We had a good thing you stupid son of a bitch! We had the Witcher trilogy! We had the end of Blood and Wine! we had everything we needed and it ran like clockwork. You could have just released the fourth game and make as much money as possible. But no! You just had to blow it up! You, and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man! If you would have done your job, known your place, we all would be fine right now!

"will need win11" give it two two days and some russian autists will have it working on win7

Who the fuck doesn't have an SSD in this day and age?
The greater problem is with with gaming companies using newer hardware power as a excuse to avoid optimization. Before a SSD made games load faster, now load times are more or less going back to hard drive days because they no longer optimize load times. They instead rely largely on the SSD to do all the "optimizing" for them

Same shit with GPU's and CPU's. Hardware power is exponentially increasing while graphical advancements have been stagnating. EA's Battlefront 2 looks visually amazing and its recommended specs are only a GTX 1060 with 3GB of vram (and it can be ran on a hard drive) meanwhile the same card would chug on modern games that have far less visual fidelity.

At this point we're not paying for advancements in hardware power, we're paying for developer laziness.

Última edición:
Seeing how the dev studio has been going lately I get the feeling the new DLC and the new future witcher game are going to be heavily entrenched with woke shit. The same studio that made Witcher 3 is only the same studio in name alone at this point, the factors and people that made the studio good during the development of Witcher 3 is gone
Almost everyone who worked on W3 left and formed a new studio. They're currently working on that Dawnwalker vampire game I believe.

I think I read somewhere the studio head was the game director for Blood and Wine.

A single player game raising its system requirements this steeply 10 years after launch is completely unacceptable. There's no justifiable reason for a game that isn't a live service to do this. Give people a choice instead of saying "lol get fucked". Pirated copies of the latest non-win11 patch about to skyrocket in download counts.

And the "advancement" we are getting look like shit. Its all lighting effects which look terrible, they are either eye-rapingly bright or just make surfaces look wet. "Look, look we've tanked your framerate by 50% to make this floor texture look like someone spilled oil on it! Isn't modern lighting tech amazing!" And fuck UE5, nanite and lumen while I'm at it.

We've gone nowhere in like 10 years graphics wise.

guess I'm never finishing Bloord & Wine, here's hoping GoG will come through and keep the game as is

I think it has less to do with 'drumming up' interest for TW4 and more so that the well is running dry and they need infusion of money - I think they are hemorrhaging money at this point. Keep in mind they have two (TW4 and CP2) games currently in production and given how currently all game studios blast their money over-hiring and trying to make both 'the game that will appeal to everyone and sell trillion times over trust us bro'. Also, CP2 development has been moved from Poland to US which does not help the fact that their development costs took a hike for no fucking reason (or maybe that current CDPR is massively DEI-infested company). Neither of them will likely come out this year, maybe somewhere Q2-Q3 2027, so TW3 is a 'cheaper' way to grab bunch of outsource devs and shit out a mediocre DLC.

It's a shame CD Projekt Red wants to crank out 3 Witcher games in 6 years. I wish they would slow down and release Cyberpunk 2 beforehand.
CP2077 was a great base and I wish they expanded it more with content like Phantom Liberty, they spent so many years on creating a world that is barren with little to no interesting quests and they are happy to leave it to rot just so they can shit out CP2 on UE.
