The icing on the turd cake is that they haven't even touched on the origin stories of Flash, Aquaman, or Cyborg at all aside from those super-brief, out-of-place clips in BvS.

Marvel had either had full-blown movies about their characters (Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Hulk) or had them have a decent-enough prescence before that you could understand them easily (Window, Hawkeye, Fury) before The Avengers ever hit theaters.

DC isn't doing that. They're actually doing the opposite. They have TV series featuring some of these characters (Flash, Arrow, Supergirl), but these characters in the movies are nothing like the established characters on the shows.

It's a complete shit-show.

Even the TV shows of DC superheros suck. The Flash started out great but it's going downhill fast. They insert too much feminism 'woo girl power!!' in Supergirl. Agent Carter didn't do that and it had a female protag.

It's truly a shitshow, and I'm calling it now but if the Justice League underperforms like BvS did then expect DC to reboot everything. Which could be awful, or the best thing for them to do right now.

Honestly, the one big thing Marvel figured out but DC hasn't isn't the use of humor. It's the simple fact Marvel's characters are likable and DC's aren't.

The JusticeVerse which began with Man of Steel has done nothing but present the "heroes" as a bunch of unlikable spergs who have no interest in mitigating collateral damage. Superman is an angsty whiner who doesn't even consider the damage he does when he throws down with Zod or Doomsday. Batfleck is violent sociopath who murders people who get in his way regardless if they're "good guys" or not.

The Nolanverse Batman movies are anything but humorous. Yeah you get the occasional quip from Bruce or Alfred but it's usually got a sour undertone to it, meant to underscore how these guys are damaged. Or you get dark humor from characters like the Joker. But the Batman in these movies is very obviously heroic. In the Dark Knight, Batman has to beat up the SWAT guys because he's got no choice if he wants to save the Joker's hostages. The cool, heroic music starts playing as this guy sacrifices what little legitimacy he has left to save innocent people. Batfleck would've just made a bee-line to the Joker, killing any cop who got in his way and ultimately charging in to break the clown's neck. No one wants to see that. If we want to see the Punisher we can just watch his upcoming show, because Marvel even fucking did that better than DC already.

Zack Snyder thinks we're all a bunch of pansy-assed faggots for wanting our superheroes to save people or act like decent human beings and people are sick of that.

I agree, it's one thing Marvel is good at. They're wonderful at casting actors for their superhero parts too, Chris Evens is such a likable Captain America. DC is awful at this, Gal Godt can't act at all and she's such a unlikable awful Wonder Woman.

Batfleck is getting his own movie which is hilarious. It's going to be Batman murdering people for a hour and fourty minutes. There's also going to be a Man of Steel 2, which will be as bad as the first one.

They really need to let go of Zack Snyder. Even his visuals, which he's always praised for, are suffering big time in the DC universe. Tons of shacky cam, incoherent fighting, and gloomy color palettes. He's just not a good director to begin with.

DC is a hot mess, they need to clean up their act or else.

I'm just waiting for DC and Zack Snyder to run out of ideas, and make a gritty, edgy film adaptation of this comic.

I was going to give the film a second chance if it got an extended edition like BVS did. And when I heard they were making one I was initially happy until I saw that it was only going to add 13 minutes, so I decided to just wait and see what people say about the extended cut, and after hearing that it pretty much does nothing to fix the films biggest problems I decided that I was done with the film. If Warner Brothers doesn't want to show us the film in it's full uncut form then I refuse to ever watch it again.
I said it once and I'll say it again, When the freaking Lego Batman Movie looks leagues (pun entirely intended) better than any of the recent and upcoming live action DC films that's when you know you've failed at creating a cinematic universe.

I can't believe they only added 13 minutes to the 'extended' edition when the entirety of the original was allegedly topping 3 hours. Robbie & Leto even said that there was enough Harley & Joker footage for a movie focusing primarily on them alone, yet they added a measly thirteen minutes? Considering what everyone has also said about those thirteen minutes, it's not worth buying either.

Pity, it had potential that was horribly wasted throughout. Harley especially. The actors portrayed their characters fine, it was the script and story they were given that ultimately led to the film's massive, massive shortcomings.

The new Battfleck movie I'm cautiously optimistic for if only because they're keeping Snyder far away from it. Ben is writing and directing it, and he has almost completely control over the movie. He was reportedly frustrated with how they wrote the character in BvS so there's a chance we might get a decent film from him.

As far as the DC TV shows go, I have to agree with you. DC started pretty strong with Arrow, but I ditched that at like the beginning of season 3 because it just started turning into a cheeky high school show where super heroes sometimes show up. The bits and pieces I've seen of the Flash and Supergirl suggest the same thing. Those shows have basically become Buffy but with hoods and masks instead of vampires.

Gotham started out really good but I dropped that too when the writers opted to start teasing a bunch of literally gay Tumblr shipping fantasies and throw in painfully transparent Trump commentary.
