Let's Sperg What is the most kino game?

Vice City

I have to vote for Half Life 1, one of the greatest iconic games that revolutionize the gaming industry.

It has the best intro sequence, just showcasing the visual graphics that the Goldsrc engine has to offer.

The dialogue and sound effects are just top notch.

And finally icing on the cake, Valve actually represents the black community very well in the 90s, way before the DEI push.

Thief: The Dark Project, while good in it's own right, borders more towards the later half of the game with supernatural elements. While interesting, it feels less thief like, than it should. I liked it, but Thief 2 sticks out more because there's one level where you case the joint, then the next level you come back for even more loot where there are more enemies to avoid. This game doesn't encourage a run n' gun fight everything play style, but a slow tactful approach to steal as much as possible. It's an immersive sim, kind of like Deus Ex in a way. You don't need to play Thief 1 to play Thief 2 (if I recall correctly), Thief 3 I could never get to run properly, and just skip the reboot, it's very mid. If you like the gameplay overall of Thief, maybe play it once in your lifetime.
the ps4 version of thief is fucking dogshit

Metal Gear Rising seems way cooler than it actually is to play. I appreciate the originality of the whole system but on higher difficulties (very hard or revengeance) it becomes obvious how clunky the combat system actually can be. It's also obvious that stuff like stealth and a lot of items/auxillery weapons are vestiges of a point when it was going to be a different, more standard MGS entry. The whole thing doesn't feel entirely realized from an actual gameplay perspective.
The stealth is shallow as a puddle by the stealth kills at least feel satisfying where as the aux weapons and items are just a complete fucking joke. The games bread and butter is it's very satisfying parry system to the point lots of other aspects of the combat fall to the side. The gap between the boss fights and the regular level is huge but there's only so many times you can replay them before it becomes to easy. It's suffer the problems that effect most of the genre but chopping people into hundreds of tiny pieces and parry a boss's entire combo are always satisfying. The levels are forgettable while the boss fights at there best are unforgettable, kinda wish it would have just gone with a no more heros or furi set up, but then there would be many less people to cube.

ACTUAL kino game list:

Grezzo 2
The ultimate expression of Italian creativity, ingenuity, and blasphemy.
Grezzo_2_box_art.jpg

Tough Guy
You can play as Hitler's son and throw giant exploding swastikas in this game.

Real Lives 2007
Raised goiter awareness for an entire generation of shitposters.
900px-Real_lives-5.jpg

Dong Dong Never Die
A group of random Chinese amateurs make a fighting game with more soul than any fighting game since 2001. Their secret? Extremely loose combo timing, digitized actors, and a massive heap of good, old-fashioned Chinese plagiarism.

Daytona USA
The music and the sound effects alone epitomize the supreme attractiveness of arcade games at their peak in the mid to late 90s.

The Outfoxies
It's Smash Bros but not for gays. A versus multiplayer game that feels like the final battle sequence of a (good) Bond movie.

Big Ol' Bass 2
"MONSTER!" Good music, cool UI design, and an enthusiastic announcer can even make something like bass fishing exciting.

Gun Frontier
There are endless kino shmups from the same era as Gun Frontier, but it and its sequel(?) Metal Black stick in my mind as two of the most stylish of the lot.
no piece of bread was given.PNG

Unreal Tournament '99
Iconic in almost every single way. It was actually, factually, all downhill for multiplayer shooters from here on out.

Kaze no Notam
Zen and the art of hot air balloon riding.

Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast
The greatest dating sim/Ferrari commercial ever made.

Metal Slug 2
Fantastic art, pacing, and gameplay. More detail in half of one level than in the entire Ubisoft catalogue.

Goblet Grotto
One of many weird, aimless, Indie exploration games, but the best of its kind. Actually interesting dialogue, mechanics, and areas to explore.

Última edición:
i like seeing everyone autistically break down what game is kino to them

keep it going

Fossil Fighters
Like Pokémon, but instead of catching them you dig up fossils and then have dinosaur fights.

A-Train
A game about building and managing train lines, has a great soundtrack and scratches my autism itch.

OpenTTD
A-Train but free.

Kenshi
Just in case you haven't seen that one sseth video, here's my quick run-down:
It came out in 2018 but was in development for over a decade so it counts(?)

There are several scenarios a new player can choose at the begining of their run but it most often consists of being a half naked man in the middle of the desert with next to nothing in terms of supplies and equipment. The player is then either eaten alive, mugged or enslaved. It's a funny mix of a few different genres/styles. There's some RTS elements, a little bit of city building and a very prominent grindy RPG stat progression. The quickest way to describe it is a post apocalyptic open world sandbox. Really, it's a clusterfuck and a poorly designed game in several aspects, be it completely unimplemented game mechanics or stright up glitches that may or may not "enhance" your gaming experience.
Also combat looks like this:

(Non-vanilla screenshot with modded GUI and character items)

By the way did I mention mods? Some are absolutely necessary if you want the game to run better or manage unintentional bullshit gameplay.

Anyways, there's a good variety of factions within the world and races to play as, a few of them even having particular interactions with the other factions. For example, you can play as a humanoid robot (which is the best race in the game) but that means that the members of The Holy Nation will automatically become hostile towards you on sight. Also if you choose to build a base, do be aware of who your neighbors are BEFORE building.
Kenshi_Territory_Map(1).jpg

(Yes, Kenshi fans are autistic enough to make maps illustrating every faction's sphere of influence)

Most people recommend this game by telling you about the shenanigans, abuse and violence their characters went through with a sense of mirth evocative of an old man reminiscing on the good ol days; for the sake of brevity, I'll refrain from doing so. That, however, should illustrate to any prospective victim player that Kenshi is a game that finds creative ways to make the story as you go along, dealing with your current circumstances and interacting with the environment around you.

I played the shit out of Kenshi and really enjoyed my time with it. If you haven't played it, pirate it and see what you think.

since i haven’t posted mine yet my kino game is sonic unleashed followed by wolverine origins as a close second

Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
A boy enters a quarantined zone and makes a Faustian pact with an entity to resurrect a sacrificed girl by slaying sixteen beasts that each house part of the entity's soul. Loneliness, curses, sacrifice, and cruel twists of fate.

In the early 2000s every action movie had a shitty licensed video game tie in. Typically they are uninspired retreads of the current theater story developed by well known teams just trying to get a paycheck while they put their real effort into their own projects. However when we got a family friendly x men wolverine origin movie, instead of a phoned in cash grab game we received a brutal devil may cry inspired spectacle fighter.

Starwars revenge of the sith was an uninspired cash grab of the theater script so much so that its release ahead of the film screening spoiled major events in the movie. What it did have though was an additional multiplayer mode that was one of the best fighting games of it's time.

Finally the greatest need for sneed of all time. Branching the racial divide with a legendary soundtrack for both niggers and whitey.

Manhunt 1

I can kill
>Niggers
>Mexicans
>Pedophiles and wife beaters( mentally ill)
>White trash
> A fat jew
>Zogs
>A psycho cannibal who wears a pig costume

the journalist kinda ruined the game for a little, but it would have fun to brutally kill her too

Resident Evil 4.

It's kino because you can roundhouse kick, supplex, blow the heads off of cultists infected with a hive mind bug parasite and along the way hang with goofy spanish man and hot asian babe. While doing all of this Leon is shit talking and dropping the rawest 80s movie one liners in the face of death.

It also features the greatest quicktime event ever.

Jagged Alliance 1, DG & 2
The personalities of the mercs makes this amazing. The way they interact with each other, like each other, hate each other, sometimes murder each other (Reuben was really missed after the first game, what a psychopath) and the way the relationship changed betwen games (In DG Lynx and Buzz were friends and even lovers, they broke up, so in the second game Buzz spews out a ton of anti-male sexism and if you have her and Lynx in the squad it's a war of words). In 1995 it was just amazing to have talking soldiers with a personality, X-Com came out a year before and the soldiers there are voiceless, faceless cannon fodder for example.
Also some really funny moments, like sending flowers to Deidranna in JA2.
It's one of the best turn based strategy games ever. Also has a really great modding scene (JA2 especially of course with 1.13)

JA3 is ok too, but nowhere near the level of JA2 but of course better than all the dreadful crap that came in between.
