Yeah, but nobody was exactly twisting his arm about it. In fact, the bulk of this thread comprised people who said "If you're not comfortable discussing it, do not do so." That's the part that macks of being completely disingenuous, and ironically is a hallmark of Team Vade by this point. Harken, if you will, to this post, taken almost a year ago, on this very forum:
In this one image, Vade unintentionally revealed her entire hand in one go. Literally about 60% of Vade's arguments can be ended, outright, with this image. Her admissions of no professional diagnosis, claiming DID is the same as headmates and denying their existence is the same as saying that DID doesn't exist, her outright denying what she herself has posted. Nobody twisted her arm to say this bullshit in the first place, but she still ran away crying after we refused to succumb to her offensive and claimed we were ever-so-mean and ableist towards her when the general gist is that we confronted her with facts, which have a well-known anti-Vade bias.
Let me elaborate on this. I'm pretty sure our beloved
@Meowthkip or
@fishercat could give you some great insight on it, but here's my general analysis on it from the perspective of one of the Farms' most inveterate Tumblr chronicleers:
There's a sort of "
Crabs in a bucket" mentality amongst the Tumblristas who are engaged in a cult of personality. The general gist is that if one of them starts to diverge too heavily from the party line, starts to break off too much from the norm, the others in the group will wage war to drag them back into the fold and force them to sit with the rest of the broken and fucked. Nothing is off limits; though Vade is now a joke compared to what she was, even stupid may not eternal lie, and a dead self-proclaimed god still dreams. Vade still has enough influence to scare those with a lot of skeletons in their closets (sorry
KiwiBigJ) and the prospect of being
haram on Tumblr, even within a community of inveterate dickbags, is enough to keep the rabble in line. As we saw from Vade's actions, she thinks
nothing of a months-long campaign of harassment over such important topics as
disagreeing with Vade, and certainly thought little of bringing a man to his death
So when one of the Vade crew peeks above water, it's equal parts wanting to be free of it and trying to get a grasp on what things are like outside the crazy. But Vade's crew keeps a constant watch. You belong to
Alyssa now. You are not allowed to have normalcy. You are not allowed to have actual medical diagnosis, you are not allowed freedom. Vade is a fucking cultist.
