Sotsugou being treated as a "remake" at first was probably the worst thing going for this show initally. I don't know how many people have come up to me saying "man this remake of Higurashi is weird, I just dont get it" and then proceed to drop the series as a whole, thinking the DEEN anime and the VN are just like the mess which is Gou.

This is so fucking dumb I had to post his entire inner monologue. How could you believe this without a second thought, Ooishi? There's no way your paranoia has let you come to this deduction, you clearly have bias toward this kid just because he shows actual concern for a friend. Given that had Keiichi just killed Teppei like he originally would, Ooishi would antagonize him as a suspect, but at least he has probable cause for that. He doesn't even have that here.

IT’S SO BAD. Being forced to realize all the leaks were real and Satoko fighting herself was real, as in, now she never has to take responsibility for what she’d done because it was a witch the whole time!! Wow!! And that doesn’t matter anymore either because she’s dead now, I guess, and we have Witch!Satoko now or something?
I cannot stand how hard he is pushing this into tying into Umineko. Bern and Lambda were just supposed to a fun little nod to Higurashi and not be anything deeper. They were their own characters. This is beyond stupid and any level of comprehension.

I've said it a bunch of times already, but Bern and Lambda's psycho bdsm lesbians shtick was supposed to be a reflection of the conflict between Rika and Takano. Satoko had nothing to do with Lambda beyond superficial resemblance. The Umineko manga went a step further and had Lambda reference making a deal with young Takano when she first talks to Yasu. Ryukishi probably forgot all that plus wanted his ~kyute psycho yuris uwu~
