the worgen curse in gilneas came from arugal if i recall correctly

arugal was a kirin tor mage who was expelled from dalaran for researching that shit, he went west to silverpine forest and made shadowfang keep his home where he continued his research. eventually he made contact with the worgen in the emerald dream and brought some of them to azeroth, soon afterwards they started to proliferate beyond the keep and started infesting the wider area. initially they didn't make it into gilneas because it was walled off by the greymane wall.

years later, during cataclysm, the gilneans were facing a full scale assault from sylvanas' forsaken. they found out that the worgen curse had the side effect of making you immune to the plague of undeath and prevented your dead body from being resurrected, so they willingly took the curse on themselves, hoping that it would give them an edge in the fight against sylvanas. that's how they ended up as a nation of furries.
The worgen deserved better treatment.

Onyxia's plan is more concise, but in the comic featuring Varian/Broll/Valeera, she arranges to have King of Stormwind to split in two different versions of himself for... reasons?
My memory of this was that she did it to seal all of Varian's chadly vril into an amnesiac gladiator so that all that remained was an easily manipulated soyface.
The worgen deserved better treatment.
I'm still bewildered that they gave the Worgan Mcguffin to balance druids in Legion because like 75% of class/spec combos they were scraping the bottom of the barrel for artifacts.

The issue with MMORPGs as a market right now is that many of the big players are very well-established, it's not a novel game genre anymore and that there is so much sunk cost fallacy going on. There seems to be room for certain niche games to thrive but there is a lot of risk.
correct, the problem with MMORPG's is the time investment and the systems age, you can't just do wow anymore because, well there is already wow and because it uses ancient time-demanding systems that most games just don't do it anymore due to sheer convenience or quality of life as one would put it.
south korea is a amazing case study for MMORPG's that could have some of it's things ported to the west and work but good luck with that, too risky.

The entire /vg/ thread is this kind of shit. A guild full of people named Futa, ywnbaw, other such nazi-adjacent things. On fucking private servers, run by troons, especially twow being the most trooned-out kind of them all? It's a perfect example of how alt-righters both wanna bash in trannies, are trannies, and/or want to fuck trannies.

Honestly Laughingskull was one of the best PvP experiences I have ever had.

Thankfully I don't feel bad for ascension because Dutch and Kaladin had become amazingly greedy and lazy.

Zen is an extremely anti white Wumao.

Hard to root for blizzard but oh well.

EDIT: Minor gripe but its amazing how lazy most of the team is. Imagine this; you are making money hand over fist, I forget the exact calculation of the first month of Bronzebeard income. I know they were making tens of thousands of dollars a month in bundles.

Why do you stay in the U.S? All they had to do was move to some non-extradition country and live like a warlord. Making more money then mid level business owners taking months to scrape together add-ons made by thousands of open source users for a decades old game. In a country where a tenth of that is larger then middle class.

Its amazing how someone will have the easiest job and still cant be bothered to commit to it.

Última edición:
It's kind of obvious that Epoch was used purely as a tool to attract new players for Ascension's more heavily monetized servers. Which would've been fine, but they deliberately tricked (and later outright forced?) people to download the main Ascension client, even if they only wanted to play Epoch. Alternatively, they were clownishly inept/dumb? The most "steelman" position would be to assume that they thought everyone who wants to play Epoch knows how Blizzard launcher worked (there was an identical drop-down menu for selecting Epoch) but that would arguably fall under "inept/dumb" while having zero mention of Epoch anywhere else in the launcher. This could be interpreted as a major lack of confidence in their main product (concern that their existing players would jump ship to Epoch.)

lol weeks ago tencent laid off the hag that ran wowhead since the beginning, it still looks like aids though.
Perculia is deadge? Say it aint so!
Wowhead has been on a steep decline for years even before tencent bought it. Rest in piss.

As much as I fucking hate the whole Ascension fiasco, Blizzard has every right to do this. However, this is basically the Nintendo Situation where they will have a negative reputation towards their IP's and it won't ever transfer to actual sales of said product. Server players are not going to bother playing retail once you piss them off unless you actually provide a good alternative to said product.

Blizzard's handling of Classic WoW, as well as the inevitable "Classic+" that they're literally waiting to announce at BlizzCon, won't inspire those Private Servers to play on those servers either.
