Flowey's dialogue when he runs out of voiceclips is clearly a nod to Knuckle Sandwich; a dogshit game that starts with an interesting premise and spends the rest of the runtime backing away from it and doing nothing in particular.
The creator of KS is even on the DELTARUNE team.

Mad Mew Mew would've been a little better if we lived in the timeline where Toby Fox wasn't willing to sell his bussy to Nintendo and grant the Switch version of Undertale an entirely exclusive boss so it was actually something new. (Pretty sure that the Switch version of Deltarune has unique minigames too).

Suselle existing isn't what people are being blindsided by, it's the execution.

It's so over-the-top and progressing way too fast while fucking up the characterization to a degree that Ch 2 could only hope to achieve. It's like if you juiced up the ferris wheel scene on steroids then made Susie suddenly act like Noelle for the rest of the chapter.

It comes off as either cartoonishly incompetent romance writing or intentionally overbearing and frustrating so as to make the audience sympathize with Kris essentially being forcefully cucked by his best friend.

Susie when she's around Noelle is basically a completely different character, and not a better one.

I dont mind them, I prefer kris x susie cause I like their dynamic but suselle is nice, I used to fangirl about kris Noelle too but it was not meant to be

She’s a hyperactive kid who’s also pretty crazy/dumb. Little moments like her twirling and bouncing on people’s heads were nice. People find her cute but for me she was disappointing compared to what fanworks put out.

She makes every darkner in chapter 5 look like a fungus-infested ball of smegma in comparison.
Yes, she's an incredibly overused trope, but at the very least she isn't a they/them tumblr blob like the rest.

Probably copyright/credit/other legal issues. I don’t know if royalties apply to designs but getting rights/permission is probably a major headache, not to mention “Hey why didn’t you use this? Why didn’t you use this design with that one?”
