It's funny, I found that episode 5 had a bit less of the plot moving along than the previous ones, but it did have some great scenes:
Jacoby turning into INFOWARS.COM was hilarious. /tv/ had spent the last two weeks trying to figure out what he was gonna do with those shovels and the theories all had to do either Ghostwood (something from the original show I had completely forgotten) or even him trying to dig a new opening to the Lodge. NOPE, he's just channeling the spirit of Alex Jones and shilling his products. Fucking amazing. And ofc Nadine and Jerry listen to him.

I need there to be an actual Dr. Amp vodcast. I would watch the shit out of that.

  • Fuck Gene Kelly
  • HFS Diane
  • And a kid died. Wow.

Drugged-mom gave a fantastic performance this episode.

I hope our midget friend gets a new screwdriver...and lodges it firmly into Chad's left ventricle.

Fuck Chad.

What the fuck just happened this episode and why did I enjoy it? Nine Inch Nails and pure autism for half the episode and it was fantastic.

Tonight's episode was probably the ballsiest thing ever aired on television (really, no joke) and I loved every second of it.

My interpretation, gleaned from a few others:
-Atomic bomb created black lodge (convenience store, referenced by Jeffries in FWWM)
-This includes BOB, and Laura as well.
-The scene in the marble... place is meant to be the White Lodge. Matches description by Garland Briggs here
-The hobos will turn out to be MIKE and BOB. We already know MIKE used to be an accomplice of BOB, until he turned against him.
-The girl is meant to be Sarah Palmer. The bug-frog that she swallows is meant to carry Laura Palmer. The hobo mentioning the white horse over the radio leads me to believe this.

Regardless if this all turns out to be true or not, HOLY FUCK this was a great episode.

The first 10 mins were great. The rest, I don't know. Not horrible. I really just need context for everything.

I assume the nuke test created BOB and his ilk.

Also, Ray is working with Bowie. Is he FBI or another branch of the government?

Agree it was the ballsiest thing I've seen aired on TV and I was laughing throughout the entire episode.
Maybe it might have been the creation of the Black Lodge, or maybe it might have been the creation of a passageway between the Black Lodge and Earth.
Agree 100% on the marble palace.
Not sure about the hobos actually being the duo, but I feel maybe they're just Black Lodge denizens.
Maybe the girl is meant to be Sarah Palmer. It'd be a little confusing if it is though, the Woodsman put listeners of the radio to sleep and he's clearly a Black Lodge guy. Or maybe he really just wants a light. Either way, I assumed the bug thing was from the Black Lodge too just because it took advantage of the girl falling unconscious to dig its way into her fucking mouth.

God damn episode 8 was great. It's amazing how quickly the episodes go by, someone in the chat for the stream I was watching mentioned 40 minutes had passed and I didn't even believe him at first before I checked and was shocked.

- first of all, the music was great in this episode. This piece:
was very on point. I thought it sounded familiar and apparently it was used by Kubrick in one of his movies too.
- I'm thinking the atomic bomb opened the passage to the Lodge or had something to do with the creation of the convenince store and its inhabitants. If you've read The Secret History of Twin Peaks (which I am very glad is pretty much entirely canon at this point), you'll know that the native american tribe (that Hawk is also a part of) had some knowledge and dealings with the Lodge for centuries, so the bomb didn't create it.
- the visuals very amazing. my favourite parts were with the atomic bomb and the hobos, who are spooky as fuck.
- Apparently the hobo who kills those two people at the end and recites that poem is played by an actor who has done a shitload of roles as Abraham Lincoln. Just a fun fact.
- I also agree the girl might be Sarah Palmer, age wise she fits. But I'm not 100% sold on it, seems like it might have more to do with BOB's birth. Or not, that part is hard to explain so I'm not going to even try.
- Ray is either a brave or very stupid man, just after "killin" doppelCoop he sees a bunch of hobos come out of nowhere, eat(?) parts of doppelCoops body (or smear the blood around or god only knows what they did, take BOB out?) and he just sits there for a while looking at them. Also interesting to note, after he gets in the car, he talks to Jeffries and says doppelCoop is the key to all of this.
- The Mother (or Experiment as she is named in the credits) is similar looking to the card doppelCoop showed to that woman he killed back in episode 1 or 2.
- Imagine this being the first episode of Twin Peaks you ever see.
- I wasn't really sold on the NIN part, but mostly bc I don't like their kind of music.
- tfw we still didn't see Audrey.

I probably missed a ton of shit, didn't even mention ??? and the woman, but there was a lot to take in. The following two weeks are going to be rough.

Track down the 3 hour cut of Fire Walk With Me and watch that.
