The allergy talk came from an old post a scorned ex employee shared wherein he said that the procedure Monty went to the hospital for initially was a treatment to boost his immunity to a cat allergy, but his body reacted so poorly that he went into anaphylactic shock and died.

The other story is that he died as a result to an allergy to the generalized anesthetic used in surgery. The surgery had something to do with his cat allergies, but a lot of that cat-related information has been lost to time or buried by those deflecting blame from the girlfriend/wife.

Sorry just realized this was in the conspiracy thread not the RWBY thread.

First thing's first, this isn't a theory, this is documented fact:

Monty Oum's wife, Sheena Oum, adopted a cat. Monty was deathly allergic to cats, so much so that he had to regularly go to the hospital to get injections to bolster his system against the cat he was now living with. Monty died of complications following a severe allergic reaction caused by exposure to a cat.

Now where the whole "Sheena murdered him" thing comes from is that it was well documented that Monty was a workaholic and would jeapordize his health regularly through a nasty combination of poor sleep, poor diet, and severe overwork. Man was dedicated to his craft. This would have put a lot of stress on his system and the constant exposure to the cat would have caused a severe reaction in an already overworked and overstressed body. There's also this whole thing where I guess Monty's family didn't even know he was married and were very confused as to why Sheena was getting all the life insurance money and not them and very shortly after his death his widow got a very expensive boobjob to help her career as a professional cosplayer/softcore porn photo model so there's that. She also very quickly started selling damn near anything she could get her hands on that had his signature and she started her own merch line including a key chain that had the cat on it.

I don't think she honestly meant to kill him, calling it murder is a bit hyperbolic, but I do believe that her extreme negligence combined with Monty's poor work/life balance is what killed him and she is responsible because honestly who the fuck adopts a cat when your spouse is deathly allergic? Her subsequent behavior immediately after the death also shows that hoes ain't loyal but honestly that's what you get when you marry a cos-thot.

Shame, I really liked them, even got their latest merch drop. They managed to stay largely out of politics in their content from what I watched (not saying they were 100% apolitical, I didn’t catch anything else) up until… like this week, where they made some jokes about Ted Cruz which were apparently funny enough to whoever’s managing the channel they got their own short upload, and now this.

I don’t think I’m going to buy from them again now.
 
It is funny, something this small ("i'm not uploading for a day because i'm being political") viewed through a lens of 15 years ago would be very innocuous. A minor eyeroll if I disagreed, a minor "good for you" if I did. But given culture's (and specifically RT's) propensity to pick huge fights and split audiences over it, this is a great reminder that these are people that hate half their audience and everything they stand for.

I miss when you could infer people's politics but it was kept out the work.

I really did just want to grill/play video games/joke with my friends/all of the above.

I got this ping since im in their discord and just laughed. Like, congrats on your three day weekend, guys. Whatever shall we do with no stream? watch one of the billion other content creators out there I guess.

Reminds me of the time Game Grumps said they wouldn't post anything during the Floyd Riots so not to make noise to drown out the conversation. This performative type of shit is always so gay, man. Especially considering a majority of the US is absolutely fine with what ICE is doing. Just can't say it out loud for fear of backlash. Not to mention there's really only 1 problem area for ICE and it's the one that just so happens to be laundering money for the DNC.
 
you'd think gavin of all people with how much trouble he had getting a green card would be pro ICE, ICE is not going after immigrants they are going after ILLEGAL immigrants, those that didn't feel like going through all the shit gavin did to get into the US.
