I think one of the things that irks me the most is that Phil has no personality outside of one trait: negativity. Everyone is negative about something, or multiple things, but rarely are people just entirely negative. That's how Phil is regarding everything: every game, every person he interacts with, every situation hes in, and he needs to infect you with that negativity.

He has nothing that interests him genuinely, that he likes to share with people. I'm a history buff, and most conversations with me usually take a turn into that subject, because it excites me and interests me and I love sharing it with people. Phil has nothing that he can share, nothing that actully excites him or if he does none of the will to learn more about what it. The nearest we see of his interests os when he eats on camera and to me that's not an interest in food, or culture, it's just consuming. He's getting a dopamine hit and goes right back into negativity the second it wears off.

It's what makes him so exhausting, to me at least. There's nothing else there, just a negativity storm that's trying to make you feel as bad as he does.

Same! That's his only trait and it's to be negative. If you're doing better than him, he has to talk MAD shit about you to feel better about himself. He honestly reminds me of the Player Haters Ball skit from Chappelle Show from back in the early 00's.

The fact that he cannot handle ANY kind of constructive criticism and the thought of a HINT of any form of criticism, he sees as a threat OR he goes into a tangent about WHY he can't do it. This was EVIDENT during the interview with Adam and Craig, which they told Phil RIGHT to his face that he has an issue, and he needs ACTUAL help. Both brought up the point to him to "take a break from the internet." Phil being Phil, he had a legit excuse and said that his "business is on the internet and he can't." Adam bought up a good point that he should get a REAL job, take a break, etc....Phil had that excuse of "Who's gonna hire a 40-year-old guy that's been out of the job market for almost 13 years?" Adam with that quote that you know CUT Phil DEEP: "Not with that attitude they won't." Hearing that, it shut HIM right up.

I can't see him get a job that relates to his "got it in a vending machine" college degree, so it has to be something minimum wage that does not require human interaction.
And in that case the combined income of the Burnell household would be around $3900/month. Even with cutting back some shit Phil cant get his fixed expenses under $4100/month, add to that actual cost of living (fuel, food ect).

The actual thing to do would be selling his fucking condo, get a non internet job and move somewhere way less expensive than Renton. But as we all know so much of Phils ego is tied up in that fucking condo.

I was watching secret limited's Sifu TIHYDP and listening to him bitch about the stage 2 boss. He was getting so mad that the game required him to use the quick dodge mechanic. His big gripe was that the game wanted him to use this system he never "needed" to use before to fight this boss. It occurred to me while listening to him bitch about the game being a "puzzle" that I think we are offbase in our belief he has a learning disability. He's learning adverse.

He doesn't want to try anything new because he'd need to learn something, OBS updates and he's mad he has to learn how it works now. New capture card, he has to learn how it works and it makes him mad. How does someone live like that?

I can think of two hands worth of people who make videos on things you've never thought about that would trap you in a trance, because they're actually pretty passionate and interested in it and it's nice to be gay about dumb things sometimes.

I know autistic people and while some of them struggle learning about specific subjects, I've yet to meet one who is adverse to learning anything in the way Phil is. So let me rephrase:

Fuck that. I used to say that he has at most one standard deviation below average IQ semi-jokingly, I thought that realistically it was in the low 90s, but the DSP vs the World clips I saw tell me that he's legitimately 85 IQ at best. He can't even spot a parody video plus the ones he watched were as subtle as an atom bomb. He also is completely unable to distinguish between fantasy and reality, or reality and an obvious camera or editing software trick.

I think that's part of the reason I find Phil so fascinating. It's not just one or two things that makes him such a lolcow, it's the whole shopping list of things. And yeah I can't think of any person with such a hatred of having to learn new things.

Speaking to this hatred of learning, having to play video games for a living really does seem like a shitty way to make a living.

That is the reason one would think that he should play games like The Division 1&2 ( or games like them). These games is about learning the mechanics and how the missions function and them spend hours upon hours of perfecting your runs.
He would be able to play a game for literally years without having to learn anything new, and the dents would still throw money at him.

Jumping from AAA hype release to AAA hype release doesn't seem like a healthy way to go around doing things when you clearly hate learning how to do new things. But I guess that goes back to there not only being one thing that makes Phil, Phil. He may hate learning new things with a burning passion but he also have a very low attention span so he also hates having to do the same thing for any length of time.

A real job? Certainly not, most of the ones that pay as much as he makes now require specialized degrees (engineering), brutally hard licensing exams (actuary), or both (law and medicine) Even if he wanted to go back to the helicopter factory he's been out of the workforce so long that he may as well have no degree at all.

Where Phil is dead wrong is how he uses that to justify not improving his khantent - his income is tenuous because it relies on YouTube policies staying as is, whales remaining loyal, probably a half dozen other things I can't name on top of that and any one of those changing could put him in severe debt. If he plans to stay on YouTube for the rest of his life he should be taking measures (leaning into being a lolcow and monetizing it is the easy one, the hard one would be putting in real effort and diversifying) to make sure he can stay afloat. It's one thing to take his income for granted over the next 3-5 years (personally I think this is reasonable), it's another to take it for granted for the next thirty-plus years (which is what he does by not changing at all).

Depending on how he pulled that off he might lose Kat too - I am reasonably confident he promised her an easy life when he first started DMing her on Twitter because you know he didn't win her over with looks or personality. She might get mad enough to leave if he came clean and admitted his money's not enough and they need to move somewhere cheaper; if that "somewhere cheaper" doesn't have her favorite food on Doordash/Grubhub she'd be even more likely to leave.

You correctly pointed out that Phil has a ton of ego in that condo, and Kat is part of the Serious Successful Mature Adult LARP too - if she does not want to move he will not move unless or until foreclosure is a real possibility.

Leaving the Snort Fort would also alienate the dents who like Phil because they think he is a super successful streamer who gets to play videogames all day instead of working a boring 9-to-5 (here I am thinking of Timbo and JaxxRaxxor) - admitting that his lifestyle in Seattle (remember, when he's flexing it's Seattle and not some boring cookie-cutter suburb) was not sustainable and his streaming "career" is only viable because he moved out to the boonies would ruin that illusion and might scare them off.

Should Youtube shut down in the next few years and Twitch also die then Phil is royally fucked. He has only this left. If it breaks away then what? Beg his "fans" to support him via Patreon or direct donations? Then he would be a real beggar with the exception that he is not sitting on a street corner. That's why Keem said he is stuck on Level 1 forever. Keem made it on Youtube and he planned ahead building a form of company out of it. What has Phil build? Googatz. And while his associates like John or even Respect the pact used their experience with Phil to move ahead Phil satyed on Level 1.

If it were a one time thing, it'd just be whatever, but nearly every night stream is just pathetic.

I feel like he could find a place desperate enough for employees and flex muh business degree to get some stupid position in middle management or something if he bullshitted the interview enough. Of course he would end up fired for incompetence because he's such a lazy moron he both wouldn't work and would make the work environment so fucking toxic he would come back to his streams and rail about how he would sue the company for wrongful termination if he had the money.

The reason this Colonel Sanders schtick is so annoying isn't because he is doing the retarded voice, but that he does it constantly even when people ask him to shut the fuck up with it. DSP doesn't grasp humor at all. Schticks like that and his other ones he does he just doesn't understand need brevity.
