Nu-Xcom games suck, same thing for games in that vein, and this doesn't look to be different considering its Disney Star Wars and they are obsessed with churning the same stories with the same characters that are uncool.
I simply don't understand why someone would make a Tatics Strategy Logistics hybrid game and simplify it's Tatics, Strategy and Logistics system instead of deepening them.

They promised they would do this on Kickstarter because of mental retardation, even if they probably could have gotten away with scamming people, it's good that they didn't. Also they don't seem to be hurting for money considering the fact that they were in no rush to make or even publish more games after Gunvolt.

On one hand, there have been times where directors inserted themselves or were involved with making their own game, i.e. Chris Metzen voicing Thrall, but Zelnick having "My Way" by Frank Sinatra as his entrance music (and it's exclusive to him only and can't be used with other Wrestlers), his crowd reaction is Cheer, personality is Bold, and the dedicated commentary lines for him is on its own level. Even Neil Druckmann inserting himself into The Last of Us Part II with the "Dr. Uckmann" card seems light compared to this.

Clearly, he did this because he has a big ego, did he not realize what kind of game he put himself into? Create-a-wrestler is pretty infamous for a-logs pretending to beat people up.

Unrelated, I'm having a hard time finding a game to really pull me in. I have a dozen titles all on the go but nothing screaming MUST PLAY. It's very depressing. I've heard good things about Clair Obscur, does it live up to the hype? And, what are some games that really got you immersed and wanting to do nothing but play them for a long while?

Exsneedition 33 is pretty good but as a Final Fantasy X fan I saw the twist coming a billion miles away.

The story beats are very reminiscent of past JRPGs you've probably already played. They might even be direct references actually since the devs are genre fans.

If you don't care about that you'll have a decent time.

It also added more fuel to the flames because people criticized WWE 2K26 for pushing the Sports Game greediness even further with the MyFaction changes, The Island on PC, and the Battle Pass. And this was also after Visual Concepts laid off staff on the WWE 2K Team after the Netflix version of WWE 2K26 and 2K27 were cancelled. The Netflix games are just stripped down versions of the WWE 2K Games that require a Netflix subscription to play.

I could debate that last point, but I don't feel like it because I like all those games anyway, and either way the answer is that VII came out at the right time and place. VII is the FF with the most amount of players who don't care about any other FF or even any other JRPG. IV and VI came out during a time where only a tiny group of nerds were playing RPGs on SNES outside Japan. Then VII came out with marketing from Sony showing off its amazing graphics (y'know, for the time) and got a tons of normalfags to buy and play it, causing FFVII to become the default JRPG to many people. And then IX passed under the radar for many outside Japan because of the combination of the PS2 being out to grab attention away and IX being a stylistic throwback that was alienating to those normalfag players who were only familiar with VII and VIII.
 
Anyone tried LumenTale: Memories of Trey, that monster catcher by some team that did Pokémon Xenoverse? Apparently it's basically a Pokemon game with the serial numbers filed off, only, without the enshittification that hit the actual Pokemon series.

It was the first FF game, if not first JRPG, that decided to try and capture what we'd now call the Halo or Fortnite crowd. That's why they care. It represents an early example of the industry giving up on it's fans to search for the ~modern audience~.
 
The console wars of the 90s need to be brought back with car stickers of Calvin pissing on the Sega logo. I think this will provide a great sense of nostalgia because there used to be stickers of Calvin pissing on things in the 90s, there was a console war in the 90s, so the logical combination is car stickers of Calvin pissing on the Sega logo.

And while I understand that the decision to exclusively have stickers of Calvin pissing on Sega might seem a little one-sided, I guarantee you that both sides of the 90's console war, be it people who think Sega should be pissed on and people who merely think the Genesis they got for Christmas should be thrown in the fucking garbage because it's music sounded like bloody farts from a dying mule, they can always unify briefly to beat the shit out of any hipster asshole playing a 3DO.

There is literally no downside.
