This thread is meant to document/archive/discuss 'RuPaul's Drag Race,' the largest LGBTQ+ media franchise with series in the US, UK, Australia, Holland, Thailand, and more. Understanding this show is understanding the development of the left and the self-destructive traits of identity politics.

A basic summary of the show is that contestants compete in weekly drag challenges that test skills like fashion design, comedy, acting, dancing, singing, and branding. At the end of each episode, the weakest performers usually lip-sync for survival and one queen is eliminated until a final group remains and a winner is crowned.

To draw your attention to this thread and to establish some mainstream relevancy (besides telling you about a potential season winner posing as a casting director while forcing men in audition tapes to strip, take steroids, and satisfy a fart/sweaty armpit fetish) here is speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi as a guest judge, walking the runway in a silly piss-colored suit. Also 23rd prime minister of Canada Justin Trudeau and 49th Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris, both with brief appearances in the "werk-room."

What makes this show interesting is not just that it's men dressed up as women, but because of the incredibly insane people who participate. You will witness the progressive insanity brought upon by the queer community in real time and the constant neglect of genuine responsibility. You will see winners of the show, hailed as the most important/influential drag queens in the community, go from a Nazi role-player Sharon Needles to a Jewish transgender Broadway/Doctor Who actor Jinkx Monsoon in just one seasons time.

You will see direct hatred towards white queens by black queens and then see a photo of every notable black queen, including RuPaul himself, with their white boyfriends/husbands. One of these includes 'Bob The Drag Queen,' a gender-queer winner of Season 8 of drag race and participant on The Traitors reality show, photoed with his two white boyfriends who he's in a poly-relationship. Bob says it's hot when a white person calls him nigger in bed, and the video below is a black person expressing his frustration with this.

A long time ago, when I was going through a reddit phase (fuck you, I bet you're perfect) the subreddit dedicated to this show was always popping up. For a long time I kept mis-reading the name as "Rupaul's disgrace" before learning what the show was roughly about by cultural osmosis. Good to see my misinterpretation turned out to be prophetic.

The only other time I heard about the show was when Henry Rollins praised Rupaul for being a true punk because openly being a tranny in muh cuntservative 'murica is the most rebellious and risky thing you can do in 2011 or so.

openly being a tranny
One thing I want to touch on is the fact that being a drag queen and being transgender has changed a LOT over the past few years. The original phrase used for calling competitors to attention in the show was "Oh girl, you got she-male" but they had to change that around Season 8. The tag line for the show used to be "Let the best woman win," but then people got upset because not all drag queens identify as a women, so they changed that.

Every season has a song made by RuPaul tied to it and for All Stars 1, a notoriously under covered season that came out thirteen years ago, the song name was "It's Your Responsitrannity"

They even had a challenge related to identifying she-males, which was banned by streaming platforms/edited out, "Female or She-male." Sorry for the horrible quality, but this the only video of it available. This happened on Season 6.

Also, RuPaul notoriously said that taking HRT was like taking performance enhancing drugs for the competition, and said he wouldn't cast any troons. (He has since walked back these statements and began to cast transgender women on HRT, including one transgender male that was a drag queen and had gotten top-surgery done)

The fact that faghags and transmaidens are still seal clapping this shit after 20 years is so telling of how fake it is. Yeah, I watched the first season of RuPual... in 2009 when I was a teenager. By the start of the third season I didn't need any more. How many times can you hear the same catty jokes, see the same three types of costumes, and see fake breastes on men before it gets boring? At least Big Brother and Survivor are so old watching a new season might be interesting again. Also didn't RuPual himself admit he fuckes teenagers?

Not at all surprising. Rollins is the biggest faggot in punk music, closely followed by those mick retards Dropkick Murphy.
Also Black Fag is overrated garage.

Ok, I have a confession. I unironically watched and enjoyed Drag Race up to season 9 (later seasons are so fake and predictable that it's not really worth to watch, all the most talented people already competed before). Yes, it's faggy. Yes, it's degenerate. Let the girl have a guilty pleasure fashion and design reality show ok
Drag is fun and in itself is a source of infinite creativity. Show was fun before trannies started to pop up more and more. Speaking of, Gottmik, can someone explain what the fuck goes on in her head? She transitioned to become a man only to dress up as a woman as her job..?

Anyway. my favorite contestant is got to be Maddy Morphosis just on the grounds that it's literally just a straight dude. Go, girl, culturally appropriate this form of art and make the fags SEETHE while at it

For me it was up to 10, then I got tired of the series because of the trajectory it was going.

GottMik is a weird case in itself, yeah. I don't like her approach to drag. It's a very strange, convoluted mess and she would have fallen off the radar by now if she wasn't friends with Season 7 winner Violet Chachki, who was the queen who was in the Mareux - The Perfect Girl music video. I saw somebody complain about this ruining the song for them one time on a thread here lol.

But yeah having somebody whose whole persona was "look I'm trans" became an exhausting perspective on the show, especially after Season 14. GottMiks top-surgery scar runway is still to this day the most disgusting runway entry and people saw it as "empowering." She also had a medical-waste bag filled with fake blood and fake breasts.

Maddy is funny and I remember him "coming out" during the show. This will probably be the only time in history we get a clip of a straight man who "comes out" as straight to a group of gay men. This clip is from Season 14, Maddy's season.

who watches this? shit like this bores the fuck outta me and id imagine it would bore most fags too.
A lot of men used to watch it with their wives or live-in girlfriends. I used to back in 2010.

"Tatiana" from Season 2 was a contestant who would brag about how straight men always wanted to fuck him. Apparently guys legitimately couldn't tell when he was in full drag. He was 21 back then, he's 38 now.

Carmen Carerra was another one male viewers wanted to sodomize. He has since trooned out.

Raja was a winner of one of the seasons. He was actually talented. I think he was a makeup artist on America's Next Top Model. Back then, the show seemed apolitical and more art-based, but I may be fooling myself and misremembering.

I still hate Shangela and I don't even remember why.

He was definitely one of the "better passers" for the earlier seasons. And yeah he had a whole spoken word piece about deceiving a man when he was on All Stars 2.

Raja was refreshing to see on his season because he didn't care about offending anyone. He hated fat people and would call them out for being unhealthy. Also he dressed up as a native american and then called the look "Nava-Hoe." Miss those times.

You would be excited to know that Shangela now has multiple SA allegations against him and has since been ostracized from the community. Shangela was obnoxious on all three seasons she was on.

It's basically turned into RuPaul's Fund My Troon-out Race, I'm a homosexual and I can't make it through one episode of this crap, not sure how the white women do it tbh. The fans are more insufferable than even the show itself so there will be a constant supply of milk for this thread.

Not to mention using their birth name as their drag name (Michaela Gottleib = Gottmik). I'll give them that at least they have a more positive outlook on their transition by not seeing their sex and their birthname as a blight, but as a part of their history that can be incorporated creatively, going against the more popular self-hating ideas promoted within the trans community. It seems as if Gottmik sees it more as a personal choice that they made rather than to "correct" something "wrong" at birth.

Honestly, one incredibly insidious piece of messaging on the show imo is about fatness. In seasons 1 - 3, it'd be normal for skinner, prettier queens to be catty and insulting towards fat queens, but then this took a hard left in the opposite direction in season 4 with RuPaul telling obese queen Jiggly Caliente to "embrace the jiggly" in response to his admitted bulimia. The fat positivity continued, culminating in some absolutely disgusting moments in season 12 with Silky Nutmeg Ganache, a deathfat comedy queen who often ate obscenely on stage as part of his schtick. Admittedly, he moved incredibly well, but he had a stomach that hung down to his knees, and this was celebrated as positive and liberating rather than the deranged death worship that it actually is. Monumentally evil.
