You’re not a true orthodox unless you wash my car
no because God wants you to be self-reliant and also washing your car is a lot like washing your ass is a sense of cleanliness and cleanliness is close to Godliness or something.
I also hope everyone's going to church this Sunday it's palm Sunday very important one of the most important services of the year I actually would say forgiveness I think Saturday is more important was it Sunday.
Forgive Vince Vespos is the more important day but that's for a different reason

Blessed Sunday of the Entrance of Our Lord into Jerusalem

By raising Lazarus from the dead before Thy passion,
Thou didst confirm the universal Resurrection, O Christ God!
Like the children with the palms of victory,
We cry out to Thee, O Vanquisher of death;
Hosanna in the Highest!
Blessed is He that comes in the Name of the Lord!

The Patriarch of Constaninople is almost 100% a CIA/turkish/nato asset. His intervention in the Ukraine was uncanonical and politically motivated and we are still suffering the consequences of it. Whatever your opinion on the war, it isn't Russia who caused discord in the Church.

Also Lol gayreeks stay losing. Though recently archbishop Elpidophoros has kissed Trump's ring and compared him to Constantine
I get when people criticize the Greek Church or Patriarch Bartholomew but it never sits right with me that laymen, many converts of only a few years, will sit around calling the Patriarch a fed and the Bishop a cuck etc.
Feels like people want to treat Church issues like American politics where everything goes but thats so disrespectful and antithetical to the point of a structured Church with a hierarchy.
Not that the criticisms are necessarily wrong all the time but I dunno, people want to glorify Byzantium and Imperial Russia but if people said of the Patriarch in Byzantium what American converts do they would have their eyeballs scooped out and condemned to a monastery.

Today He who hung the earth upon the waters is hung on the tree,
The King of the angels is decked with a crown of thorns.
He who wraps the heavens in clouds is wrapped in the purple of mockery.
He who freed Adam in the Jordan is slapped on the face.
The Bridegroom of the Church is affixed to the Cross with nails.
The Son of the virgin is pierced by a spear.
We worship Thy passion, O Christ.
We worship Thy passion, O Christ.
We worship Thy passion, O Christ.
Show us also Thy glorious resurrection.

I was just gonna post my favorite rendition of my favorite hymn

18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,

and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”

20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (1st Corinthians)

A blessed Good Friday to all our kiwi brothers and sisters

Christ is Risen!

"O Death, where is your sting? O Hell, where is your victory? Christ is risen, and you are overthrown. Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen. Christ is risen, and the angels rejoice. Christ is risen, and life reigns. Christ is risen, and not one dead remains in the grave. For Christ, being risen from the dead, is become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. To Him be glory and dominion unto ages of ages. Amen."

Reaching across the Adriatic Sea to say a very Happy Pascha to everyone in this thread. Let us Roman’s and Greeks unite in proclamation of the Risen Lord

It's rare thing and worth celebrating, May God watch, protect and bless the Apostolic Churchs and all of Christendom. Happy Pascha!

he has risen
Trampling down death.

i generally think both patriarch of Greece the patriarch of Russia and the patriarch of Constantinople all plain politics and should really stop.
Also I can make it to church simply do the fact that my friend was supposed to pick me up and he did not but it happens.
But I genuinely wish the patriarch of Greece and Byzantium would literally just grant America independence so we stopped having all of these go to Russia Orthodox Church go to Greek Orthodox Church how about just go to the American Orthodox Church.

Also as much as I was tempted today to post nasty things about Pope Francis may the pope find peace in the Lord.

you don't have to constantly make excuses why your church is filled with degenerate weirdos pedophiles
The orthodox church is filled with pedophiles too. Every few years in my country there is yet another high profile scandal involving orthodox priests and kiddy diddling.
American converts online seem to love orthodoxy so much because they have no idea what it really is, all they see is trad old architecture + bearded guys with cool robes blessing AKs with holy water.
The orthodox church has just as many problems as the Catholic church does - if you're going to convert to a religion, do it because you've searched your soul and believe it's the right path for you, not because some twitter e-celeb/pinterest moodboard made it seem cool to you, otherwise you're just like a weeaboo who believes Japanese culture has all the answers to the problems of western society.

Well there is the autocephalous OCA (despite the meming from ROCORbros). It would be nice though to have one singular church jurisdiction like the other countries

I wrote a response to this message a couple of days ago, but I would first like to thank the Orthodox, both on this site and other's for showing restraint and charity in the wake of Francis' death.

I reflected upon the following in mass that I would like to share with you:

The Lord has seemingly blessed our Churches with unprecedented growth in the past year. I have no doubt that, between the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, this week, of all weeks in history, probably has one of the highest volumes in Baptisms in recent history for the apostolic Churches.

God bless you all.
