Tales of the Competency Crisis - How do I into anything?

One thing I’ve noticed is the proliferation of ‘trainers’- people with qualifications to train others, but zero relevant knowledge- being selected to run education in businesses and institutions.

I can’t count the number of times in my career I’ve sat, bored as hell, as some fat 50 year old Karen tries to teach a class of professionals about something they already know better than she does.

As I’ve put it to others: you need surgery. Do you want a surgeon trained by a surgeon without training qualifications? Or would you prefer a surgeon trained by someone with training qualifications but zero practical knowledge?

Not to mention that almost all trainers I’ve encountered are women. It’s just an extension of the ‘HR is adult daycare for leftover women’ trend that I’m sure many of you have noticed.

How are people supposed to attain proficiency in a form of knowledge when the person delivering the education has no experience in the field?

Not the same, but related to this are these stupid certificates they piss away time and money on. I don't need AGILE or scrum training, i can figure out how the system works in a week by just working on a team that uses those methods. Why force me to waste an entire afternoon listening to some retard telling me how to create a secure password. If you force me to do some microsoft office tutorial, please give me a .zip file with everything in it I can do on my own. I dont want to listen to some fat karen go through maybe 1/3 of the material in 5 hours, the 1/3 I already know and would skip through if I could work on my own. Just give me mandatory exercises if you're afraid I won't do it at all. I'll happily bang through them in 2 hours if that means I can go back to work sooner.
And the entire system has been turned into a cottage industry as well. Companies offering their employees to "self-develop" by spending company money on certificates. I have no idea how this happened. Why are companies willing to waste 500 bucks per employee per year to make their employees learn nothing at all, while they are not productive for however long the course takes?

The same reason it requires a college degree to do anything now. It is illegal to test someone for competency.

You can't test someone because Niggers and Females don't pass the tests, and any test that a Nigger can't pass is racist, because we're not allowed to come to the conclusion that Niggers aren't competent. Any test that a Female can't pass is sexist, because telling a Female no is a hate crime, so instead you just had better lower the standards until she can pass.

This is "Tabula Rasa" theory, the Blank Slate, and has been discredited for a hundred years or more, but it's a foundational belief of Liberalism (in the classic sense) so we just ignore the fact that it's discredited and keep acting shocked when our assuming it's valid results in failing policies.

You have women ""special forces"" that can't do a pullup, so they just changed the rules so special forces don't need to do pull ups. You have blacks suing because they keep bombing out of engineering programs when they can't even figure out what a smoke detector is. You have black females in the military that are 350 pounds of sassy black retarded subhuman and we're required to pretend these people aren't going to be the biggest millstone in history when (not if, when) shit breaks down and the next large scale military conflict occurs.

You can't just test to see if someone can do something, because the wrong diversity identity flag might fail and then you're fucked. So instead you just outsource that shit to the colleges, and for things that don't """""""require""""""" 4 years of learning, certifications. Then they just discretely aim to be as impartial as possible (they're fucking this up too by giving bonus points to Niggers and Females and Gays cause Females evolved to raise children so they see everyone as children) and then you can just go "oh, well, sorry Tyrone, you don't have a certification, oh well."

But good fucking luck, cause the Jeets took one look at our "lets just pretend the Niggers and Females aren't useless, they just don't pass certification exams" system and said "SAAR, I CAN PASS TEST SSAAAAR, HIRE ME A++++ EMPLOYEE SAAAR, I HAS CERTIFICATE FROM NEW DHELI COWFUCKER ACADEMY OF SCIENCISM" and now we have an entirely new problem.

and on top of this, the academic and management culture that's been facilitated over the last 40 years is one to completely discredit any of these observations because they legitimately, honest to god, believe with their whole heart that Indians have more skill, tact, and culture than a redneck because they use curry

What if the person isn't intellectually disabled, yet still sucks at math?
Well, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. But there's an bit of an minimal amount of knowledge that's required to get to life on your own and using algebra to balance out your bills is a small part of it. Other than that, a lot of math gradually becomes more theoretical up until the off-chance for when you'll actually using it to fix something.
In this vein of thinking, I'm curious about how you'd feel about say a high school Freshman who is bad at PEMDAS Algebra (and is put in an easier math class as a result which isn't remedial) but otherwise decent to great at every other major subject, including Geometry? I agree with strengths and weaknesses as a concept, given a fish should not be judged for its ability to climb trees.
Humans have an innate ability to acquire spoken language, but this does not extend to reading or writing. You have to deliberately form the neural connections to become literate. Becoming numerate requires an even more complicated set of deliberate steps to lay neural foundations and build upon them.

You might have a elementary school teacher bring up that little Suzy doesn't color between the lines and the parents scoff about how that's bullshit, who gives a fuck, why are you grading Suzy on coloring, don't you have better things to do, and maybe she's just an avant garde creative who's rebelling against your system, maaan.

Except...

Coloring inside the lines is how little Suzy develops the neural pathways for fine motor skills that she will need to be able to write letters snd numbers. Pretending her haphazard crayon scribbles are "artistic" sets her up for failure.
Lots of parents don't want to swallow their pride when they want to think the best future is possible for Suzy or Andy when observable realities are still in front of their faces.
Handwriting activates a far wider set if brain networks than typing. If you write something you’re engaging a whole different and more complex set of systems. I do worry how the reliance on keyboards and tablets will affect people who never did any significant writing. And my own handwriting has gotten worse - it used to be far smoother and now it’s quite jerky - I really should write and practice more
I actually learned how to sign my name as a first grader, but that fell off after that. I can write with a pen or pencil, and I've started journaling as of a few years ago in order to practice among other reasons, though I've thought about teaching myself cursive in spite of practically the whole world wanting to phase it out.

It kind of depends. Since PEMDAS is mainly tied to financial issues as opposed to anything that isn't autistic. But PEMDAS can probably be sidestepped if you already know where to start and in which sequence to process shit.Although, doing this is also testing your ability to measure the context of the larger picture.

But geometry is just something that has always been something that's along the lines of physically seeing where your fucking up. But unless you're going a bit to where you're observing shit and drafting an out the scientific details about it,; then there might be an demand it for using some of the more advanced shit to study volume and mass. Especially if you're starting with nothing

To sum it up in a word: capitalism. Not the the new retarded definition which apparently is just 'markets', which are very good and necessary, but the classical definition of concentration of ownership of the means of production into very few hands. A guy who owns an autobody, or a grocery, or a video game studio, or a pharmacy, or any such business enterprise and is in it every day, knows his employees, knows his product, knows his customer, will have his shit together or he will fail. That's how markets thrive: with private ownership of small firms and personal accountability. Businesses like that exist like a flash in the pan nowadays - in many industries they're even called 'startups' because their destiny is to present the tantalizing possibility of profits to investors and get snapped up. A business is often not seen as a thing that you do to earn money for your whole life and pass on to your kids but something to start up, sell off, and retire early.

So who is doing the 'buying' here and, eventually, the 'owning'? Investors. Oftentimes not the investment firms themselves, but the people behind them, whose names and faces aren't immediately recognizable to most of us. The people who basically own everything piecemeal - one family owns a piece of that, another owns a piece of that. They lie abstracted behind several layers of money managers or funds and they have one directive: extract value. A guy who owns a small gaming studio wants to build a brand, wants to create something that's good that people will like and buy. He is acting on basic market incentives to provide a valuable product to the market. He knows that if he rips people off his company will suffer and his stake in it will suffer as well. But the person looking to buy his company? They see any brand loyalty that he has built up as value to be mined.
In that case, I'm not sure it's so much capitalism as much as it is corporatism. The structure of corporations almost requires the kind of investor mentality in the long term that we've ended up with.

Yes, but there's hardly anyone who's intelligent enough to only blame the corporations for that shit without using it as an convenient opportunity to blame the entire system for the bullshit that the larger firms are running

I feel like every Zoomer I talk to isn’t even necessarily incompetent, they are just total and complete doomers, like yeah, shits fucked, but it’s gonna get better. I hate the idea that “young people don’t want to work” because they ARE willing to do 40 hours a week, like there parents and grandparents did, but Zoomers seem to have some kind of extreme aversion to the concept of working Overtime, when I worked hourly last year I made fucking bank picking up shifts, and then I would have those some coworkers complain about how much everything costs, like, dude, they keep offering you overtime, it sucks yeah, your shouldn’t HAVE to do it, but if your not gonna rise and grind and try to do literally anything but worry and stare into the abyss, then you might as well just step into traffic.

"It's going to get better"

This is why they doom and hate you, btw. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps right? Give a firm handshake, right?

This right here is why they wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.

both you guys are right in part. Its not going to get better, but yeah- you should be trying to make the most out of the situation. Just do overtime is a bit toxic, but at the same time, sure- it may give you some temporary joy/kicks with the monetary benefit.

Part of the zoomer thing basically is realizing that the system youre in is not stable, that the casino is literally on fire (so to say), with people yelling at you "Just gamble a bit more, just do a bit more overtime and itll be fine!"

and its like, sure, kind of helps- but I dont expect anything to be working well in like 20 years, so thats where the doom and gloom comes from.

Maybe zoomers should pick up the ball and try to put out the fire, but every time someone attempts this, the Gen Xers and Boomers start screaming "Noooooo, not my beautiful fire, quick, toss more money into the fire pit to fuel it even further!!!"

and after seeing this for like 20+ years, people just get a bit jaded about it all.

Not what im saying at all. If you make no effort, your life will not improve, and “even if you do, it’s not gonna get better tomorrow. We (as in the US, can’t speak for the unfortunate souls not born here) are in a very similar situation to where we were in the 70’s, Job market is fucked, insane oil fuel and cost of living crisis, rampant inflation, add on to that the cost of housing, and the advent of AI totally disrupting a lot of White Collar career paths, and yeah, shit is FUCKED. BUT! What came after the 70’s? The 80’s, and if you stack what cash you can, you grind like a slave, you will be in a position to build generational wealth and NOT fuck your kids like the Boomers did. Is it hard to get ahead right now? Absolutely, not disputing that at all, but if your not putting yourself in a position to be able to capitalize on opportunities that will present themselves, then your on the same stupid ass path as the Boomers that somehow squandered the opportunities they were given. For frame of reference, a little over a year ago I was a night shift security guard, and I was bouncing between bullshit jobs for the prior 10 years after Highschool, the one thing I had going for me was I didn’t have student debt, and I work like a Mexican. I stopped smoking weed for lent in 2024, and being able to pass a hair follicle test by not smoking The Cigarette that Makes You Retarded, I got my CDL, and am now in a position that I would tell you was impossible even 6 months ago, and it wasn’t easy, and it’s not gonna get easier for a long time, but, I am seeing progress, and it’s progress I could have made 7 years ago if I hadn’t spent time wallowing in my own sorrow and smoking pot. You can do it to, maybe not driving a truck, maybe you will find some other opportunities, and they are out there, this was just the one I liked the best. You can be smart, or you can be tough, it’s best to be both, but few are so blessed. Embrace The Suck, find the humor in the absurdity of your situation, and endure, and you will prosper.

Lots of places also completely shit on OT hours and rates. It used to be double time for OT hours and now it’s only 1.5x.

Not to mention that OT often doesn’t kick in after 40 hours anymore it kicked in after 45 hours. So if you work work a standard 37.50 hours a week (cause they don’t pay for half hour lunch breaks) you only get OT when you give 2 extra days to your employer (basically either your weekends are gone and you burn out quick) or you evenings are gone because you work 11-12 hour days).

Plus the fact that salary jobs now demand you put in OT even when they don’t actually pay you for it. They might slightly increase your annual bonus because of the OT (but it’s usually only increased by 2k)

I think the big issue is that capitalism over time leads to corporatism and regulatory capture. If money is power and money is inherited eventually you end up with a competent dude who realize that his kids are too retarded to run the company. So some of these people will invent things like the limited liability corporation, lobbying+regulations, and a billion flavors of financial fuckery to idiot-proof the economic system and their companies against their own substandard progeny. All it takes is a few of these people to get political power and you have a system which extracts value endlessly and is hostile to competence by design. Basically a slow-motion economic meatgrinder with a bunch of 'elite' morons standing under the funnel with their mouths open.

Schumpeter actually predicted this ages ago with chilling accuracy, also figuring out that people would become hostile to private ownership - even though it is a very good thing and necessary to a well-functioning economy - because their perception of it would be distorted by the ugly status quo.

"We have seen that, normally, the modern businessman, whether entrepreneur or mere managing administrator, is of the executive type. From the logic of his position he acquires something of the psychology of the salaried employee working in a bureaucratic organization. Whether a stockholder or not, his will to fight and to hold on is not and cannot be what it was with the man who knew ownership and its responsibilities in the fullblooded sense of those words. His system of values and his conception of duty undergo a profound change. Mere stockholders of course have ceased to count at all—quite independently of the clipping of their share by a regulating and taxing state. Thus the modern corporation, although the product of the capitalist process, socializes the bourgeois mind; it relentlessly narrows the scope of capitalist motivation; not only that, it will eventually kill its roots."

"The capitalist process, by substituting a mere parcel of shares for the walls of and the machines in a factory, takes the life out of the idea of property. It loosens the grip that once was so strong—the grip in the sense of the legal right and the actual ability to do as one pleases with one’s own; the grip also in the sense that the holder of the title loses the will to fight, economically, physically, politically, for “his” factory and his control over it, to die if necessary on its steps. And this evaporation of what we may term the material substance of property—its visible and touchable reality—affects not only the attitude of holders but also that of the workmen and of the public in general. Dematerialized, defunctionalized and absentee ownership does not impress and call forth moral allegiance as the vital form of property did. Eventually there will be nobody left who really cares to stand for it—nobody within and nobody without the precincts of the big concerns."

I had a professor who said the biggest flaw in capitalism is it requires moral men to have their hand on the invisible tiller and sadly the kind of men who end up with their hands on the tiller are the kind of men who are so driven that they become immoral. It isn't simply the money, but the power and the ability to win and you end up with things like the corruption that goes along with lobbying or the conditions in the steel mills and mines in the early 20th century. We didn't end up with unions and OSHA and the EPA because the people at the top were treating employees fairly or were worried about their safety or cleaning up their messes. And eventually it ends up at the point where even the system they set up can no longer save them and politicians have to act, if only to safe themselves from being kicked out of office.

Not sure where else to put it, but I'm seeing a lot of renewable-energy-claquers celebrating a new study that simulated how Germany could achieve 100% renewables. And they think it shows that it's easier than previously thought, we just need 37 kWh of energy storage per person. Sounds nice, right? But that's over 2.5 TWh, nearly the entire world's yearly production of battery cells. We currently have 25 GWh installed, and in March 600 MWh were installed, a new record. Right now we have like one Tesla Gigafactory that produces a meager 8 GWh per year, so let's say we build a few more right now and have them produce solely for stationary storage, let's say 100 GWh per year. That's still 25 years until we have enough. The same people are also up in arms that the government is focusing right now on new gas power plants as renewable backups, but folks, the energy storage just isn't there yet, and it won't be for decades. We need those power plants because we're adding insane amounts of renewable peak power but that doesn't mean shit when there's low production for those.
So, why are people this stupid? I mean, it's not a hard concept to understand. I know many of these people are hardcore ideologues who lie as easy as they breathe, but I think many are also just very numbers-blind. They don't understand the difference in scale between Mega, Giga, and Tera. Many of these are managers and people in executive positions, and they are, in my opinion, practically retarded. Some guy said those 37 kWh per person is gonna be easily achieved when everyone has an electric car. But not every single person will have an electric car, and those cars can't be relied upon to be connected to the grid and acting as grid storage when they're needed. Not to mention that people would maybe like their cars to be charged in the morning when they need their cars, so that plan is just retarded front to back.
Where did things go wrong that so many people got into positions of power and leading successful businesses when they're apparently severely mentally handicapped? Do these people condition themselves to overlook glaring flaws, or are they physically incapable of thinking those thoughts?
Saw a guy celebrating one of the biggest stationary batteries in southern Germany, a whopping 100 MWh. So for those plans we need about 25000 of those.

The problem is, zoomers and doomers see that Niggers and tiktok elites don't even need to put in 40 hours to coast on while they can put in 60 and still not get their own place, car etc.

It is one thing to slave away for yourself, another entirely to slave away so that Slomo and Shaniggua can get more off from it.

It is just not fair and zoomers just measure it, perhaps not wrongly, as not worth it.

Slomo (stastically) doesn’t know how to read English, and lives off the (waiting) generosity of older successful Hasidic Jews, and will live and die in poverty, because his religion encourages him not to work, he is also probably a genetic deadend, and has several permanent disfiguring genetic illnesses due to inbreeding, Shannigua will also own nothing, because she is a retarded nigger, she will also be dead before she is 60, and her only joys in this world will be food she could buy in a for profit prison. You however, as someone who isn’t a slave for the state, have the potential to at the very least escape the consequences of the Civil Rights Act. Yes, it’s retarded and absurd that any amount of your money (let alone 30%) goes to financing the lives of people who would better serve society as mulch, but consider the alternative to nor putting in the work is living near niggers.

I meant Slomo as the US 1% elite who is buying up houses.

If you work for a corpo, you are working for them.

The only way would be trades (lol, zoomers and physical labour doesn't mix) or small stores (killed ages ago by amazon and Shitjeet Hardpoo).
