Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

That's already happening. MoRon's first response basically threw everyone but MoRon under the bus. I was actually kind of surprised at how dumbly it did that. I am amazed at Casey's lack of long term strategy. I hope he got all his money up front because he has NO long-term strategy and blew his load with his initial filing.

Please, Nick, at some point say what you think his strategy was, because I am absolutely baffled as to what the fuck Casey's intention was with that pile of gibberish.
I think I know what the strategy is, and it clicked with your post on the next page from the comment quoted. The strategy... is to lose. No, seriously.
I think it is a risky strategy, but let me outline what it would seem to me to be the facts:
1: The case for MoRon is unwinnable. You know it, I know it. Casey Knows it. MoRon do not know it.
2: Due to 1, MoRon refuses to settle.
3: Casey probably hates MoRon, and is putting in minimal effort. This is lazy, unprofessional, etc.... but is fairly obvious.
4: Casey IS still a professional.

So, Casey knows he cannot win this case, he knows that these idiot clients of his are idiots, and probably didn't realize right away because they lied their asses off to him. They haven't asked him to do anything outright illegal yet or anything he could really drop them like the radioactive shit streak they are. So, what is his strategy? To lose, and to try to pull as many big-money players down with him as possible, so that when it comes time to split the check his terrible clients can lose as little as possible.

It explains that filing to some degree. I can't claim it explains just HOW terrible it is, but it explains his selective ommissions and why he effectively highlights how everyone else needs to go buswards. If I can speculate a bit farther than the evidence, I also suspect he is hoping Funi doesn't settle. Perhaps he figures that if they hire on peop[le like Monica AND Marchi, their top brass might just be complete idiots too?

Yeah. Maddox commit perjury and nothing happened to him.
According to that Cohen lawyer, Nick commited a crime by telling Sabat he should maybe talk to Ty about a deal so some of his skeletons don't come out of the closet....

I've wrangled with this Cohen fellow before on Twitter. He's not particularly bright. My guess, knowing Nick, is that Nick is inferring based on publicly available information, that Nick has some ace up his sleeve that would protect him should this apparent violation be called.

Yea that was what I got from it, the fact that any question can be asked and must be answered was where Nick was going with that things would come out in the deposition if asked that Chris may not want to come out.

Mark my words, I think we just found the attorney for Iago (Sabat). If this guy is starting to come out of the woodwork now, Iago must fear what is coming out of MoRon.

This was Nick's response.

BTW, if you read that thread, this guy Cohen has to constantly emphasise how he "doesn't care about this kid lawyer" over and over and over.
-So report him- Nah, I don't care
-Ok, so talk to him- No, I have better things to do, I don't care
-So why are you involved- Because I don't think he's competent, but I totally don't care.
This is some highschool level faggotry to downplay his involvement.

More and more "Super Lawyer" is becoming the legal world's version of "I'm a spec-ops navy seal sniper with 300 confirmed kills."
I mean... it is literally called "Super Lawyer". I could come up with a ton of better names than that, since "super Lawyer" just shrieks "I am a pompous ass with more money and arrogance than talent and sense".

Its like you say. Law Twitter is a mixed bag of competent attorneys talking about legal issues in their practice and the way that current events are affected vs a whole mess of attorneys using it to pimp their biglaw brands. This one feels like he's trying to pimp his brand off not being some yokel from Minnesota and get some kudos for it. Its very slimey and very sloppy.

Not that the rest of his twitter feed is much better.

I get this impression from a number of these big city superlawyers that lawyers who are not from or practicing in these same cities are pond scum not worth talking to. That's certainty the impression I get from this guy, Zaid, Avenatti and a few others.

I find it sad some of the lawyers involved in this whole mess are more clownshoes than the most pathetic ones portrayed in John Grisham novels.

Reality truly is more bizarre than fiction.

Nick said it once. People think lawyers are these super bright, gifted people who do God's work. They are not, they are ordinary people who do a specialized job. They are no different from any other asshole except for their job and the responsibilities that job entails. There are as many scummy shitheels and embarrassments to their profession as there are good, honest, competent lawyers. A lot of these guys equate being good at their job with being able to make comments on cases or political/science matters and being an authority on it. That is simply not the case, and these two are a great example of this.

More and more "Super Lawyer" is becoming the legal world's version of "I'm a spec-ops navy seal sniper with 300 confirmed kills."

If I had to choose which of those two things I would believe I would opt for the "I'm a spec-ops navy seal sniper with 300 confirmed kills."
I would also bet that those "superlawyers" are literally twitter signalling "I'm available, senpai notice me" to those who will be involved in round two of this lolsuit.

Even if MoRon/Marchi commit perjury I doubt they'd get sent to jail. Hell I doubt their jail time would be long.
They wouldn't go to jail even if they stabbed a bailiff in open court, because our justice system cares far more about dispensing with lolcows with an absolute minimum of engagement than it does about any of the piddly little rules that have accumulated over the last couple centuries.
