I'm thinking about it, is Aqua the only major character this chapter that actually fits the Japanese theme? Sure there's some enemies but I'm not counting that. Aqua is the only one that actually seems like she was designed with a that theming in mind. Even then, she just looks vaguely like a Yokai. I guess you could argue Flowery is Japanese because he's anime? For a Wapanese person, Toby sucks at designing Japanese themed characters. Even just some kimonos would of gone a long way to make the theming not feel completely wasted.

I also wish the fact that they're flowers was empathized more. Even if it was just the hair or something. Most of them just look like Steven Universe gems.

Apparently from what I've heard there's a weird route "Chapter 7 side B" if you go through with it on Chapter 5. Now I haven't played the Chapter 5 Weird Route yet, but will it permanently fuck up your other save files? Is this another Undertale scenario where if you do something it permanently gets messed up (at the very least are your NON-weird route save files okay?)
 
A lot of the dialogue was repetitive to the point it almost felt like an AI was writing it. Yeah I get it whatever, "Very, very interesting" is a Gaster meme, it doesn't however make it seem like it was written by the hand of a human when it feels like every fucking character keeps saying it.

I love that shit in stories. There's the concept of head voice vs heart voice in writing. Heart is appealing emotionally to your readers/viewers through characters, while Head is teaching them something that is factually true. Both are necessary for reader/viewer engagement.

If you are enthusiast about something, you tend to mention or at least follow and respect its logic.
Usually, I'm not demanding 100% perfect accuracy, otherwise I'd be hating on Hollow Knight and look like a complete fucking retard to do such.
Same cannot be said when something truly sucks ass, in presence of greatness, lesser criticisms comes out as pointless nitpickimg while in its absence, its just another bullet ready to be loaded and fired.

Apparently one of the outcomes gets you a permanent mark in all your save files.

Ibis paint is weird with black lines so I just used the color I was using to make the lines apparent in the layer.

Anyways I used the same color of the water in the game. @Noto Bok

Now they're drowning in tea. I was gonna make the water blue but it's not how the atmosphere is in-game since it's sunset.

I’m almost done with the normal route, haven’t done weird yet. I just wanted to say…

I hate Toby so goddamn much. Not in a funny-haha “oh that stinker” kinda of way, I genuinely hate him. If this doesn’t get better fast, I may end up dropping the game entirely. Never, ever trust a gooner.
 
Also, can I just say, after all the hints they drop that the secret boss was going to be a cat, I was getting really excited for a FRIEND fight... and then, of course, it's just mad mewmew again.
 
At this point, I'm all-in on a few things.
1) Ralsei is UT Flowey.
2) Deltarune is a Simulation.
3) Susie is an outsider to the Simulation.
4) Something is forcing Susie to take Kris/the original hero's spot in the prophecy.

My sole interest in this game is seeing if my schizotheories will come true or not. Sure would be nice if we got any real sort of confirmation to anything major now we're 5/7ths the way to the end of the fucking story! For all we know DRIVING IN MY CAR Asgore was what he was talking about the entire chapter with his vagueposting.
The original prophecy to me is probably something like:

THE FIRST HERO.THE CAGE, WITH HUMAN SOUL AND PARTS!: The Vessel
THE SECOND HERO.THE GIRL, WITH HOPE CROSSED ON HER HEART.: Noelle
THE THIRD HERO. THE PRINCE, ALONE IN DEEPEST DARK: Kris

The Vessel is obvious for the cage, considering you literally make it from human parts.
The Girl being Noelle is also pretty solid, considering that she seems to fit in with the idea of the prophecy a lot more seamlessly than Susie.
The Prince I'm pretty sure is meant to be Kris, who naturally feels alone in the darkest point of his life, and his parents were the Flower King and Queen.
So somebody fucked shit up by adding Susie to the mix, and then somehow this caused Ralsei to happen as well. (Considering Suzy is mentioned by the Goners in Undertale, it's possible that she's also from Undertale directly, just like Ralsei?)
Anything to take my mind off of this fucking troonslop chapter.

There are many people who feel like Undertale Yellow's True Pacifist ending where Clover fucking kills himself is a bad ending that comes out of nowhere, but now, I think Clover had a prophetic vision of the future that he, or a version of himself would grow up to be a faggot cowboy that wants to fuck a gay blue nigger so he topped himself.
We've reached a stage where Toby can now just be utterly outdone by fanworks, Yellow blows this shit out of the fucking water.

I loved Yellow all the way until the exposition dump with fox girl and the lab and the plot twist, I literally just ditched the game around the Alphys lab section with that bullshit vine boss. Everything before was god tier, and I love blue bird girl I love her so much she needs more fanart.

I love the areas as well. I love the cozy honey businesses in the snow and the band that performs at the bar/hotel. I think I like their take on the snow area more than Undertale. You can really tell it was a game made for almost a decade. Surprisingly less pozzed shit compared to Undertale and Deltarune too as far as I'm aware. The characters feel pretty well written until the fox girl does her shit. The cowboy boss fight was amazing, I can go on. They can't all be zingers.

My only gripes with the story is that it didn't really answer the burning questions. Call it optimistic but I hope Asgore gets a chance to fight back against the Knight come Chapter 6. At the very least we got to see what he might've looked like in the Undertale universe where he raged like crazy after Asriel and Chara died.

Even redditors are saying Toby sacrificed story for gameplay this chapter. Hopefully the next ones pick up on both since there's time for feedback.
