One thing I’ve noticed is the proliferation of ‘trainers’- people with qualifications to train others, but zero relevant knowledge- being selected to run education in businesses and institutions.
I can’t count the number of times in my career I’ve sat, bored as hell, as some fat 50 year old Karen tries to teach a class of professionals about something they already know better than she does.
As I’ve put it to others: you need surgery. Do you want a surgeon trained by a surgeon without training qualifications? Or would you prefer a surgeon trained by someone with training qualifications but zero practical knowledge?
Not to mention that almost all trainers I’ve encountered are women. It’s just an extension of the ‘HR is adult daycare for leftover women’ trend that I’m sure many of you have noticed.
How are people supposed to attain proficiency in a form of knowledge when the person delivering the education has no experience in the field?
