Affirming his masculinity is a better way of her showing affection and acceptance of Jax than hinting "Yeah you're a big sissy you should cut your dick off and be a girl instead". If Jax was a consistently written character the hair pin should've had the opposite effect and brought up feelings of insecurity. After that scene he should've kept it as a gift. Imagine if all through the show the audience sees Jax with a bow tie. It doesn't look out of place for his character. Even matches the one Ribbit's wore. Oh that's cute. Then you find out he's been wearing her's all this time because he never really could let go. That's how you do story telling. We don't need 9 episodes of characters telling us what they're feeling. Show it.

They should have left him floating in the void. Caine started the circus from the void and BlueAI being the stronger one should be able to start something up in the void too. It would be a good season two idea if the BlueAI creates something and returns to destroy the circus. But I think locking it in the cabinet was to tie up that loose end and prevent that sequel from happening ever.

Though that does also make me wonder- and its amazing how bad the finale was, that the concepts for alternate stories and ideas are better sounding in my head- what a 'modern' Caine would look like. Caine is clearly somewhat limited, he has limited data sets to pull from, he's probably a character that's designed after an in-universe video game or series (some knockoff of Rayman?), and he's disconnected from the outside world until he bullshits his way into the internet.
Meanwhile the modern world has made everything from Tay, Mecha-Hitler, to Gemini and ChatGPT. What happens when brain-scans are trapped inside a software system that's being molded and 'pushed around' by the invisible hand of the internet?
