I agree, that was a really good album. RZA would have done good if he toured with Outkast doing only Bobby Digital because they were starting to get into their weird, outer spacey phase, but before they started making old timey show tunes. That first Bobby Digital album is really good imo. I think, for most fans, it was just too out there, compared to the rest of Wu-Tang's catalog.
Same here, I love the first Bobby Digital. I will say though that his delivery and cadence can put people off. It's bearable on Wu-Tang tracks because someone else picks up his slack, but listening to an album full of his weird delivery might be hard for people just expecting stuff similar to Rae and Ghostface's styles.I feel like RZA is pretty underrated as a solo artist. That first Bobby Digital album is really good imo. I think, for most fans, it was just too out there, compared to the rest of Wu-Tang's catalog.
Bitch, real G's move in silence like lasagna
this may come as a shock to you...Does rap count as hip-hop?
I will is still in my weekly music rotation such a good beatBeen listening to a lot of Danny too lately and while i dislike most of his newer shit the XXX album still is one of my all-time favorites
I love it too, it's a shame what happened to them after their debut though.I still consider "The Cold Vein" by Can Ox the best album of that time
I wish Cage recorded/released more material between Hell's Winter and Depart From Me. He struck a solid ground between the over-the-top persona he had on Movies For The Blind while still sounding mature. It's never going to happen, but I also wish we could hear the original version of Depart From Me before it got delayed and reworked after Mu died.anything Cage at the time
Already know it but haven't listened to it in forever. RJD2 is another one of these producers that take me right back to that Golden Era anytime i listen to shit he's involved with. Like El-P just an extremely unique and distinct style, i love it.If you haven't heard this yet
That's were Cage lost me. Some good tracks on it but too many that made me go "uhhhh", didn't sound old Cage enough for me any more. Movies for the Blind i skip some tracks too when i listen to it (which i still do pretty often) but it's all in all a great album. I tried to listen to Cage's post-Hell's Winter shit somewhere around last year and it just didn't connect with me.Hell's Winter
This is such a great album, blunt after blunt should be mentioned. Detriot 187 is sweet too.Been listening to some old old shit today, i still think Ams Uno is one of the most slept-on mcees of his days. Dude even slept on his own, sadly short-lived, hype. Could only find the whole EP on YT, "Your Brain on Ams" is still a banger:

Couldn't hack it in today's hip hop world, the music changed too much, but back then nigga stood out, even if it was only briefly.
Been listening to a lot of Danny too lately and while i dislike most of his newer shit the XXX album still is one of my all-time favorites:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=fiwX_79yF7c"I got the penis poems to your vagina monologues" is one of the greatest lines ever.
For me, "DNA" is the best track on the album and every time i listen to it i wish he recorded all his shit in that voice:

Reminds me of Gravediggaz. Speaking of which, they had some really good stuff, too.Just remembered this gem:

This is from Canibus' solo album. Very catchy.A producer who never gets his props has got to be Stoupe from Jedi Mind Tricks, his sample game is wild.
