Does that mean Stella will get a backstory to show how she became to be now? Or is she still going to get the flat characterization of "she was born a bitch"?
Remember, everyone has a humanizing sad backstory except the villains, they are rotten to the core.
And for the record, I dont mind when a villain isnt given any sympathetic backstory but there is a "right" way of doing it. And Vizzie is absolutely inconsistent with it.
If they are "good", they have a tragic backstory.
If they are "evil", they get none of that and little to not humanization.
For all talk about how adult cartoons are so "adult" and "complex", most of them have very similar inner workings of children cartoons, not even good ones that try some moral ambiguity and complexity.
It all comes back to, "they can swear and talk about sex" as the only differential between adult and children cartoons.
The more likely answer is that she did have a boyfriend, but she exaggerated on how terrible he was.
So...basically the average dating experience with a modern liberal woman?
"Whats up with liberal women and rape? You see it all over their romance novels, social media feeds and divorce court testemonies. They sure fucking love to add it even when its not present. I mean, god forbid if we get a modern remake of the three little piggies, a story about a big hunky wolf chasing three helpless plump creatures to 'eat them' is just asking to have some rape added! And I know there is a non zero chance that one of my female audience members, -I know you exist- just finished hearing that and said 'fuck, thats hot' and has just ran off to the bathroom. Ladies, I cant believe Im gonna say this but there are better ways to tell your man you want him to make you fear for your life briefly during climax! But dont forget that the one who is getting brought to the police department later sure aint gonna be you!"
