To focus in on the topic at hand, TundranVoltaire seems like a whiny little shit, but I don't get the sense that she's quite as deliberately malicious as Vade. Best as I can tell, these are the actions of a fairly unintelligent girl who has chosen to surround herself with lunatics. Oh she's a cow, no question, but I don't get that sense of casual cruelty that Vade gives off. I think a chunk of what Volts is doing can be attributed to staying firmly on the party line, simply because she lacks the will or brains to do otherwise. Her action are still inexcusable, but they seem more like the actions of a cult member than a cult leader.
What's so disturbing about echo chambers like Vade's is that they dogpile, of everyone, their former members the hardest. Recall if you will how Vade complained about Volts (an ex-Vadian) when Volt first started posting here. Clever Kiwis will quickly note, however, that what we had here was no standard bit of "Volts is shit, go after them" crap that we are used to with Tumblr - Vade and her buddies all kept screenshots to back up whatever despicable behavior that they wanted to accuse their target of.
Mark my word well, my fellow Kiwis: I would not be surprised if all the Vadians had extensive dossiers on one another, so that the nanosecond one gets the idea to leave the Cult of Vade, they have ample evidence to participate in the subsequent campaign of terror.
Get back in line, or we drop more. It's baffling, really, that someone can maintain a friendship in such a situation when all of them seem to practice a policy of Mutually Assured Destruction.
And yet, this is something that's real.
Legitimate cult groups and terror cells use this same tactic so that if you try to go against the grain or spread their secrets, they can ruin you. It's pretty scary shit when you stop and think about it. It's also, amazingly enough, very common in the SJW community. Without getting too much into it, many of the biggest names against Gamergate are fucking
notorious for this, including Sarah Nyberg, Randi Harper (who is essentially what would happen if Vade got any actual power), and Laurelai Bailey.
In quite a few ways, I'm
glad that the Farms had a role in doing as much damage to Vade as we did, with this in mind.
