1. Horror Show - Iced Earth
2. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge - My Chemical Romance
3. Resurrection Through Carnage - Bloodbath
4. Ghost Reveries - Opeth
5. We Are Not Alone - Breaking Benjamin

'Miss Machine' - The Dillinger Escape Plan
Sheer brutality executed with perfect technical precision. Only lets up to croon leeringly at you like a sinister uncle.
If you listen to one track: 'Sunshine the Werewolf'

'Power in Numbers' - Jurassic 5
Soulful hip-hop over summery jazz grooves. Put on a song like 'Freedom' and I challenge you to not nod your head.
If you listen to one track: 'What's Golden'

'Panic' - Caravan Palace
Infectious electro-tinged gypsy-swing. Great to dance around an empty house to!
If you listen to one track: 'Rock it to Me'

''A Healthy Distrust' - Sage Francis
Intelligent, poetic rap with masterful metaphor and incredible driving beats. I recommend this album to people who usually don't like hip-hop, because it really is damn good.
If you listen to one track: 'Escape Artist'

'Used Songs' - Tom Waits
Technically a compilation, but his catalogue is so diverse I couldn't recommend just one album. Master of the bar-room ballad. Soulful, broken and intensely cool.
If you listen to one track: 'Heartattack and Vine'

Sorry I haven't actually posted vids or anything for the suggested tracks, I'm on my phone and very lazy. I love reading these from other people! It always interests me to see that people can have albums that I really like alongside albums that I really don't like in their personal favourites. Shows just how subjective music really is!

CatParty dijo:
no particular order (except L7 is always #1)
L7- Bricks Are Heavy
I love you for reminding me that L7 exists and I need to download Bricks Are Heavy right fucking now.

1) Time Waits For No Slave - Napalm Death
2) The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here - Alice in Chains (I'm surprised at the hate this record gets, the vocal melodies/harmonies are divine)
3) Crack the Skye - Mastodon
4) Liquid Swords - GZA/Genius
5) Plastic Surgery Disasters - Dead Kennedys

But if I added another five you can be sure it would have included Wu-Tang and probably two other Napalm Death records.

Tiamat - Prey
Woods of Ypres - Woods 5: Grey Skies & Electric Light
Amon Amarth - Once Sent From the Golden Hall
Poets of the Fall - Twilight Theater
Asian Kung-Fu Generation - Sol-Fa

Miles - Kind of Blue

Greatest album ever recorded, and all of you can go suck it.

Ahhhh no. You've given me a reason to subject my musical tastes onto everyone... that sounded hipster-ish. Sorry about that.

Okay, here's my top 5, with included choice cuts because why the hell not:

1) Clutch - Blast Tyrant

2) Jethro Tull - Aqualung

3) Blind Guardian - At the Edge of Time

4) Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties

5) Frank Zappa - Apostrophe

I thrust unto thee my taste in music. Sip, savour, spit.
Picking just 5 albums is actually a bit more difficult that first expected.
In no particular order -

Hey Stoopid - Alice Cooper

Nifelvind/Nattfödd - Finntroll (sorry, couldn't decide between the two!)

Piece of Mind/Powerslave - Iron Maiden (again, what can I say?)

The Headless Children - W.A.S.P

Deconstruction/Ocean Machine: Biomech - Devin Townsend Project (I'm not even going to try to make excuses anymore)

Honorable mentions -

Ukon Wacka - Korpiklaani
Painkiller - Judas Priest
The Art of War/Primo Victoria/Coat of Arms/Carolus Rex - Sabaton
Battering Ram/Condition Red - Iron Savior
Sagas - Equilibrium
Epicloud/Ziltoid the Omniscient/Terria - Devin Townsend
Holy Diver/Magica - Dio
At the Edge of Time - Blind Guardian
Balls to the Wall - Accept
Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper

Oh fuck this, I could go on all night, and that's only a few genres. Imma just stop. *yawn*

Om- God is Good
The Doors- The Soft Parade

1) Heaven and Hell - Black Sabbath
2) Lovedrive - Scorpions
3) Stained Class - Judas Priest
4) Operation: Mindcrime - Queensryche
5) The Downward Spiral - Nine Inch Nails

There are probably another five or so that could float around the top, but that's what comes to mind at the moment

It's pretty hard to narrow the list to five, but in no particular order:
1. White Album, The Beatles
2. Abbey Road, The Beatles
3. Absolutely Free, Mothers of Invention
4. The Commercials, Tee Vee Toons (a compilation of commercial jingles from the '50s-'70s)
5. Magical Mystery Tour, The Beatles

Honorable Mentions:
6. Flood, They Might Be Giants
7. Saturday Night Fever soundtrack album
8. Axis (Bold As Love), Jimi Hendrix Experience
9. Are You Experienced?, Jimi Hendrix Experience
10. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan soundtrack album

Obviously, my musical tastes are fairly eclectic. I like everything from The Beatles to Frank Zappa to They Might Be Giants. I'll listen to just about anything....except rap, hip hop, and today's top 40, over-autotuned, over-corporatized, pap.

1. Ultra Beatdown: DragonForce
2. Inhuman Rampage: DragonForce
3. The Power Within: DragonForce
4. In This Life: Jet Black Stare
5. Queen: Greatest Hits: Queen
...
Yeah, I really like DragonForce.

I can get behind DragonForce, but what I can't quite get behind is saying that UB/IR are better than The Power Within or Sonic Firestorm.

Me myself, it's really hard to narrow it down to just 5 albums. MAYBE something like:

Dream Theater - Scenes From a Memory
Cynic - Focus/Traced In Air (Can't pick a single album)
Celtic Frost - Monotheist
Morbid Angel - Blessed Are The Sick
Symphony X - The Odyssey/V: The New Mythology Suite (Still can't pick)

But then that's missing a lot of albums I really, REALLY like, such as Between the Buried and Me's Colors, and Transatlantic's Bridge Across Forever. 5 is just too few for someone like me.

1.The Stone Roses-The Stone Roses

The rest of these are not in any order as I can't decide plus they may not really be in my Top 5.
The Messenger-Johnny Marr
The It Girl-Sleeper
Pills 'N' Thrills And Bellyaches-Happy Mondays
Do It Yourself-The Seahorses
