As a straight man, I tend to stay out of shipping, with Funnybunny being pretty much the only ship I've been interested in in my entire life. Weirdly enough, I'm not alone in this - whenever I check the reposts / likes of related fics and fanart out, the list of accounts seems to be about evenly split between male and female, which is just extraordinary in shipping. The entire scene is about 90% female, and whenever a different ship floats on top of my timeline (rarely happens), the associated account is always female.

For a while, I wondered what could have triggered this. Then, it hit me.

Jax x Pomni is a very obviously male written romance.

Jax is somewhat of a loser who doesn't have much going on for him. People don't like or respect him, he never accomplished anything of note, and generally is insufferable to be around. Pomni unconditionally loves him, and despite Jax pushing her away, she never stops chasing him and caring for him.

Isn't that the plot to like half of all male target group romance series (mostly anime/manga) ever? You get the depressed loser (average romance consumer self inset), and then you get the upbeat cute girl who's really in love with him for basically no reason at all. They form a special bond (whilst literally playing what is effectively a first person shooter, I might add), he shares his tragic past, she hugs him, forgives him for everything, and tells him it's okay. It's almost formulaic, really.

Gooseworx isn't writing like a woman, and he isn't even writing like an AGP or a HSTS. The Amazing Digital Circus is a show written by a straight man, with the whole transgender aspect awkwardly tacked on. Of course you guys like it so much!

For once I totally agree with you. They have backup copies of themselves and there is no reason they cant get Caine to generate multiple copies. Caine is also a baby AGI, still developing new skills and is now on their side. Since he has access to the capital Internet, he could do endless amounts of things to keep everyone entertained. Instead they just end with a "hell is better with company" theme when they could be living the dream. For fucks sake they introduce a basic 'magic system' last second. Its frustrating when you have a setting that interesting and you only focus on vore fetish references.

That's one reason why I cautiously follow Voices of the Void. While the dev is definitely in Goose's circle he is doing an OK job keeping his worse impulses in check. Sure the player character is a twink (that Goose likes to cosplay as) and the main aliens you interact with are 8 foot tall futa cat girls (that are thankfully invisible and I hope they stay invisible forever) but outside of that it is a really fun game with an intresting premise. I think what keeps him in check is he is pretty explicitly developing the game for Joel Vargskelethor. So Joel keeps the dev anchored on the pulse of what normies want while most tumbler type creators fall into their fandom hug box when they get big and go off the rails due to a rabid minority whispering in their ear and using their massive normie audiance to get the clout needed to overide any concerns from producers to do the retarded shit only a minority of people actually want.

To be fair it's possible he didn't rip off Madoka magica.... And instead ripped off Steven Universe which itself ripped off Madoka Magica.

Steven Universe had a similar concept to witches, with "Gem corruption" which is as also eirely similar to abstraction too ( both involve containing instead of killing mindless victims).

Don't get me wrong I get what you mean, and to be fair the process of abstraction is more similar to Madoka's witches than gem corruption (Despair before you become a monster) . But I just can't ignore the heavy influence of Steven Universes on this show, enough to make me suspect that's where he got the idea.
