I assume all adults involved with Nintendo autism like speedrunning is some form of molester or freak until proven otherwise.

I like to watch the occasional video about speedrunning some ancient game but the amount of splitting hair over what is already a mental illness is ridiculous.

Like I saw a video about some yugioh game where a guy found how to manipulate the seed to brute force RNG and that's okay but just manipulating the drop tables is bad because it's cheating? A lot of those things in general become insane random dice rolls with no correlation to any ability or memorization.

And with all those degenerated that waste their lives just doing the same dice toss over and over, how do they buy groceries? Is it all welfare? Who watches them, is it other speedrunners?

I'm not into speed running, hell, the only game I think I like enough to even consider is timesplitters future perfect and that's just a haha what if

But watching summoning salt and eating is peak cozy material, seeing the level of actual weaponized to cut off a few seconds is just

Yeah, his reputation was already blemished in the community in 2020 when he unhoarded (released all at once) a ton of world records he had set to obtain all 32 in the game, disrespecting the competition with his main competitor (MR) who had been releasing his times as he set them.

I remember hearing about it, kind of ridiculous to whine about it when the alternative is getting into insane month long war of attrition with the previous records holders.

Guess there's lots of schadenfreude in that community right now.

It was a kid in the community he was at the top of, he's a teacher and the victim was a student there. Just a different community sadly.

I wanted to see how close I could get to a record in a game I absolutely love and have played from time to time since it was released. Wave Race 64, stellar game, I'm pretty decent at it.

Here's a video I made for another thread way before I attempted this. Hadn't played WR64 for 2-3 years but settled on playing Mirror Lake Reverse. This is my first try(that's also why the turning is so heavy).

Then 1-2 years went by and I decided to see how close I could come to the speedrunning record. Not even close. Hm. So I watched the video attached to the world record and my mistake was that I just played the default guy with no change in tuning. There's a heavy Bowser-like character with higher top speed that sucks to play, have to use that one. Plus the tuning settings has to be changed so it gets obnoxious play. Whatever, I'll give it a try. Spent maybe two hours playing that way and it fucking sucked! One of my favorite games was no longer fun and relaxing. Speedrunning can suck nigger dick.
