Just completed the chapter. I'm just gonna say it, that was the worst chapter yet. I really expected chapter 5 to transition us into the 3rd and final phase of the story, and this was just a fucking filler chapter that confirmed theories that were basically "all but confirmed" at this points (Asgore dealing with dark fountains before).
When I theorized that the chapter was going to be Flowey and the 6 human souls stopping you from reaching asgore, I was worried that developing them all has characters was going to be a nightmare, and turns out it was a true. Everyone had a single characteristic to them (also yellow and blue are fucking faggots and green is non-binary bullshit). The majority of screentime is given to Aqua and purple, which gives you time a lot of time with them, but not much else. Don't even get me started on how Orange barely has a presence.
The Noelle romance shit was unsufferable in chapter 2 and there's so much more of the shit throughout chapter 5. Let's not mention how the fucking secret boss was just an undertale boss that snuck into the flower shop. No epic lore or zanny lorebating chracters that develops the world more, just more of the same shit. I think it's safe to say Friend isn't handing out the shadow crystals cause this one makes 0 sense. Then again, I still believe tear theory.
Flowery had a strong presence at the start, but was completely written out of the story quickly, which lead to him being underdeveloped. The middle of the damn chapter drug on and on.
Nothing moved forward with the roaring knight. The beginning of the chapter had a bunch of Dess lore before leaving the house, then nothing going forward. Roaring knight does the same shit it does in chapter 3, comes in at the end, steals asgore, and fights Flowery, then fucks off. Nothing new.
The only thing this chapter really did was bring back the theory that Ralsei is Undertale's Asriel since Flowery had a few snide lines to him about being completely overpowered, along with at one point he stops the game and explains to Susie that they're pretty much in a game.
