I kid, but don't some Jews have red hair? Why do they keep doing this? The racism Hollywood has against redheads is laughably obvious by this point, do they think people aren't going to notice?
R&S has the whole 1950s aesthetic to it which is appealing and with Invader Zim Gaz is cute and even though it has a dark, gothic vibe, you still have stuff like the sleekness of Zim's technology, ie it's an "ugly" that is still appealing to look at, just quirky.
This new April O'Neal on the other hand is just ugly ugly, she's actively unpleasant to look at and it's not played for a laugh or even a "quirky" vibe at all, it's just more YAAAAAAAS KWEEN SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAY bullshit.
You do raise a good point though, I never thought TMNT made sense as a Nick property, as a 90s kid knowing TMNT as it's own property that had nothing to do with Nick, to then turn it into a Nick property feels shoehorned in, even Avatar The Last Airbender is more fitting because that was at least always Nick's own show.

Ren & Stimpy, Angry Beavers, CatDog and other Nick shows all have that 90s "quirky" style where it's kind of ugly but not "ugly" ugly or if it does do that, it's played for a laugh.

Oh by the way, that CyberCubed dude is pretty infamous in every fandom he gets involved with. He chased away Ciro Nieli from the forums because he was such an insufferable autistic cunt, and is only kept around to be the local punching bag. No one else has mentioned this, but after looking up the film's voice cast, I noticed something. Both Leatherhead and Wingnut (these guys)
Both have female voice actors, despite being males in every other incarnation.
So in addition to April getting a race swap, it looks like some characters are getting gender swapped.

I really don't like when Tumblr-minded freaks mock people for objecting to female characters being redesigned as hideous, like saying that any critics are just crying "wahhhhh I can't jerk off to her" to deflect criticisms of a character's appearance. It's nothing to do with wanting TO SEX a character, characters being visually appealing is OBJECTIVELY a good thing. what the fuck is wrong with these freaks.

I can’t help but believe they made April O’Neil look like an adolescent Whoppie Goldberg to fanbait people, the end. I guarantee you that this is bait. They made her fat and unappealing to look at. The nonwhite designs for April like in the last tmnt cartoon on Nickelodeon still looked aesthetically pleasing.
