I’m 2 episodes into X-Men 97 Season 2 and it make me legitimately feel like MY BOOMER FATHER and his bewilderment and visible disdain for my nerdy tastes. My father would call Star Wars “Star Bores” and Star Trek “Star Dreck” and encourage me to watch a John Wayne movie or History Channel’s 6 Part Documentary on Douglas MacArthur. Note: I LOVE MY DAD I’m not hating on him this is just how he is.

I’m getting off track these two episodes fucking suck, it’s just characters standing around dumping lore and maybe two minutes of action scenes. I’m beginning to question if I ever liked X-Men or comics.

Simply put either X-Men 97 Season 2 is AWFUL or like the only good commercials in recent memory I am becoming my parents… I remember thinking Season 1 was admirably decent. I feel Season 2 is painfully obsessed with being serious when X-Men should be fun.

In my experience, modern media like xmen 97 is best watched out of the corner of your eye while your attention is divided elsewhere. Which is probably the way most modern media especially animation is designed to be absorbed. For the young gen z to a minds it's cause their attention spans have been fragged by the likes of cocomelon and baby shark. For ours? It's cause it's not worth our full attention if you try and watch x men 97, or any animated work made the last decade, maybe more. Without having a second screen to glance over at. You get the same feelings you have now.


P.s. And I'm not saying doing this makes the product any better, it makes the experience less painful to sit thru. Like getting novicane for a root canal.

Someone already said this when this shit first leaked, but it's actually hilarious that Korra fucked things up so badly that the world literally ended. Proving once and for all that putting women in charge of things is a really bad idea.

In theory the idea was probably a means to justify an avatar setting that went back to the limited technology of the "ancient" world of the 1st series. Since Korra made everything on par with the real world in the 1920s with some references to the modern one like cabbage Corp as a parody of apple.


But yes in order to get that setting they had to go with "post apocalyptic " which leads to Korra canonically being the worst avatar of them all, the one who almost ended the world and plunged it back to zero, and her being a girl was the cherry on top.
