I've been getting back into Tech N9ne recently and have decided that anyone who doesn't have him on their hip-hop Mount Rushmore should not be taken seriously.

Looking for some rap recommendations for my gym playlist. A few examples of what I got already:
Feel Me Flow - Naughty By Nature
Hit Em' Up - 2Pac
So Fresh, So Clean - Outkast
Swimming Pools - Kendrick

More german shit again but i am fucking too hard with this track:
Sometimes life is cold and sick and wears you down

None of us pissers are immortal

The earth is cold, the sun warms

I haven't seen the sun in 13 years

Where do we come from, where are we going, straight into the sea of flames

The path is predetermined and we walk on shards

On bloody heels straight into ruin

Between dirty money and dirty values

Do you have blood in your pocket?

A stain on your heart and a foot in the ground

Why does someone ask me every day if I'm okay?

Who cares about that shit when you send the stuff into your blood?

When you don't have what you deserve

And every day you spend hating everyone who has more than you want

Everyone has their worries to bear from morning till night

Hidden scars, ruined stomachs

Between order and chaos

Progress and the past

Do you feel the anger in your veins?

Always with your sights set on others

Translation isn't entirely accurate but you get the gist of what he's on about.

Sick Jacken is kinda wack though.
Do you know the first Psycho Realm album? It's great and still holds up. Their other releases aren't as good, but they had some good tracks on compilations, soundtracks etc.

I used to have the instrumental of this song as my ringtone for a while.

The movie's about a wigger politician. Don't watch it.

Don't watch it
Too late for that. Been a long time ago, only remember that it dragged on forever with no payoff whatsoever and the press conference freestyle. Truly ahead of its time regarding the wiggermaxxing though. Gotta check if YT has the freestyles and if they are as bad as i think they were.

Regarding Sick Jacken i admit i know just a handful of tracks where he's featured, i dislike his part on Black Metal hard so i never bothered to check out his shit.

Some newer stuff i listened to lately, fucking shame that the Blood Brothers album won't happen. Bill looking like goonism personified even at 50 years old, musically still on top of his game:

Not a new track by any means but new to me. I usually dislike this kind of "We makin' real hip hop here, fuck your modern plastic rap" track but this one gets a pass. Best Necro verse i heard in recent years but Immortal Technique steals the spotlight:

It's crazy how IT looks (and sounds) like he hasn't aged a day since Revolutionary Vol.2 dropped while Vinnie Paz is looking like has been living under a bridge in Queens for the better part of the last decade :story: No front, since i always liked his music, God-tier voice and flows since the earliest JMT releases.

Just want to say come the 2026 GRAMMYs, three hip-hop albums are going to have the potential of winning the award for Album Of The Year:

Tyler, the Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
Kendrick Lamar - GNX
Clipse - Let God Sort ‘Em Out

It will be interesting to see if one of them wins the big prize.

It will be Lady Gaga.

Got recommended this short Tommy Wright docu not too long ago and despite it being AI slop i thought it was neat:

Drives the point home what a fucking pioneer Tommy is/was. While NY niggas rapped about chains and cars Tommy showcased the poverty struggle for hood blacks better than no other, starting with his production. Still the de-facto king of the 4-tracker and a real hustler. Not to mention having Princess Loko on his shit, girl had more skill in the 90's than any other female mcee on the planet. I pump this track quite often and am still always amazed at how easy and effortless she makes that shit sound despite it being anything but:
Killer flow and, again, that production. Dudes from my area are still sampling parts of her verses from this track. Not to mention that anyone who's an underground name around here started exactly like Tommy, to call it biting would be an understatement. I'd post tracks for comparison but i don't want to put more german stuff up, plus i couldn't even find any with a quick YT search it's that old and niche.

Fronting here but i don't understand how Kendrick got big, nigga sounds like Kermit the Frog to me.

Been listening to some Lynch today, haven't done so in quite some time.

Favourite track first, his flow is exceptionally nice here but when isn't it? Was never into the whole hip-hop wear shit but he's rocking some nice oldschool shit in this video.
Legendary beat, i think everyone knows this track even if they're not into Lynch or that style of hip-hop. First heard the beat sampled in C-Rayz Walz "Original Copies", stuck with me ever since.
First Lynch track i ever heard, still holds up like a motherfucker, again flow and production just next level for its time and the area. Sick fucking hook as well.

I don't fuck with Gucci much apart from "The State vs. Radric Davis" but this is one of the all-time best diss tracks:
Recording this after five niggers stormed your crib and you shot one of them in a justified homicide situation? Real. "Go dig your partner up, i bet he can't say shit", "Ain't a real rapper, i'm a fucking grave digger", just stone-cold bars.

Also been listening to some UK shit from long ago, always liked how the british boys went extremely speedy with their spitting, all their Grime and Garage shit speaks to me.
Buggsy's (first dude) verse is top stuff, second dude ain't bad either. Only track i know of the Bristol crowd.
Roll Deep is the first crew that got me into the UK stuff, Wylie is probably one of the most famous UK mcees and producers. They got a very unique soundscape, for lack of a better term, no one except them (AFAIK) used beats like that back then.

Another, not too grimy, earlier track that i like a lot. Excellent sample.

Late edit: 6AM and i just remembered one of the best Lynch tracks, what is it with this beat?
The correct title of this track is "Had 2 gat ya".

Triple posting, but remember the time when Mike Jones was a thing for a hot minute? I do admit i turn this one off at the Paul Wall verse but i am not listening to this track for the lyrics in the first place.
Negress dancing in front of the DJ's deck is still doing it for me though i am not into black girls at all.

I wish Texas kept their buzz up for longer, the run Swishahouse had was nice though.

Blowin on that indo, GameCube, Nintendo-

Been listening to the Nighthawks album a lot lately, Camu on top of his game on that. Some of the best verses Cage ever kicked on it, too. Not every track is a banger but it is a solid album. I watched the movie they based this album on long after i listened to this album for the first time and i am sure that me and these dudes did not watch the same film :story:
One of my most favourite Cage verses in this track. "Fuck them Cali quakes, we put the Crack in the street" "With so much dough in the US, my Glocks doing duets", rock-solid bars. Killer hook, Cage excels at making dope sounding hooks in general.
Best track on the album if it wasn't for Cage's completely uneccessary "interludes" in place of a hook. Best Camu verses i ever heard apart from "Accidents don't happen" on El-P's "Fantastic Damage" album.

Just for good measure, the second ever Cage shit i ever listened to (first was "54" on "Porn Again" by Smut Peddlers), holds up more than pretty much all of his newer shit. Necro in 95 already next level, too.
"I'm stretched out like I'm strong/Armstrong with my forte, ribald word play, fucking your style in a orjay/orgy" "kick of the hinges in my leaky binges", nigga had it big time back then.

I randomly found this on YT one day. I have no idea what this dude is rapping about (tried to look for the lyrics in text form to run it through deepl but no dice), nor really who he is (he seems to be off-mainstream famous over there and has been rapping for quite a while) but i am digging the whole underground vibe and production of this track. He's often off-beat but dude has great breath control, the beat is kinda sick too, i can imagine NY cats from around the 99-04 era spitting on this. Only japanese rap track that i ever heard that didn't sound outright wack to my ears:

RIP Dilla, almost been 20 years since his death
I dig the first part of the track a lot, even if i am not a fan of combining sung shit with rap shit, with a couple exceptions. Real nice.

While it sounds absolutely nothing alike it made me think of this track for some reason, haven't listened to it in ages.
Probably the slightly sung hook in this and your track what made me think of it. Murs has an excellent voice, can't be said often enough.
