Anyone know some other media that teaches you what not to do in creative work?

So far, I have Deltarune Chapter 5, Dustborn, Steven Universe, The Last of Us 2, YIIK, Assassin's Creed: Shadows, and Dragon Age: Veilguard, but those are mostly examples of shitty progressive writing. I'd also like some works that are plainly terrible.

The Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door teaches what not to do in a remake. Heavily censored dialogue that was already kid-friendly to begin with, one of the main characters is retconned into a tranny (Mario game btw), hire-this-man-style graphics/animations, animations that got censored because the Game Grumps joked about the Evil Mustache Man, and balance changes that nobody asked for, all in a package that’s hardcoded to run at half the frame rate of the original in a best-case scenario.

So not only you get forcefully treated as a third wheel for Noelle and Susie in Chapter 5, but Susie and Ralsei go out of their way to ruin probably the only date you can have in the game that is not Susie. Textbook example of having the cake and eating it too. It really is just a constant humilliation ritual for Kris.

To add more insult to injury. Apparently after the secret boss fight against Mad Mew Mew, you can have a "chance" to get a date with her. But Ralsei and even Susie ruins any chance you can have with her, completely unprovoked.

I never understood the obsession with "dating" and "flirting" in undertale and deltarune, besides just being a "woah isn't it so silly you are dating instead of fighting, how uncommon from an rpg!" It was just kind of weird, doubly so in UT where Frisk is a child.

Well, to be fair. In Undertale, dating is treated as just a hangout, since Papyrus is too stupid to really piece together on what a date exactly is, he only got the information through books from the library and even then, Papyrus just rejects you because he doesn't feel anything that way towards Frisk, as he should.

The absolute state of stuff like this makes me slightly sorry for animators and music composers, they put their sweat and blood (and tears, especially tears) into making it look good but they're being paid to just cover a gigantic piece of shit in a slight film of gold.

I think the main ERROR this chapter has is that it just feels like formulaic microwaved chapter 1 with a higher budget. I DONT want to just have every chapter be "quirky character makes you fight quirky people because a quirky lighter got into the dark world"

DR is Toby's magnum opus made from a fever dream he had. it's meant to be played with knowledge of UT given the connections between the two. Unfortunately, what was once a promising darker follow up to UT has only gotten worse and indulged in more and more faggotry. All I can say is, I think it will end up being Toby's "Megalopolis".
