Pornhub will block access for Floridians on Jan. 1 - Restrictions will take place in protest of the state's new age verification requirements.

Restrictions will take place in protest of the state's new age verification requirements.

No one in Florida will be able to access Pornhub, the most trafficked pornography website worldwide, as of Jan. 1.

Officials with Aylo, the parent company to the pornography site, confirmed it will deny access for all users in the state. An email from the company made clear the restriction will happen in protest of new age verification requirements imposed by a state law (HB 3) going into effect in 2025.

“Unfortunately, the way many jurisdictions worldwide, including Florida, have chosen to implement age verification is ineffective, haphazard and dangerous,” reads an email from Aylo. “Any regulations that require hundreds of thousands of adult sites to collect significant amounts of highly sensitive personal information is putting user safety in jeopardy. Moreover, as experience has demonstrated, unless properly enforced, users will simply access non-compliant sites or find other methods of evading these laws.”

The new statute imposes age verification requirements on pornography websites and any other publishers of content known to be “harmful to minors.”

Lawmakers scoffed at the web publisher’s tactic.

“The fact that they’ve chosen to shut down instead complying to ensure that children aren’t accessing their site tells us exactly who their real target audience is,” said state Rep. Chase Tramont, a Port Orange Republican and the prime sponsor for the age verification bill passed this year.

“To be clear, Aylo has publicly supported age verification of users for years,” the email reads, “but we believe that any law to this effect must preserve user safety and privacy, and must effectively protect children from accessing content intended for adults.”

Pornography sites have previously restricted access to content in protest of similar laws. Aylo noted that Pornhub has also tried to comply with laws in other states only to see users in those jurisdictions flock to less reputable sources for titillation.

“We have seen how this scenario plays out in the United States. In Louisiana last year, Pornhub was one of the few sites to comply with the new law,” Aylo’s email reads. “Since then, our traffic in Louisiana dropped approximately 80%. These people did not stop looking for porn. They just migrated to darker corners of the internet that don’t ask users to verify age, that don’t follow the law, that don’t take user safety seriously, and that often don’t even moderate content. In practice, the laws have just made the internet more dangerous for adults and children.”

Aylo reiterated a position it held as Florida’s law was being debated, that age verification requirements should occur at the device-level, such as requirements for smartphone manufacturers to limit access.

“The best solution to make the internet safer, preserve user privacy, and prevent children from accessing adult content is performing age verification at the source: on the device,” the Aylo email reads.

“The technology to accomplish this exists today. What is required is the political and social will to make it happen. We are eager to be part of this solution and are happy to collaborate with government, civil society and tech partners to arrive at an effective device-based age verification solution. In addition, many devices already offer free and easy-to-use parental control features that can prevent children from accessing adult content without risking the disclosure of sensitive user data.”

Imagine being so "moral" that you'll let the boot of a nanny state sodomize you and like it. Want to do something about kids getting porn?

BE A FUCKING PROPER PARENT AND EDUCATE YOUR CHILDREN

All of these hands-off parents don't give a fuck about what their kids do or access but when little Timmy wants to cut his dick off or little Brenda wants to get fucked by 1000 dudes in a row, it's always someone else's fault.

Or if you really want to suckle the teat of the Government.

Grant Net Nanny a government contract and make it mandatory to be installed on all software. Then make it mandatory to be educated on how to use it. Nationally. Parents have to present a certificate that they understand the dangers of monitored children and un-montiored internet.

I don't get why anti-establishment religious vigilante weirdos have this USSR grade fetish over government surveillance. Listen, I'm all for defunding and destroying these kike'd up degeneracy factories, I'm more concerned about what this bullshit is going to lead to. needing the government's permission to look at the news overseas, someone decides that today, nobody can visit national geographic or the history channel.com
Is this what turning off the porn does to a man now? You sound ass blasted.

It’s good that you have to upload a Government-issued ID to watch pornography. Cry about it. If you are there on PornHub searching “rape”, “forced”, “girl” or “teen” you need to be on a fucking list.

Your flawed logic is that you are comparing porn, the filming of two people engaged in consensual sex - a legal act - with the filming of actual criminal, illegal activity.
What is the difference between prostitution and sex? The exchange of money. If people in porn were not paid you would have an argument. But pornography is by definition people having sex on camera. If you are paying the people to have sex on camera you are inherently paying people for sex which is prostitution. A camera being present doesn't change that.

This ID age verification bullshit is just a means to an end for censorship. Daddy government doesn't care about your children. All age restricted videos on jewtube in the EU require age verification by sending jewgle an actual photo of your fucking ID, just to watch a youtube video, imagine. You amerimutts are lucky.
this is how the internet works in east asia as well. you can't even play minecraft in korea without needing to upload your national ID. america is just behind the curve on making every internet account tied to an ID so they can kick down your door for posting

I'm not going to defend FL wanting an ID to jerk-off or whatever is deemed a verification, I believe that's too far. I do recognize it as a reaction to porn sites doing absolutely nothing in ensuring minors aren't using their sites. Not to mention their general apathetic view on the legality of posted content.

The fact pornhub has blocked themselves in multiple states screams that they are operating in a psuedolegal gray area. I have yet to see a good argument out of them in defense of themselves.

It's a little weird that pornography has been available to people for decades now and no measures have been taken to protect children. One could say that's the parents job, and it is, but there probably should be some sort of regulation. Unfortunately all forms of regulation lead back to giving the state power, who are undoubtedly planning to abuse their position. Strange times.

Anyone applauding State Digital ID is a fucking retard and just ASKING for the government to bend you over and fuck you in the ass with it later.

The objection to this law is on the basis of requiring Porn Hub themselves to keep a database of whoever is accessing it. A database that could then be used by the government to imprison you for it if they so desired. Look at what they're doing to guns and gun laws. The fact that they haven't succeeded should tell you something.

"Think of the children". Fuck off. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for. If they want to look at porn, they'll find a way. Also, VPNs exist. This isn't stopping shit.

It would be really cool if, instead of mandating age checks and ID verification, the government mandated improved tagging: "if you're a porno site, your website MUST return a special response in the first post-handshake packet denoting it is a porno site, and we can check this via web-scraper." And then browsers and OSes could check for that special response and implement blocks based on it, with the default being to block it. Furthermore, if the response was passed after the HTTPS handshake is complete, then (while it'd still be trivial to ask the site yourself) the traffic couldn't be directly snooped and immediately determined to be pornographic, so it could be implemented such that it wouldn't entail increasing surveillance.

You could also implement consumer router-level blocks that wouldn't necessitate man-in-the-middle attacks: it would increase traffic, but for each outgoing WAN request that traverses it, the router could send a parallel request, see whether or not it's pornographic, and cache the result; and, based on the result, allow or deny the traffic to the entire LAN.

No IDs are collected, and (at least U.S.) porno sites are forced by law, in an easily-checked way, to implement some declaration that they are wretched fucks that traffic in human meat.

Of course, this highly abstract notion could easily be turned into a surveillance nightmare, or else so narrowly mandated that it had no room for growth or adjustment. One possible downside is how to handle foreign sites that couldn't be strongarmed into compliance: would the default for non U.S. sites then be to rely on blacklists, or just implement geofencing as part of the default "parental controls" scheme I'm imagining? Because the latter would get us much closer normalizing a lowercase-i internet.

Why don't they just make it so there is a generic "internet acces token" that can only be bought once you are 18? I don't know shit about programming because I'm not a tranny but that seems feasible to me. Banning children from the internet wholesale would only improve it and society. Also ban children from buying phones and computers. Make children live as Amish until they are 18.

Lol. Stop watching porn bro. That's the solution.

It's really that fucking simple, get kids off the internet and that's it. Of course that won't happen because children are very profitable online and the people in control like having yet another tool to manipulate the youth.

Anyone in favor of this government censorship bullshit is moronic, are modern parents so incompetent that the state needs to raise their children for them? Don't Give Little Timmy An iPad, is that so hard? Porno sites would barely have any clientele at all if kids weren't exposed to sexual content and were raised properly until 18, porn companies profit off of indoctrinating and enslaving their consumers early on.

Honestly, I wasn't exposed to the wider internet until I was around 15/16. My folks were very, very aware of what the early internet would lead to and restricted my access to only looking up things for school. Most of what the internet was back then was just chat rooms and groomers trying to get feet pics. Porn didn't really explode onto the scene until the mid 90s and early 2000s.

You can't just shove an iPad into little Timmy's hand and then get all offended when he clicks on a link exposing his innocent little eyes to a woman's tits for the first time. Expecting the nanny state of the government (who's Jewishly rubbing their hands in anticipation of this action) to "fix" the wider problem by killing everyone's access wholesale and not even giving you the courtesy of a reach around while they fuck you in the ass for your trouble's is functionally retarded.

"He who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security."
