If newspaper strips are okay, the latest going on in Nancy is Aunt Fritzi is trying to hook up at a dyke bar.

Is there any non-capeshit that is actually good and not pretentious hipster garbage, or is that just what I gravitate to? I like MM&O, everything else has been a hate-read.
I recommend The Crow comic. It has the word NIGGER in it.
Is Scooby Doo something kids today watch or is it something kept around for boomers?
My kids and I watched a Scooby Doo and Courage the Cowardly Dog crossover that happened a few years back.

this is just going to be complaining about comics because they are infinitely more retarded than manga
Well, manga can be just as retarded, if not more. Just not in terms of politics. When manga is retarded it can be an absolute abandonment of all writing principles that makes you wonder not just the intelligence of the author, but also your own for having read all this shit.

Granted that describes western comics too, but my point is that japs tends to have stories where it turns out so fucking bad I regret having began. Western comics tend to be shit from the get and get worse.

I will bring in a weird topic, I honestly find it very strange that there is a lack of synergy between companies and the publishers they own. Disney bought out Marvel, yet their comics are published under Dynamite, Dark Horse or IDW. It is even funnier when you consider that Disney stripped Marvel of their own IP, Big Hero 6, just to give its comics to another publisher.

Warner does this as well. For being a company that owns Cartoon Network, their comics are always produced by other parties like Boom!. One would think CN would have natural cross-promotion potential with DC, especially seeing how much the two companies are integrated.

Razorfist for me might be the dumbest comic book grifter. His argument against manga appears to be based on his own lies. He claims that his main reason for disliking manga is that it is "woke" and that French comics outsell manga. However, the assertion about French comics surpassing manga commercially is factually inaccurate. Historically, French comics have predominantly been focused on adult content, such as pornography, except for children's comics. Additionally, French comics have explored leftists themes, including transgender issues, since the 1970s and 1980s.
Furthermore, using characters like the lesbians in Sailor Moon as evidence of manga being "woke" is retarded, especially since the original Japanese versions did not emphasize their sexuality like American writers do, and the American dubs often censored or altered these aspects by portraying them as cousins. Because the lesbianism wasn’t in your face like Disney cartoons in the last eight years. Even manga considered leftists so nationalistic and pro-Japan that Twitter and Bluesky decry manga as racist.

He's a contrarian and I consider him slightly better than Linkara, but not by much.

American comics have been children focused for so long that seeing adult themes is akin to whiplash. It doesn't really help that it's hamfisted and the writers insist on eating their cake and having it too.

Ah, they don't make it their whole personality, therefore it's okay :smug:

Like, I agree with razorfist that jap media can be as degenerate as western media, but in my experience it's still easier to find non-degenerate anime than it is to find non-degenerate western cartoons. Just depends how good your gaydar is. I see some people just bellyflop face first into landmines when trying to "get into anime" and then give up.

I don't think there is a genre of comic that I dislike more than essay/journal/biographic... Of WOMEN.

Oh you mean a woman who did or went through such a life altering experience and has a story to tell? No nononono, we can't have those, what we have is the I am a lesbian or whore who discovered myself or the I have this relationship that really made me so mad that I made this 300 pages comic about it.

And as more time passes, more women do it and the less interesting stuff happens in their lives.

It is just too tiresome

Última edición:
I will never respect or take women seriously as protagonists. There are plenty of women in my life that I love, respect and care about. But for the life of me I can’t look at “woman in armor and in combat” seriously and I’m always holding back a chuckle. Nerd media magnifies this chauvinism tenfold due to how inept it is.

Like I’m not a foam at the mouth retard (that I know of) and I don’t hate women on principle, I just look at sword and shield “serious” Wonder Woman for example and not look at with the same eyes I look at crap like Deadpool. So the modern trends are just bad comedy to me.

Which in my opinion, this is the best way to handle people who like the “modern female protagonist” they want you to foam at the mouth at shit like Laufey or the lesbians in House of the Dragon, they don’t want you to laugh. Anger means you’re taking it seriously enough to work yourself up but laughing means you view it for what it is, a joke.

I don’t even do the “hurr durr biological differences, women soldiers are ineffective,” belief. They just look stupid and my boys who drink beer for breakfast and coach football could easily take your average “female soldier” and still have room for another rumble.

Can you imagine reading every single volume of One Piece
I would say it helps to start back when I was eleven, but I also just reread all of One Piece from the start every few years or so. Not reading something because it is long has always been a lame-ass excuse, especially in these days of binge watching literal days of tv; it's not like reading anything is a hardline commitment that you can't take a break from.

In either case, reading weekly is objectively the worst way to read a series, no matter how serialized. All you get is schizo theories and speed readers.

Well, manga can be just as retarded
The difference is manga at least still puts out the occasional series of quality, whereas with American comics you have to go back twenty-five years (and even then it's probably been ruined by a Netflix adaptation).

Danny boy is a reformed Christcuck. If you remember he is an OG trumblrite as well. He has to put on this front that he hates porn to make up for that fact.

It’s quite appropriate that you mention Linkara. If you read any of Razorfist's work, his writing style is so similar to Linkara's that the only way to differentiate them is that Razorfist tends to incorporate right-leaning propaganda, whereas Linkara usually presents left-leaning propaganda. Aside from being somewhat politically heavy-handed, Razorfist's books can be viewed as somewhat hypocritical. He criticizes others for alleged plagiarism, such as in the cases of Batman and The Witcher series. However, his own writings appear to contain significant similarities to other works, notably the Dune series and the Thief video game series. His books seem to draw inspiration from Garrett's character in Thief and feature antagonists inspired by Dune's giant desert worms, raising questions about originality.

nah it's a good excuse :smug:

especially in these days of binge watching literal days of tv
That's a Current Year thing that hopefully not everyone does (unless one takes breaks and spaces it out).

Also, if one wanted to have the physical collection rather than reading it online, that's a lot of books.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

that's a lot of books.
One can never have too many books. But also, manga is incredibly readable on a screen and we’re back in an era where fan translations are superior in quality to the official release.

As an aside: When I moved out my sisters took all my manga volumes. I was blamed for her having like forty volumes of One Piece despite only ever owning three while I was there.
