President Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for helping broker a peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, according to a report.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament and chairman to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, submitted the nomination, Fox News reported.

“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde, told Fox News.

In his letter to the Nobel Committee, Tybring-Gjedde wrote that the Trump administration has played a key role in the establishment of relations between the two nations.

“As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game-changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity,” he wrote, Fox News reported.

The Nobel Institute quickly came to regret Obama's peace prize, admitting it was one of their most controversial decisions and that even most of Obama's supporters thought it was premature, at best. They aren't eager to wade back into the assorted controversies of canonizing the American president anytime soon.

You have to be alive to be awarded Nobel Peace Prize. In 1948 no one was awarded the prize because "there was no suitable living candidate". The prize was supposed to go to Mahatma Gandhi but he was assassinated earlier that year. He was nominated for it five times. Peace Prize lost a lot of value in my eyes when Obama won it and became almost worthless when mustache girl won it.

Obama got it very quickly and then demonstrated for the next 7 years that he shouldn't have gotten it.
President Trump's peace record is being the first U.S. president since Jimmy Carter to not start a war, refusing again and again to escalate in Syria and take the bait on Iran, work with North Korea in a peace process and physically visit North Korea and now broker a peace process/normalization between Serbia and Kosovo and Israel-United Arab Emirates. That's pretty robust. Why not the Nobel peace prize for all that? He's the most dovish American president in generations.
