The Kickstarter for Chimptopia started yesterday. It seems to be trending towards full funding, and it does look more promising than what was previously shown.

The animation has more personality than I was expecting. The static camera, poses, and oversized background are still a far cry from the quality they were lampooning in their original announcement trailer however. The musical segment and monotone delivery give me second hand cringe.
I know everyone hates Glitch and Spindlehorse because they're overrated and their fans are incredibly annoying but at least those shows have unique visual styles. This shit is almost more unique by virtue of how forgettable it looks.

Reminder that it's spinoff planes had a flash back to ww2...which implies there was a car version of Hitler in their world.The world of Cars raises many, many questions...
It's honestly surreal to see king of the hill blatantly mentioning....that in the open like that. This show had an entire episode revolving around a porno tape hank was accused of renting 30 years ago and it was shocking if only cause it was the first time a network tv show and an animated one at that refferenced that sort of thing.
But at least that sort of thing was mainstream at the time. had been for decades.
Speaking of that episode are you surprised? It shows bill has always been like this. He's just changed his habits from 3D to 2D in 30 years

You know what enables the fans to be incredibly annoying? The creators, because they just WILL. NOT. SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP. I guarantee you they wouldn't be getting nearly the amount of "hate" they currently do if they stopped being terminally online and just put the cartoons on the goddamn internet.

I don't really know much about the "drama" because I didn't really care but if you're going to put your politics on something as a right-winger, it better be good so lefties can't use it to shit on your side. If you're going to insult a another animator who's been on the platform for a long time your clip better have better camera angles than fucking Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
What we got was embarrassingly mediocre.
Admittedly it's going to be under more scrutiny because they advertised it by comparing it to Gameoverse, but what I've seen so far does not have nearly the merit that show does.
If you only support something because of identity politics and not for merit, it will coast farther than it deserves to.

On the food part I was originally going to say that it might work like how it does in the Thomas & Friends universe where them having a "drink" is somebody putting water into their boiler and them "eating" is having coal put into their firebox (for the diesel engines, diesel fuel acts as both) but then I remembered that scene in Cars 2 where there's actual human food at a party...
For the "how are there child cars in the Cars universe" part though this one's more easily explainable. I always believed that it works like the Robots movie universe where the "parent" cars order a "child" car that, while keeping their base car design, with every major life stage they have to go to a car hospital to upgrade their outer parts while also slightly modifying their engine/brain so it fits with the new body until they're fully "grown".

I’m 2 episodes into X-Men 97 Season 2 and it make me legitimately feel like MY BOOMER FATHER and his bewilderment and visible disdain for my nerdy tastes. My father would call Star Wars “Star Bores” and Star Trek “Star Dreck” and encourage me to watch a John Wayne movie or History Channel’s 6 Part Documentary on Douglas MacArthur. Note: I LOVE MY DAD I’m not hating on him this is just how he is.
I’m getting off track these two episodes fucking suck, it’s just characters standing around dumping lore and maybe two minutes of action scenes. I’m beginning to question if I ever liked X-Men or comics.
Simply put either X-Men 97 Season 2 is AWFUL or like the only good commercials in recent memory I am becoming my parents… I remember thinking Season 1 was admirably decent. I feel Season 2 is painfully obsessed with being serious when X-Men should be fun.
