Depends on the lease, I suppose. Miss one and then you end up with a penalty fee. Miss two and things start to get unpleasant. Miss three and the Sheriff stops by to serve you with your 30 day eviction notice (unless Phil does something truly unruly like threatening the landlord, in which case he may get a 72 hour notice to vacate).
And this is where things start to get a bit dicey. Phil could extend this process a few months by fighting the eviction in court. While the case is still pending, Phil gets to stay even if he continues to deadbeat. Phil will lose eventually of course, but if he makes his deadbeatery a case of multiple months without payment, that's going to stay on his record that will follow him everywhere he goes and keep him from finding another apartment elsewhere in town. Landlords tend to share such info among themselves to keep people like Phil from apartment-hopping.

I had to go to one of these trials back in January as a witness. It was a nonstop shake your head and contain your laughter event. The tenant managed to get the most sympathetic judge she could get and lost.

I like how he subtly shifts blame ("I have enough to worry about in my life," "being socially isolated...puts me in this position") to make it sound this isn't completely his own fault for already wasting his month'son toy guns and crap from eBay.

I need help with some of the rent for April ($100-$110) and help with a $70 water/sewer/trash bill.
To put bluntly, I would like not to lose my home. And usually on the second half of the month my and my partner are barely eating as is.
I have been also going through a shit load of depression lately and I have enough to worry about in my life.
I honestly wish that I was not so needy but being socially isolated because of my Transgender status and mental health issues puts me in this position.
I thank anyone who can give to this.

I'd actually love to see a lawyer trying to make Phil "presentable" for a court date. If they tried to put him in a shirt and tie he'd scream transmisogyny but he'd look even more ridiculous in a dress and heels with his gross neck tattoos and mile-wide cankles. Maybe a burqa would work?

It sounds to me like they made March rent, but left no money to pay their bills (utilities, renters insurance, etc) or buy groceries. And because they're extra retarded, they're now coming up short on everything in April, including rent.

Phil already knew they'd be short in March. He posted about how he was going to need help with rent and bills due to Toren needing to go on a "business trip". Of course Toren will now contribute less and less and the shortfall will increase. Phil will beg for necessities like rent and bills while Toren tries to crowdfund pizza and vodka.
The question is how long it will take Phil to realise that Toren is never going to contribute his fair share and will only remain until he can find someone better to mooch off.

Even while fat, Brando was considered charismatic and attractive. Phil just looks like someone that has a bad case of bad genetics. I also love how he can look not smug if he wants to look like a poor and sick little "girl".
