GSC is trying (not too subtly) to cover up their retardation of the lore.
The Brainscorcher was the big obstacle between Stalkers and the center of the Zone. Obviously, it makes a return in Stalker 2. But uh oh! GSC moved the Brainscorcher to the south west corner of the map! This means it's completely off the path to serve as any kind of obstacle on the path to the CNPP! The russian bots noticed it, and our shills aren't screeching loud enough to cover it up!
So what do they do to fix this gaping lore-hole? Copy paste the antennas to the Iron Forest (which was originally in Zaton [north of Pripyat], but since the entire Zaton has been split into many parts, it's now sitting right next and inbetween the CNPP and Garbage) so you can make a "second" Brainscorcher.
Now, obviously, this is purely speculations because all we have is a screenshot, but I'd place a big bet on this being the truth.
You know, GSC doing a "WELL, AKSCHUALLY, THERE WERE MORE BRAINSCORCHERS!!!!" simply to excuse their rape on the topography of the Zone.

As for the original Brainscorcher, it's existence in the game is very simple - soybait. It's simply there to make the easy-to-impress fans do the soyjack face and point at the location because "IT'S JUST LIKE IN MY HECKIN WHOLESOME TRILOGY!!!!".

Their desire for a realistic map ruined both the lore and the gameplay. While yeah, it's a nice map in terms of replicating the real area, it's terrible for actually playing in. The ratio of walking to anything else is way worse than the previous games and the size of the map has resulted in most of the locations being uninteresting because they all offer the same generic loot and enemies. The game would've benefitted from having transitions between levels instead of one big map, e.g. like what was done in Metro Exodus.

who cares what you do to a map when half of stalker 2 fans are larpers with 1000+ hours in anomaly modpacks
Actual fans care.
Anomaly is the core of the tumour on Stalker that has been actively enshittifying it since the mod popped into existence. The only thing that's worse is GAMMA, which sprouted from it.

I tried GAMMA twice and I just could never go into it, it is a completely different game, not just a STALKER mod. I prefer story stuff so the sandbox aspect is additionally not for me. Anyone got good Stalker story mod recommendations?

Just one more system bro I swear.
Just let me put in a boredom meter bro!
Just le me put in a clothes parts system bro! That would totally revolutionize stalker!

She defected because sexual assault.
Something told me it was either that or rape, but I thought I was misremembering it because it would be so fucking dumb.
I assume the DLC will return the cut aspect of "Returning the Old Factions to their Roots".
Just so I dont send a useless post, here's a new story mod with English translation, altough it uses Gunslinger for SOC, so it can't be that good.

Think this might go on my to-play list after finish Solyanka.

As for the factions, there is absolutely nothing GSC can do to repay their sins after neutering almost every single one in the game (including the new ones [how the fuck?])

The mod seemed interesting on paper, so I downloaded it to try it out, and I immediately found an exploit lmao

You can exploit the dialogue options of certain NPCs to obtain infinite supplies. For example, there's a point where you have to talk to Colonel Petrenko; he'll give you some basic supplies for your mission, but if you close the dialogue window after receiving them and then reopen it, the dialogue chain will repeat, so you'll get those items over and over again. This allows you to sell the surplus and immediately buy the best equipment.

Of course, exploiting the mod like that and removing all sense of progression sucks ass so it's better not to abuse it.

There used to be (and still is I think) an exploit like this in Clear Sky. You could get infinite Vintorezes from the Forester if you did this with his dialogue after handing him the Compass.

The faction wars in Clear Sky were some of the most fun I've had in the games, even though it was shitty at times with me having to wait like 10 minutes to get reinforcements on my position and complete the mission of taking over an outpost. The size of the Staller 2 map would actually be beneficial for a full blown faction war all over it, although it will probably never happen thanks to the shittiness of the game and limited modding capabilities.

I'm just upset that Zulu isn't carrying his characteristic PKM around. I guess he just never bothered getting a new one after handing his to Degtyarov.
