Unfortunately I think part of the lack of growth is that an awful lot of people are, to put it delicately, fucking morons and can't be assed to learn how to use the site. That's not an indictment of anything, just the experience I've had trying to get a few people to join. Only one referral ever went "oh yeah, I recognize that site format, it's just like the message boards I've always used." The others balked and never signed up.

Unfortunately anything that doesn't have a UI similar to Snapchat or Facebook isn't going to be something that people can navigate anymore. Younger people are even less "tech savvy" (or whatever you want to call the ability to navigate a bog standard forum/message board site) than older people at this point.

Many people just want something with instant gratification. I see a lot in those my age, so they wouldn't be really appealed by KF or any sort of forum. The centralization of the internet to few instant gratification websites sucks.

The furry board was really getting stagnant.

Makes sense because the average furry's life is stagnant and worthless.

i see the vision, much cleaner now. i have a small nitpick though. would it be possible to add multiple thread prefixes to a thread through a plugin or something? not familiar with xenforo so idk if its possible but for example the furry fandom general should have both the furry tag and the community tag in my opinion for easier browsing

I agree with the merging of lolcow and internet famous, I’m kinda neutral on the furry board being merged too, but Community Watch? That’s not a lolcow it’s like a… collective retarded consciousness, it doesn’t really fit the terminology.

Honestly I think there really are people who just think ‘Today I want to check out some furry lolcows specifically’, or some fandom drama, without really having a specific individual/community in mind, and I fear this change might make it more difficult for new threads to really prosper without getting bumped down to the second page by high traffic ones like the Boogie Thread or something. It’s a lot more competition to deal with.

I actually do like reading the broader-scope community threads more than ones focused on individuals. It makes sense to merge them together though as community threads often have the same people get regularly posted or person threads grow into (person)-verse threads.
