Day's character isn't even that bad in NV. If we can all put Burzum bumper stickers on our cars and agree it doesn't mean anything we can probably ignore Day's voice roles.
That's fair. I guess I'm glad they didn't make it obvious and obnoxious like in Dragon Age. But then, I've never replayed Dragon Age 2.

II is the best "film" of the series, but VI is the one that's pure Trek.
Undiscovered Country deserves way more love than it gets.

I wouldn't say IV is the most "trek", but it definitely recreated the 60's campy adventure feel of most of the TOS episodes. I thought VI was the most Trek in design/message/moral/thought, if not in execution.

May this never stop being funny:

I probably didn't make it as clear as I wanted, but I was just trying to reflect that New Vegas was made during that embarrassing pop-cultural period when "Nerd Culture" was getting big and it seemed like "geek" celebs and e-celebs were worming their way into everything.

I agree with this mostly, but the story of how Matthew Perry got a position in New Vegas is pretty great. He was on Ellen, promoting some new movie or whatever, and literally would not stop talking about Fallout 3. Obsidian called him up and was like "Uh, hey, we saw you like Fallout, you want to be in New Vegas?" and Matthew Perry was super fucking excited to do it.

Like, with all of the fake geek shit out there nowadays, I actually like Matthew Perry a lot for this.

I do too, although he probably underestimated the amount of people that wanted to crucify him after so many seasons of Friends.

Literally the "my wife's son" meme.

Yeah ironically at the time everyone was super jazzed to see “real geeks” like Wheaton and Day in the game and shit on Matthew Perry for being some “generic Hollywood celeb casting” (and also definitely the Friends typecasting).

And now here we are.

Edit: Also, Benny was pretty fucking annoying so I think that was part of the hate too

The funny thing is, Perry isn't any more a generic Hollywood celeb than anything else Bethesda did last gen. I mean does do people really like bored-Liam Neeson as their dad that much? And I think making Benny annoying was good for the character. He's kind of a small-time player with a lot of ego that basically digs his own grave. The thing is, Day and Wheaton were ultimately stunt casting. They didn't do anything that made them stand out from the other voice actors.

But I will take greater pleasure icing those Robobrains next time I play. Too bad Gary Owens (original voice of Space Ghost/narrator of Space Quest) isn't still around, now HE would have been great in a Fallout game.

I heard about this, but I didn't think it was for real. I mean, when a kid is 19, the little fucker should be out getting a job or going to college, not getting adopted like he's fucking nine years old. Dumb shit probably thinks that this will get him a huge inheritance when Wil kicks the bucket. :story:

Matthew Perry donates a lot of money to charity and has his own foundation to help recovering addicts.

Wil Wheaton thinks he's a hero because he renamed some characters from a board game to "helpers" so the word "slave" wouldn't offend anyone.

You know who would rename slaves "helpers" if they had the chance?

Slave owners.

The politically correct term is "Prisoners with Jobs"

The movie is literally an episode of Scooby Doo - who did the crime! It was those damned Federation kids! - down to the “taking off the rubber mask” at the end.

That bit was only added 'cause some dumbass forgot that they decided to make Klingon blood purple to placate the MPAA.
