China are two one-legged giants that rely on each other to sustain each other. That's why the US is never able to ratfuck them the same way they tried--and failed to do--with Russia. What we do know is the US can't break out of this relationship because of all the competency crises and government regulation on American industries to institute Economic Autarchy despite having the raw resources to do so. The technical knowhow for running heavy industry is knowledge retired Boomers even have now, the political will in the government is engaged in pointless military adventurism and bribery, and American corporations are more interested in controlling thoughts than they are about doing business. That's why America is not actually self-sufficient despite having the ability to do so.

Somehow the second after India tariffed the iPhone, Tim Cook had no issue setting up a new factory in India and building iPhones there. All of his excuses about skilled workers, supply chains, and advanced factories, etc. only being available in China turned out to not really be problems after all...

It's because compared to what it used to be, that is mere fraction of what we should be doing. American Industry isn't self-sufficient anymore, and the things we do produce are usually higher-end manufactured goods with said factories relying on importing lower level goods from abroad. Not having a stable source of base materials means our manufacturing industry can collapse if something seriously disrupts trade.

No industrial base in the world is self sufficient. Part of the reason for the inflation of the last two and a half years is that American manufacturers have been switching sourcing of raw materials and components to, particularly, Mexican, Canadian, and American sources, which all cost more. That's the tradeoff. I'm glad you're up to date on this issue so you're aware that it's been happening already
