Just getting to the last chapter of Luna Abyss and read today the entire team has been laid off by MS.
I wonder why Luna Abyss is also getting the layoffs....

The future of video games looks bright if we neglect the AI hiccups (Fable 5, but I don't think it will last long, shit is too good and any company wants access now = impossible to contain). It only takes a single Chud with at least 3 digit IQ to split a game idea to modular code blocks and a smart dialogue/asset folder management to keep it kosher and in the end swap assets to make a Gigachud TND simulator that is so based no game will be worth playing anymore, it will make anything look cucked.

Here is a guy doing a few prompts with not a single code read, just "make this" prompts... the game market crash will be glorious. I hope every single current game dev suffer greatly.

bro wants the ai slop games

With iterations, in less than a week you can make a indie game better than 99% of what's on the market and in month you can probably even make something in the same experience of a PS2/2010 game with modern performance/QoL features without telling it was AI generated (I assume you test before and after before adding anything).

TLDR I unironically love the "AI slop" code, it's better than human slop code.

Ignoring all the AI simulator games, what the fucks with the new 'X Together' trend? Don't scream together, dont' die together, don't get lost together, gamble together, study together, do everything together. And they either copied the art direction from Peak, Schedule I or the fucking muppets.

Does anybody else feel like the inflated price of games nowadays is hurting shorter experiences?

When I played Resident Evil Requiem my clear time was 7:38 and realistically it was probably closer to six hours when you subtract cutscenes and the cinematic walking stuff in Grace's side of the campaign.

I had this really sour taste in my mouth when I finished it and it had nothing to do with the actual quality of the game.

I'm a huge RE fan and what was there I really enjoyed but I just couldn't stop thinking that it was not an adequate amount of content for $70.

A game could be a 100 hour epic and I still won't pay 80-100 dollars for it. I've effectively been priced out of new games, so it's a good thing I have zero scruples over pirating and waiting to play stuff til a later date.

So what the fuck is Microsoft even trying to do with Ninja Theory? Compulsive and Double Fine probably would just go back to being indie studios. But they keep pushing the sequel to hellblade.

The protagonist of the Hellblade series is a brown lesbian with schizophrenia.

That's practically catnip to Blackrock types.

What they're probably doing is taking woke investor shekels and then shutting the studio down anyways which is actually pretty based.

Weren't they gonna shut down after hellblade? The studio was already in a broken state

Lol, Senua is a porridge wog, shes not brown. She's also not a lezzer, she spends the whole game carrying around the severed head of the bloke who murdered her bf.

Definitely schizo though!

I do see your point about the dei quota, sorta.

Is there seriously any regular video game enjoyer out there in real life that demands for this faggotry be inserted in every game he/she plays?
There are people out there who make "what makes my genitals swell up with blood" their entire personality, so I can imagine they hoot like a chimp when they see references in games. But in reality it's all them wanting to push their beliefs onto the culture. They know they're not normal but if they can change what normal means then they win.

Plus there are usually cool hidden keys in the code base you can use to get free money!

I feel video games now incorrectly relate time with pricing. If a game's runtime is 100 hours, even if it's say $20, I may not feel my time was properly valued. Multiplayer games are another story since you're interacting with other players.

That's true, but I'm gonna be especially picky and mad if a game doesn't value my time and it cost 100 dollars. There are like two companies that have earned their full price game status from me, the rest I will happily not play or pirate years later.
