That's already happening. MoRon's first response basically threw everyone but MoRon under the bus. I was actually kind of surprised at how dumbly it did that. I am amazed at Casey's lack of long term strategy. I hope he got all his money up front because he has NO long-term strategy and blew his load with his initial filing.

I think it is a risky strategy, but let me outline what it would seem to me to be the facts:
1: The case for MoRon is unwinnable. You know it, I know it. Casey Knows it. MoRon do not know it.
2: Due to 1, MoRon refuses to settle.
3: Casey probably hates MoRon, and is putting in minimal effort. This is lazy, unprofessional, etc.... but is fairly obvious.
4: Casey IS still a professional.

So, Casey knows he cannot win this case, he knows that these idiot clients of his are idiots, and probably didn't realize right away because they lied their asses off to him. They haven't asked him to do anything outright illegal yet or anything he could really drop them like the radioactive shit streak they are. So, what is his strategy? To lose, and to try to pull as many big-money players down with him as possible, so that when it comes time to split the check his terrible clients can lose as little as possible.

It explains that filing to some degree. I can't claim it explains just HOW terrible it is, but it explains his selective ommissions and why he effectively highlights how everyone else needs to go buswards. If I can speculate a bit farther than the evidence, I also suspect he is hoping Funi doesn't settle. Perhaps he figures that if they hire on peop[le like Monica AND Marchi, their top brass might just be complete idiots too?

I get this impression from a number of these big city superlawyers that lawyers who are not from or practicing in these same cities are pond scum not worth talking to. That's certainty the impression I get from this guy, Zaid, Avenatti and a few others.

Nick said it once. People think lawyers are these super bright, gifted people who do God's work. They are not, they are ordinary people who do a specialized job. They are no different from any other asshole except for their job and the responsibilities that job entails. There are as many scummy shitheels and embarrassments to their profession as there are good, honest, competent lawyers. A lot of these guys equate being good at their job with being able to make comments on cases or political/science matters and being an authority on it. That is simply not the case, and these two are a great example of this.
