1- And CaptKarisma says what I did but more eloquently. Good job, sir.
2- As a kid I thought Adam Bomb was the guy's real name. Admittedly I was jealous.

i loved lots of their wordplay names. funnily enough it took his death for me to finally catch on to "paul bearer" my other favorites were henry o. godwinn and phinneas i. godwinn. h.o.g. and p.i.g.

I didn't figure out the Godwinn wordplay until much later. As a kid I just figured "Phineas? Must be a farmer name" and moved on. Another "as a kid" thing, I was a fan of Aldo Montoya. Not because of his wrestling or his outfit or anything important like that. Why I liked him? His nickname of "Portugese Man-O-War" which I thought was insanely cool.

I heard a LOT about Aldo Montoya via chat rooms and message boards, but I never saw him on TV except for one match on Raw. The fact that he wore a jockstrap on his face did not give him a push.

i thought he was justin the stock room of target loading boxes.

That's Shane Douglas...if you told me 15 years ago that most ECW wrestlers would disappear off the face of the earth or work part-time jobs in retail (or die), I'd call you a liar.

hindsight is 20/20 but it is the life of a wrestler...

Well to be fair Shane Douglas is doing Extreme Rising now. Where it's title is defended over Madden by Stevie Richards. Yeah, Target manager sounds better.

To this day, I still don't see the appeal to a bunch of sweaty straight muscular men grabbing each other and pinning each other to the ground for 3 seconds. There's also the argument that all of it's faked, but to be honest, if they actually used the moves they use intentionally without holding back like they do in the ring, they could probably kill someone like that.

i always liked it for the characters and show. it's funny. it's campy. i originally started doing it because i stopped doing stage acting. but soon found out most of the workers were bitchier than some of the stage actors i worked with.

No problem with this. Honestly to each their own at the end of the day. There is an inherent goofiness to two guys fake fighting for a shiny belt. But I think when done well it can make for some amazing watching. Not only from an athleticism standpoint but also from a story telling standpoint.

I've tried watching real fights and they're SO BORING! They either end in a few seconds or go the whole length of time. Since wrestling is scripted, boring matches are less common as long as they're written right.

As mentioned, to each their own. You like what you like. Personally I love it. The action, the unpredictability, the atmosphere, I love it all. We're barely in April and I've seen some at least 10 great fights already. Do some fights suck? Absolutely but the good outweighs the bad for me.

You guys, mania live was amazing. Tailgated from 11am to showtime. Even though I'm totally sunburned it was worth it.
