Trying to get through Spider-Man 2 (the new one not the classic) and it's.. fine. The side content is pretty awful, with what feels like half of it revolving around Miles and the impressive number of gay and disabled people he knows, including a thrilling mission where you play as his deaf love interest as she spray paints flowers on walls. The set piece missions are pretty neat, but I feel like I've mostly seen what it has to offer gameplay wise already and the game says I've only done 43% of the game.

Well, finished Starcom (2) - odd mix of very meh, yet captivating you to gobble up more resourced that are recycled when you rebuild your shitp and so on. Freedom to build our your dream space battleshitp vs quirky voiced dialog and tons of humor of Star Control? I'll pick the latter, especially since it had fuel as a consumable and thus all your voyages and ship upgrades had a meaning and potential cost instead of just a static time burn. And overall the alien races were total cheap imitations with limitations of clear inspiration from Star Control.

Newer-than-ps1 games were 90% about slinging through NYC, 99% if you've ever been there and can self-sperg about flying over a bodega you got that chopped cheese at that one time, and then about repetitive fighting and annoying-ass end-game enemies like in most games. If you're paying attention to all the gay shit, you're missing the core beauty of the game.
 
I wonder if Wolverine will be any better at all than Insomniac's Spider-Man games. We already know it's gay but I still wonder if they'll improve some of the little things.
My most hated thing in their Spider-Man games is the boss fights being extremely repetitive and lasting 4x longer than they should so the characters can shout exposition at each other.
You can have a little exposition in your boss fight, but Insomniac's are just the same shit attacks repeated 20 times so Spider-Man can yell I TRUSTED YOU! like a weepy rape victim and the guy he's punching can yell YOU WERE A FOOL TO TRUST ME! back at him. It's fucking boring and bad writing and bad game design.

Here's a tip for you. You want to do the Carnage, Sandman, and serial killer side quests (which are all Peter content) and ignore all of Mile's content. Miles does not have any good side quests.
 
The future of video games looks bright if we neglect the AI hiccups (Fable 5, but I don't think it will last long, shit is too good and any company wants access now = impossible to contain). It only takes a single Chud with at least 3 digit IQ to split a game idea to modular code blocks and a smart dialogue/asset folder management to keep it kosher and in the end swap assets to make a Gigachud TND simulator that is so based no game will be worth playing anymore, it will make anything look cucked.

Here is a guy doing a few prompts with not a single code read, just "make this" prompts... the game market crash will be glorious. I hope every single current game dev suffer greatly.

Honestly I'm not very impressed by these demos. Someone with a little bit of knowledge could make the same thing in Unreal or Unity in less than a day, it will look a lot better and you will actually understand how it works so you can add to it.

No torturing of prompts needed.

Not that AI code generation doesn't have a lot of promise it's just not ready for prime time yet.

I'm playing through it at the moment and I'd definitely agree with that. Mile's sidequests are woke-slop to the point of being eyerollingly on the nose sometimes.

Miles in general is less interesting than Peter so far because his story feels much "smaller", if that makes sense.
 
I haven't been keeping up with Halo Campaign Evolved since I have no intention of playing it but a video popped up in my recommended detailing some things from a recent play test. Calling this thing a "remake" is an outright lie. It's a UE5 coat of paint over Halo Reach with some animations and assets from 3 and Infinite. The only good thing I noticed is how customizable things like the UI are, every thing else looks like a straight downgrade of a 25 year old game. I know Microsoft is shamelessly greedy and lazy but this seems extreme even for them. I genuinely regret trading in my original Halo game discs as a teen.

Halo has been such a patchy franchise throughout it's history that I'm surprised MS didn't can it at some stage along the way.

They really want Master Chief to be their recognized mascot but every second game is shite. The story is utterly fucking wank because sci fi fucking sucks.

The last time I put any real time into it was the MP in Infinite but I gave up after a while because there were fuck all maps and a bunch of stuff tied into a battlepass.

So they haven't remade the game, they've just changed all the technology and assets from the original. What an outrage.
 
Do it then, make something based that makes the gayming market less gay.

The hard thing isn't doing the coding. I can do that easily especially with the modern tools available.

The hard thing is the art/animation/level design etc. I can actually do some 3d modeling as well but it's like 2 full time jobs to try and put that stuff together for a game yourself. And I have a real job.
