Why do americans still use "feet" to measure height?

The short answer, is because we hate you more than you hate us.

Also, there are a lot of knock on measurements that we're not going to change just to soothe the egos of eurofags. For example, an acre furrow slice is 1 acre of soil at 1 inch depth. We use that, and the weight of so much soil, as a constant in ag science (not fag science, don't get excited euros). That's not being changed to however many centimeters are even appropriate, by a hectare and the associated kilograms.

The same goes for forestry and logging/lumber. Our models are based in the imperial system. We can take measurements of trees and estimate stand volumes in the imperial system. Could we then, do additonal math to convert this from a system we use, to one which we don't? Sure, but why should we?

I have a question, why can't eurofags mind their own business?

Most Americans are stupid and can’t handle the logic of a metric system. Even though all prescriptions are done in metric they have no fucking idea how to use the system and it’s even on their syringes.

They are morons. I use both systems in my work and metric is superior by orders of magnitude.

Logic is all well and good before you have to on-the-fly measure something and it turns out the French retards who came up with a meter didn't think to base it off of any physical body parts that enable you to do that.

Well retard; we are all different heights and so a foot is entirely subjective. I can just imagine an engineer or doctor using the retarded system you think is so good. “1/65th of a teaspoon nurse”.

Anything that is being measured on the fly is easier in cm and meters than feet. If it is so unimportant that it’s “4 feet” and you can’t translate that into 120 cm you’re a moron.

Anything that is OK to be as inaccurate as “on the fly” using feet then it really isn’t that important. No one who knows both systems has anything to say about the American system other than to laugh at its dysfunction.

fuck, i'm sick of this conversation from every midwit europeasant. since al gore created the internet the only thing you fags have done with it is invent being a furry and complain about units of measurement. you are santa's elves, you mystical clockwork bitches.
I utterly hate to admit this, but Furries are an American invention. The guys who made all those skeezy comics in the 70's were mostly based out of Philly, LA, and San Francisco.

The metric system always seemed overly complicated to me. They do teach it in school. But once you pass the test you just forget it because it's useless in Freedomland. Unless you are getting into something sciency it's absolutely useless in day to day life. I have no idea how much a kilometer is. Or how many kilograms I weigh. If I look it up I forget right after.

During the pandemic the 7-11 I went to had printed out signs with how far you needed to stand from each other in metric measurements. We use feet here. Thank you.

Yeah if you're gonna clown on the Imperial system mock the Bongs for still using stone to describe weight.
Literally every one of their colonies looked at that, said "that's fucking retarded" and went on to use pounds.

It's something like 14 lbs. What an odd unit of measurement. I think it would make more sense if it was 15 lbs because at least you counted by fives. Where did stone come from? I'm imaging some Bong grabbing an actual stone and saying "Oi guv'ner! I reckon 'e weighs about as much as this stone. Blimey bloody crumpets 'e does!" And then they all go out to have a pint or whatever Brits do for fun after weighing things.

Imagine measuring the ambient air temperature in a scale bounded to the behavior of water instead of a scale bounded by the rough limits of what the ambient air temperature can be expected to be, which are conveniently also the rough limits of what humans can survive.

I can tell, that in this moment, you are euphoric...

You divide by ten. It's not that people don't know how to use it, Megamind.

I don't use syringes myself, but I'm aware that the ones you buy at the local pharmacy are labeled in non-descript "units". I presume that's mililiters or cubic centimeters; but it's not a failing on the part of the end user for not parsing that out.
I use both systems in my work and metric is superior by orders of magnitude.
How many orders of magnitude? That's plural, so I assume two or more; making it at least 100 times better than the imperial system. How autistic. I bet those syringes you talked about were for your estrogen.

100. That’s right.

It’s not just conversions of lengths, it’s volumes as well. Some people rightly point out the poor performance of the average American in math and converting the system would be a great way to remedy that because it imparts practical use of math in everyday use.

Kids having troubles with cubic measurements, or understanding squares or cubed measures or orders of magnitude and algebra are all actually part of the system.

Everyday use of kilometers and meters impart use of the actual metric and decimal system. So you see the world in practical mathematical language.

6 mil plastic drop sheets actually start to mean something. 80 milligrams Starts to mean something. A engine with 5900 cc means something. A kid (not adult) in Europe can draw out and explain what the volume of a 5900 cc engine is and an American kid has no idea. A European kid can draw out a 3D representation of a liter of water and an American kid for a gallon points to a milk jug because he can’t draw it out. A kid in Europe can draw what a 6 ml or 123ml thick piece of plastic is and an American kid goes grabs copier paper to represent the thickness.

The world of America is already doused in many terms of the system without comprehension.

But your kids are thick as bricks. And one big reason is you use systems for measurement that are for village idiots that can only understand a foot or a bushel. Your system is actually helping them to remain and keep them fucking stupid.
