Way back in the early days of Pokemon (98-00 or so), long before The Pokemon Company existed, Game Freak's American lawyer(s) would comb the internet and send out C&Ds to any website that looked even remotely official, or gave out too much information about Pokemon merchandise, official or otherwise. Needless to say their lawyers are a lot less rabid now, but I still remember all the well-polished sites that got shut down.

They don't even have the budget to make horrific CG versions of Tails and Knuckles LOL.
Only thing that can save this is Jim Carrey going full ham as Robotnik, and even then, it might as well be too late.
 
This is where they keep screwing up with video game movies.

Super Mario Bros. and Sonic the Hedgehog are properties that are made to be animated. The environments lend itself to animation, and Sonic in particular is all about speed and energy, which is much easier to achieve in animation than in live action.

That, and making them live action just dips them heavily into the uncanny valley.

Why isn't his mustache any longer and spikier, what the fuck that better just be the opening scene and he grows it out later.

Also are we sure that poster of Robotnik was actually fake? Because... the mustache is too similar.
 
No one cares how Robotnik got bald. Just make him fucking bald.
