One 18-year-old male was killed and eight students were hurt in a shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch and police say “two shooters” were caught by officers running into the building. Both suspects are students at the school.

The school is located approximately 8 miles from Columbine High School in neighboring Jefferson County.

Denver7 reported that investigators believe at least one of the suspects stole the guns from the parents of the 18-year-old suspect,

Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock confirmed that at least two handguns were used in the shooting.

High-ranking sources told Denver7 Tuesday night that three handguns and a rifle were recovered but said the rifle was not used in the shooting

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – One student is dead and eight others injured after two of their classmates opened fire at a suburban Denver STEM school on Tuesday.

Superintendent Thomas S. Tucker said in a letter to parents that STEM School Highlands Ranch, a public charter school with more than 1,850 students in kindergarten through 12th grade, will be closed for the remainder of the week.

"This is a terrible event," Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock said. "This is something that nobody wants to happen in their community."

Kendrick Castillo, 18, was identified Wednesday as the lone fatality, the sheriff said.

One suspect is a "female juvenile," police said after originally identifying the teen as male. The other was identified by police as Devon Erickson, 18.

It defies calls for gun control, since the firearms were acquired lawlessly; defies claims of white supremacy or tRump's rhetoric, as it was a diverse pair of kids; defies all the major points of the media's typical agenda. The heroes were as diverse as the shooters even, with an upstanding hispanic boy losing his life. Nobody's agenda is served by this, the only righteous way to cover it is to address more organic roots for its origins: mental health issues, or even abuse by the medical establishment for encouraging transing kids.

I wonder if the girl was already on HRT, already being sterilized? Adolescence is hard enough without that kind of abuse! Apparently she is a lesbian whose father left, and for that she blamed her mother. It's almost as if transgender identifcation in females tends to follow a certain predictable pattern. Hmm. Detectives are also trying to determine whether it's possible a bullet from a private officer's gun hit one of the injured students.

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Authorities are investigating a report that a private security officer at STEM School Highlands Ranch shot at a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy responding to Tuesday’s attack that left one student dead and eight others wounded, 9Wants to Know has confirmed with multiple law enforcement sources.

Investigators are also looking at the possibility a bullet from that security officer’s gun may have hit and wounded one of the students injured in the incident – a question that likely will not be answered until ballistics testing is complete, 9Wants to Know has learned.

“News to me,” said Grant Whitus, the owner of BOSS High Level Protection, the private security firm contracted to have an officer at the school.

“I know nothing about that because I haven’t interviewed him,” Whitus said. “Douglas County hasn’t interviewed him yet, so I can’t comment.”

Douglas County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cocha Heyden declined to comment, saying the attack on the school is an ongoing investigation.

One student, Kendrick Castillo, died after he and classmates rushed one of the two gunmen – both teenagers – who entered the school at 8773 S. Ridgeline Blvd shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The suspects were both identified by Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock as students at the school, which has an enrollment of 1,850. Both were taken into custody, and both appeared in court Wednesday.

An 18-year-old student was advised that he was being held on suspicion of one count of first-degree murder after deliberation and 29 counts of attempted first-degree murder after deliberation. The other suspect is a juvenile. A decision on whether to charge that suspect as an adult will be made Friday, said George Brauchler, district attorney in the 18th Judicial District.

Tuesday’s report of “shots fired in the school” brought an immediate response from multiple Douglas County deputies and command officers.

One of those deputies later reported the incident with the private security officers to investigators.

Whitus, who spent 26 years with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office before retiring in 2014, said that standard protocol requires that his security officer be questioned by authorities before discussing the incident with anyone at the company.

“I can’t talk to him until the sheriffs have talked to him,” Whitus told 9Wants to Know late Wednesday.

Upper class woke people in colorado typically live in Boulder, or in Denver itself (rather than a suburb). There are some hippy hideouts in smaller places like fort collins and durango as well. Places like highlands ranch are where rich people buy cookie cutter houses in nice neighborhoods with good schools. People move there to get away from degeneracy & raise their families. It is a mix of moderate people, generally.

Outside of the political aspect of this, students may have known that the shooters would not have been deterred by gun laws, for whatever reason. Like if they knew those kids talked about bombs a lot, then it would be super irritating for some dipshit to come in and preach about how they need to dedicate their lives to gun control. Or maybe they just went through some horrible shit and don't want to talk about voting registration as part of their grieving.

I think dude's right to be skeptical. The journalist I got my info from works for the Daily Wire. His side would look good if something like this happened. Most of the MSM is left wing but not every single outlet is.

Vigil held for Kendrick Castillo, victim in STEM School shooting

A vigil was held for 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo, who was killed in the STEM School shooting Tuesday.

The vigil was set up by Team Enough, a pro-gun control organization which I'm sure is a good sign. There is a school ten minutes from STEM School Highlands Ranch called Highland Ranch High School. Because the names are so similar, I can't tell for sure if the student speakers are students of stem or students from the high school. I'm guessing that every student that got to speak during the vigil was from the high school (except for the one 8th grader who said she was from the local middle school) because the few speaking students all introduced themselves as Highland Ranch students, and they seem to call the stem charter students "stem students" to differentiate. Again, if I'm right, that means no stem student got to speak during any of this.

My timestamps might be off because I'm watching the video at 1.75x speed. I noticed that sometimes messes with the times youtube shows me.

0:30 Mic is given to an 11th grade student and member of Team Enough. She talks about how the vigil is being held to disarm hate. The adults apparently weren't the only ones who forgot to mention the victims. She didn't mention any of them.

1:30 Given to another student - this time a senior and also a member of Team Enough. Camera lingers on guy scratching below his nose. I have no idea why. Student only speaks for a short while. She thanks everyone for coming and the teachers, she says that they're all here for their neighbors and friends because of the shooting, thanks teachers for being there for their students, and thanks first responders before passing the mic off to another student at 3:05

3:05-7:30 This 8th grader is the first person to even reference that there were students injured or killed.

8:30 Representative Jason Crow and his wife are introduced. The fact that he's Vice Chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force is mentioned. His wife speaks first and he speaks at 11:10. He is the FIRST person to mention Castillo in this entire vigil. Jesus Christ. He goes on to say that him and other politicians were elected to show leadership and make policies but doesn't mention to the students exactly what policy should be created. I give him points for at least speaking about the victims.

15:45-21:15 Senator Michael Farrand Bennet is given the mic. Says he visited two of the wounded students in the hospital and that his heart is broken for Kendrick Castillo then talks about gun laws.

21:35-26:16 Laura Reeves of Moms Demand Action takes the mic and talks about guns. If she was the straw that broke the camel's back then I actually can't tell by watching this. If the students hated her, they were pretty polite about it.

26:25 is when the students get antsy. A student screamed out "Let [I can't make the name out] speak" to very loud applause from the other students. Callie Leyva, whose husband was a teacher at Columbine and whose son was at Deer Creek middle school during the shooting there, has the mic and says that she'd like to let some stem students speak but her and her team were "unable to connect with any" so she suggests that the students who want to speak step into the hall with who I'm assuming is a teacher so they can decide on which stem students will get the mic. Some students leave the auditorium.

29:00-32:00 She has her husband speak. I wish the cameras panned out to show us what was happening around 31:27 while Callie Leyva's husband spoke. There seems to be kids starting to flow out of the auditorium but it's hard to tell how many and if they're going to the hallway to see if they'll get to speak or if they're already starting to go outside in protest. Btw neither Callie, her husband, or Laura Reeves mentioned Kendrick Castillo.

32:02 Callie Levya talks again to thank the students and staff.

33:00 Students are told that the lights will be dimmed and to please use a candle or use a phone as they prepare for an interfaith portion of the service. The camera pans out to show the auditorium and there are noticeable chunks of empty spots that were filled with students at the beginning of the vigil.

33:53 Random bitch mom interrupts the moment of silence to say "the media just took all of our stem students and took them outside." The remaining kids are pissed. A man tries to convince some to stay behind and speak or continue the vigil but it doesn't seem to be working. The media made our kids go outside part is starting to seem false because a speaker starts apologizing. The speaker says "If anyone was offended that was not our intent" as if she just found out the stem students walked out because they were offended by what was said during the vigil.
