At least the son felt Wheaton was enough of a father figure to do that, in this area of his life he must being doing something right *shrugs*

I find it doubtful. If he really felt that way, he probably would have asked earlier, or the other kids would have asked too.

No, waiting until nineteen to do it, and only one of them doing so, speaks to an ulterior motive on the wife's son's part. He either foolishly thought that the Wheaton name would open up opportunities, or it was a "Fuck you" to his mother's ex.

Makes sure he's legally entitled to a share of the estate.

edit: Its a smart move, it has him locked in to get almost a full quarter of Wil's funko pop collection.

That's a good point, but I do remember people going apeshit for Patrick Stewart in Oblivion, so maybe they do really like it? I dunno.

That was 2006, though -- things like that were still kind of a novelty. Skyrim has Christopher Plummer and Max Von Sydow, both in much larger roles than Patrick Stewart has, and no one says boo.

One of the funny parts about that is it wasn't even Patrick Stewart's first rodeo as a voice in a video game. He did a voice in one of Westwood's Land of Lore games back in the 90s.

Currently Day has a "charity" stream event for the #KeepFamiliesTogether going on live on Twitch. They are dancing like monkeys to the Final Fantasy victory theme after every donation.

And as an added bonus, super male feminist ally Joss Whedon is making a special guest star appearance.

I met Seth several times at a local store. He's a pretty nice stoney dude.
I only know who half the people in this photo are, but he's not the offensively stupid one.

So Joss "I fucked around on my wife with every low level skank in show business until she finally divorced me" Whedon is shilling for something called #keepfamiliestogether?

Sometimes the fish just jump into the boat.

One fun fact to mention about Wheaton, is his mom petitioned people in the Star Trek Starfleet fan club to get Wil paid for some convention appearances in the early 90's. I think the promoter was a member of Starfleet and she thought by sending random people packets of photocopies of bad checks and pleas for help would work.

I think I still have that stuff somewhere.

Weeeeeeellll I may be :optimistic: but Will has been reading this thread as of late or the trolls have been poking him extra hard about adopting his 19 year old son.

He made a blog post recently on his website that details how the adoption happened and why.

He also tirades on how Twitter is "ruining humanity" and admits he's guilty of it too but you gotta "forgive him for how much he hates Nazis."

I will post select quotes below:

"... bout my almost-daily struggles to figure out why I had a once-promising acting career that had stalled out and wasn’t going anywhere."

"I feel like it has broken our society, and wrecked our social contract. I feel like the board at Twitter, and its CEO, Jack Dorsey, know this, but they’re too busy profiting from their inaction to care. May history judge them all the way they deserve."

"We imagined constellations, and named them, but were mostly quiet, too, until Ryan, still looking up at our imaginary planetarium, said, 'So I’ve been thinking about something…'

'Oh?' I said, 'What’s that?'

'I’ve been thinking a lot about how I am who I am because of you. I love science fiction and literature because you introduced it to me when I was little. I care about people because you taught me to be empathetic. You have always been more of a dad to me than my dad ever was … and I was hoping that you’d make it official, and adopt me.'

One of the laser points of light drifted across the ceiling, like a shooting star. I watched it and tried to process what I had just heard. Ryan’s dad had spent his entire childhood trying to convince Ryan to reject me. He wasted their whole lives to that point trying to make them pick sides in a battle that neither one of my kids wanted to be part of. At times, it felt like he was going to be successful, and a day would come when the children I did not make, but did raise as if they were my own, would never speak to me again.

And now, a day had come that I always dreamed of, but never actually expected to happen.

'Is that okay?'He asked. I didn’t realize that I’d been quiet for close to a minute, while I was trying to process that this was real, that this was really happening. I didn’t realize that tears were streaming out of the corners of my eyes, down the sides of my face, and pooling in my ears.

'Ryan, I would be honored to adopt you,' I said, thickly.

'Is it okay if I change my name, too?' He asked.

The tears turned to joyful sobs, and I told him that I would love that."
NOTE: I think this is legit sweet, Will may be a cow but he does deeply care for his family.

"I turned my mentions off a couple weeks ago, because even though I’m blocking over 25000 accounts, new shitty people are popping up every hour of every day, and taking advantage of their ability to reach into my life and try to hurt me."
LITERALLY OVER 20,000

“My God, people, Twitter is broken and it’s destroying our ability to see the humanity in each other. I know that I am guilty in that regard, but you’ll have to forgive me for how much I hate Nazis.”
Note: this is called hypocrisy Will

Wil's "promising acting career" stalled out before he was old enough to smoke. He's currently 45. You have two choices, dude, let it go or become an Adam West-esque reference.

As far as that Ryan kid goes, he seems pretty well put together. Must be his actual dad's influence.
